    I have one on my penis that says Tiny.

    I read a nice article about laser tattoo removal that had an interview with a dermatologist. He mentioned his favorite regret story was of an older lady who had a tattoo on her lower abdomen. It had an arrow pointing down and the words "DINNER IS SERVED".

    I actually have one above mine which means "to give love." No joke.

    It's all a matter of opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. They are like @ssholes, everyone's got one. I have 7 tattoos including my eyeliner, but they are all hidden if I want them to be, so I like tattoos but since they can be frowned upon, I put them in places that can be covered up (for like an interview and such). I have the "tramp stamp" back before it was called that, and it has meaning to me, so I don't really care what anyone thinks.

    I have seen some lovely tattoos that I wouldn't have minded having myself (except I'm way too indecisive to put permanent art of any kind on my carcass). Most that I've seen don't move me either way, and some (anything cleverly using the bellybutton to portray an arsehole for example) that just make me shake my head.

    The location of the tattoo (other than the bellybutton-t-arsehole bit) means nothing at all to me as far as whether I think it's tasteful, though.

    Tattoo's are NOT trashy, at all. Tattoo's are a form of art. If it was a picture drawn on a piece of paper or a painting it wouldn't be trashy, JUST because it's on your skin, it's trashy? How that works, I don't know.

    Tattooing is an odd and beautiful form of art; very interesting and more expressive sentiment than any other thing. It is more fascinating than costly jewelry and can't be lost, stolen or borrowed. It is a memento we can keep through life and retain after death.

    No point in getting angry. In about 10 years, it will be impossible to discriminate in hiring or make fun of people's tattoos--the trend is just not going away. Forty-somethings have tribal tats, Chinese characters, arm sleeves from the 1990's. Nowadays, 20-year-olds like writing out quotes in black ink on their arms and torsos. Do we have a tattooed congressman or senator yet? If not, it's just a matter of time before we do. I am personally rooting for a woman senator with a tramp stamp--that would be awesome. Although we may already have one and just not know it.

    Because people who don't have a tattoo CONSTANTLY label those who do... People who are tattooed never say anything bad about those who don't. :laugh:

    I love all my tattoo :) I even have a "tramp stamp" not a lower back one tho..... wouldnt change any, mine were all done by very good artists and I think that make a difference in it. If you pay cheap it looks cheap ((most of the time))

    Not a fan of any tattoos.

    My opinion, and I respect other's opinions as well.

    The reason you do not understand, sir, is probably related to your age.

    When my generation retires, there is going to be a lot of inked, pierced saggy skin on display in Florida.

    I think it will forever be known as a tramp stamp but it really depends on you and why you got it. I have one and it has a story behind it. I wouldn't change it for anything.

    I got a tattoo on my lower back when I was 18 years old because I thought it was a nice place to put one. The term "tramp stamp" wasn't around then, or if it was, I didn't know about it. I still love my tattoo, but hate the fact that thsi term is associated with it. :(

    My tattoo is for me and no one else, so I really dont care what anyone else thinks. If you choose not to like me or hang out with me because I have a "tramp stamp", thats your loss!

    I've got 21 tattoos - I love them and I have 4 on my back, with more planned.

    Tats can be classy or not, they are art and it's beauty in the eye of the beholder.

    I slightly agree with this. I have one, I don't think its trashy. I love it and although it doesn't have any meaning (that I know of) I think its a nice piece of art. HOWEVER, I have NEVER worn clothes to try to show it off.

    I don't really understand having one on your lower back, to me if I had a tattoo I would have it out most of the time so somewhere that is visible otherwise I don't really get the point in it, how often do you have your lower back on display, unless you wear really short crop tops and mega low slung jeans, which isn't a very classy look,

    It means something to them and they mean the world to me, so I (and they) don't really give a *kitten* what others think.

    i have 8 tatoos and i love them all ! 2 on my lower back 1 on the top 1 on my thigh 1 on my side 1 on my hip and 2 butterflys and i LOVE THEM And well if you dont like mine... i dont care :P x

    My first tattoo was on my lower back. It is 3 words in Latin (I studied Latin for 10 years) and a rose. Simple, meaningful, and classy.

    If you took a look at my profession (computer nerd) you wouldn't think that = tramp.
    If you look at my wardrobe, mostly business attire, probably not "trashy"
    If you look at my personal life, happily married for 11 years and proud soccer mom of 4, that probably also doesn't scream TRAMP.
    If you look at my tattoos and think wow what a hooch, well then so be it.
    My tattoos mean something to me. I like them, and I didn't get them for anyone but myself!

    **also I rarely show off my "tramp stamp" maybe it may be visible in my swim suit, but not always. It was probably visible while I was doing the back walkover in my profile :-) My foot tattoo is much more visible.

    I have "Carpe Diem" tattooed on my lower back. I was 18 when I got it, I'm 32 now. Would I go out tomorrow and get it done if I hadn't already had it? No. Does it bother me that I did get it? No, not at all. It makes me smile about my youthful optimism. I'd like to think that it's a little more classy than some of the lower back tatts that I've seen, but i guess everyone views tattoos differently.
