I think the movie that made me feel the worst was 'Requiem for a Dream.' I was not okay for weeks after that movie.

Yeah... that one was difficult to watch.

Trainspotting is along those same lines, but it least it had a happy-ish ending.

"Wolf Creek" didn't do much for me, but I think "Rec" is probably the one and only film that has genuinely chilled me to the bone. <shudder>

    Dirty Pretty Things

Black market organ trafficking - illegal immigrants in London.

I left the theater feeling horrible.
Just as a comparison, in Brazil, thousands of children of the lower classes vanish every year. The urban legend tells that they were adopted overseas or were used in the illegal traffic of human organs.

For Colored Girls - I think I cried through the entire thing.
  • "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "Old Yeller" destroyed me as a kid. Never been able to watch them again.

    The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

I can't tell you how many times I would wake up around 3 am and freak out

I required a lot of Disney after that film............

Caligula... This 1,000 yard stare isn't from hours on the treadmill... there just isn't enough soap and SOS pads to make you feel clean.

The first time I saw "IT" I was screwed up for days...and yes I'm still terrified of clowns. Went back to watch that movie again now that I'm older...not as scary as it used to be.

    "The Secrets of NIMH"

emotionally/sad, I'd have to say "Sophie's Choice" and "Million Dollar Baby"

Pulp Fiction. Saw it in the theater and refuse to watch it ever since. The gimp scene really freaked me out.

I actually have a hard time watching Titanic. When it gets to the part where the Irish woman is telling fairy tales to her two kids as the water's rushing under the bed, then the elderly couple embracing... while the band plays on. Some movies I don't mind crying through, but that one I just really do not like at all.
  • American Me.... That movie should be used in scared straight programs!
