White Bread. But I don't like white bread.
I never drank soda or juices so I never had to cut them.
And then just smaller portions of stuff.0 -
Only soft drink.
I don't feel the need to cut out anything I like to lose weight because I know I can do it with moderation, or just cooking healthier in general.
I stopped the soft drink because I want to take better care of my teeth lol.0 -
1. soda (for the most part) I have one diet every once in awhile
2. ALL DAIRY (only do yogurt) only because I get sick
3. JUNK FOOD
4. Bread (again for the most part) I do it once in a great while
5. NEGATIVE SELF TALK (that alone makes me successful)0 -
I'm in the "everything in moderation" camp. Cutting things out always backfires for me.0
-
I'm more in line with the if it fits in my calories and I want it ill eat it but I'm making sensible decisions rather than restricting food.
-I have stopped putting margarine/butter on sandwiches and toast
-I don't use oil when frying bacon and I'll fry the egg with the bacon, so it's all dry fried
-I've stopped thinking I deserve to treat myself with food after a hard day or feel glum (but I've also changed my job so the crappy days aren't as often anymore)
-I've done more research into low calorie foods, and substitutes for popular desserts
-I've restricted alcohol - largely due to calories and also because I'm re overnight from depression I suffer from low moods for a few days after I drink0 -
I cut out squid guts and horse meat.
It's nearly impossible to find these foods in the US, and I don't like them anyway.0 -
- Soda
- Candy
- Dessert
- late night snack
- JUNK!!!0 -
Nothing. Upped my protein though.0
-
Nothing is off limits, in moderation. It's easier for me to make healthy choices when it is a choice.0
-
1. Fast food items like hamburgers and frenchfries.
2. Milkshakes
3. Alcohol
4. Little Debbie snacks
5. Pop tarts! That was my go to breakfast or when I wanted a comfort food...s'mores pop tarts were my favorite. But 400 calories for two is crazy!0 -
I'm on an anti-inflammatory diet with a healthy kick into clean eating too.
So my 'no-eats' list is pretty extreme as a start:
1) No grains/gluten/pasta
2) No rice (wild rice once or twice a month is the exception)
3) No processed foods if I can help it. Nothing in a box. I am not however, making my own yogurt, etc.
4) No corn and potatoes.
5) As little sugar as absolutely possible. No artificial sugar. So honey or stevia are my choices when I get sugar.
Yes, it was difficult to start, although not as difficult as I thought it would be, considering I LIVED on bread and pasta.
My husband has lost 19lbs and I've lost 14 lbs in 5 wks, so its working!!0 -
There is nothing that I can think of that I have cut out completely.
There are a lot of things though that I very rarely eat anymore. Like jam, any dessert, chips, french fries, just eating out in general.0 -
most sugar
most starch
no rice
most grains]
I really can't handle these things biologically, nothing to do with this mystical 'moderation'0 -
1.french fries
2.soda
3.taco bell
4. chips
5.candy0 -
1. Any salad dressing which is not homemade, including mayo/cheese (I use lemon juice, or balsamic vinagrette, or lime juice, or red wine vinegar)
2. Processed chips, candies, packaged noodles/rice/potatoes (basically if it comes in plastic, I try to avoid it like the plague)
3. Cheese
4. Sugar: desserts, JUICE/SODA, candy (I try to satisfy the sugar urge with fruit, but only at or before lunch.)
5. Fatty Meats: Deli Meats, Nitrate-loaded Meats, anything cured (I like to use no-salt-white tuna, chicken, turkey, fish.)
I love the idea of "Swapping" foods. One of my favorite recipes is Chili with lean ground turkey. Also, tuna steaks are cheap and super lean.
While I'm not perfectly adhering to the above list, its what I strive for when making food choices. I try to fill up on fruits and veggies, and then add in the 'main dish'. I also use tea and soup to fill me up.
What to youl use?0 -
1. Dairy
2. High Starch foods
3. Refined sugar products
[Medical condition brought this on]
4.Nothing that has seeds or hulls (bananas, nuts, rice, popcorn, etc. )
5. Carbonated drinks0 -
1) Self recrimination
2) Guilt
3) All or nothing mentality
4) Victim mentality
5) Cereal0 -
Soda!!0

Awesome list!!!!
Have you seen the website for "Eat This, Not That"? They suggest many alternatives for items on your list. Such as baking julianned potatoes, and adding seasoning, like chili powder or cumin.
Hope this helps,
Megan0 -
I eat these things less often but not totally eliminated and it helps me:
1. Pizza
2. Dairy
3. Pastries
4. Candy/Chocolate
No 5th item that I can think of.
Try to drink more water.0 -
Hi!
Have you found any good sources of info for "abandoning the victim mentality"?
Thanks,
Megan0 -
Hi Chloe,
I was curious, why to avoid the Whey protons?
Thanks,
Meg0 -
- whey protons
- foie gras
- soy protons
- butter
- casein protons
wow that's a lot of protons . . .
I didn't cut out anything, I don't believe in restriction dieting, I believe in moderation meal planning.0 -
1. My weakness has been rice krispies cereal with too much sugar added.(finished my last box. done!)
2. Going over to my co-workers candy jar for fun size Butterfinger and Twix bars.
Other than this I just need to get back on top of my meal planning. I have fallen off the last few weeks because I've been extra busy and tired.0 -
I wish I could answer "nothing", as to what I have to avoid.
I've always been a firm believer in "everything in moderation", or "if it fits your macros, eat it!". But...
Unfortunately, some people have no choice but to avoid certain foods if they want to improve their health, especially if they have Metabolic Disorders. I have insulin resistance, PCOS and other hormone issues which make it necessary for me to avoid (or rarely eat) pastas, rice, breads and grains. Even eating them in *small* amounts affects me negatively, despite the fact they easily fit into my daily calories. So not eating them is a choice that I have made for my own health and my own body. I wish it weren't necessary, as I do love the taste of these foods, but when they end up making you feel miserable - despite leading a healthy, active lifestyle - sometimes you have to let them go.0 -
1) Tags off t-shirts
2) Tags off pillow
3) Eye holes for Halloween costume.
4) Paper dolls for office prank
Hmmmm...what else have I cut out....
5) Oh yeah..dealing with too much drama. It's just not as much fun as it used to be when I was younger.0 -
French fries and fast food beef burgers (but just because it's too many calories for the food and I'd still be hungry, lol). I've had a couple chicken nuggets.
I honestly haven't felt the need to cut out anything.0 -
1. Nothing.
2. Nothing.
3. Nothing.
4. Nothing.
5. Nothing.0 -
The only thing I've really cut out is McDonalds and I did that even before I started trying to get fit. I just stopped eating there, it wasn't like a "oh this *kitten* is gross and horrible for you" it was more like a "I'm too broke for that" LOL
Other than that, I believe everything is okay IN MODERATION. Even I have trouble with the "in moderation" sometimes.0 -
1. Nothing.
2. Nothing.
3. Nothing.
4. Nothing.
5. Nothing.
I am taking her approach... nothing is being cut out.. if I cut anything out I would probably cut someone.0
