Sticking around for the conversation only because food porn was introduced.:smokin:

He has the best food porn. <3 There are other threads dedicated to it!!! :D
I'm coming over for lunch. After that I suppose I'll have to figure out what to have for dinner and dessert today.

Thanks for adding some humor, delicious photos and perspective to this thread.

... and screw coming over. You should totally kidnap him and keep him in your kitchen. ; )

It wouldn't take much. Go to a place like Cheesecake Factory or any other nice restaurant. In one meal, you'd be set!

    Bacon cheeseburger with the bun
    deep fried cheese curds
    chocolate malt

    cheetos for a snack
    2 glasses of wine

That probably does it right there...

This day alone is why they can't do a 5k cheat day. It's NOT a reffed people. Besides a refeed is not a 'just eat anything' it's got to be planned to basically be hi carb. You are all suggesting nothing but pure sugar, salt & fat.

If anything those suggesting that she go along with it & those suggesting the crap she eat are just as bad as the one thinking a cheat day is needed. There is no way on earth she has enough calorie credit to eat 5000cals in a day.

I'm wondering who are the real eating disorder ones here..... the OP or those who think it's more than ok to pump your body with 5k worth of fat, sugar & salt & then still be ok with it.

Dramatic much? Yeah, I guess we all have eating disorders. I'm a measly 4'11 and my profile pic is current..and YES I have (on multiple occasions) eaten 5000+ calories in a single day. I also think it's fine.

That statement suggests that you might have some underlying food issues. Must everything you eat be earned? Do you need a "calorie credit" to justify a day where you just EAT? I think not.

Go to the beach and walk the boardwalk. Everything that strikes my fancy I get and try....
Last summer I hit close to 5000 while out with my family... we were also there from sunup until 11pm and walking/playing in the water the whole time.

Good thing I don't do that every day.

I'm always amused by the self righteous "I couldn't possibly eat that" crowd. It's like they've found religion for the first time and are now trying to convince everyone else of the truth in their cause. We only know what the OP has told us. Either have fun figuring out what you would eat or move along. The claims of "oh, I couldn't possibly" are ludicrous. She might have an ED but I'm not here to diagnose her. Besides, if you're here to lose weight, then I'm pretty sure you've eaten over 5000 calories in a day at least a few times in your life.

I have hit 5000 calories so often I couldn't tell you the number of times I've done it. And that's AFTER I started tracking.

And OP, for me if would be something along the lines of the following:

Breakfast - pancakes, syrup, bacon, sausage, eggs.

Lunch - beer, ribeye steak, veggies, loaded potato, and ice cream.

    Snack - beer

Dinner - wine, caesar salad, prime rib, french fries, and cheese cake.

I'm a virgin. I've never eaten 5000 cals a day. GASP! I weighed 238 at one time but I'm pretty sure it was the dry fried eggs, apples and moldy toast I ate. Mostly the apples though. Pretty sure it was the APPLES. Maybe the asparagus.

    Pretty sure it wasn't :

Krispy Kreme doughnuts, scones, yeast rolls, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, bread sticks, pizza, brownies, cookies, ice cream, cheesecake, cornbread, nachos, beer, wine, ritz crackers by the box, saltines with butter ....

Related to THAT, by no mere coincidence, did you see much protein or produce in that list.

NO WAY could I ever , nor have I ever eaten 5000 cals a day.

    Virginity intact.

    Whew!

I took a look at the OP's diary and just about went into a diabetic coma from the sugar content.

I am more concerned about this than about the calorie goal. All that sugar day after day after day CAN'T be good for a person.

The UK GDA is 90g so it's not that much over that, really.
The USA GDA is 6 tsp for women, 9 tsp for men. 6 x 4.2 = 25.2 g. Not sure why the UK is so much higher. There are 4.2 grams of sugar in one teaspoon. Therefore, 100 g of sugar is equivalent to eating approximately 50 teaspoons. Yeah, I find that horrifying.
We need a higher allowance for all the tea we drink.

I have a question for all you self-righteous people calling this a binge. Your calorie goals don't apply to everyone, neither do mine, but the difference is I'm not judging.

For example, my maintenance calories at 5'10" 193lbs is ~4100. (Currently cutting @ 3250, which is a bit more than 1lb a week loss for me) Would 5,000 be a binge? Hell, that would be barely over eating.

I would also like to add you don't get extra credit once you've hit your micro nutrient needs. Sometimes you just have caloric needs.

Lunch a month ago, during a cheat day or whatever you want to call it:

the OP's next thread will be "help, not losing weight!" bahahahahahahahaha

OP has a ticker that implies she wants to gain 6 pounds so your prediction is...unlikely

Huh? You say that like OP is currently trying to lose weight...

...(which I don't believe is true...but will admit, I haven't complete my extensive background check of OP which is apparently now a requirement (for some) before responding to questions).

Do you need calorie credit for cheat days? That wouldn't really be cheating then, would it?

OP seems to be trying to gain weight, according to her ticker, so if she wants to take a day to up her calories by a lot then why shouldn't she splurge a bit?

The fats, sugars and salt are really not that high on the day you show.

    Context is relevant.
