well know side effects of HCG in women is Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. It says the ricks increases with each cycle. I think it might be time for me to rethink this diet.
FYI:
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome can be mild, moderate, or severe:
• Mild hyperstimulation causes enlargement of the ovaries and discomfort and fluid buildup in the abdomen.
• Moderate hyperstimulation causes additional symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and shortness of breath. This condition may require bed rest.
• Severe hyperstimulation can cause life-threatening fluid buildup around the heart and lungs and in the abdomen, and a drop in blood fluid content. This condition requires urgent medical care and hospitalization to prevent liver failure, stroke, or heart damage.
Those risks are for women that are using HCG for fertility treatments, NOT dieting................ For the diet part of it, we are using a very small amount compared to women that are actually pregnant or using HCG for fertility reasons.
I called my Dr and asked her about it and she told me if those were the risks, then every pregnant woman would end up sick and we all know that is not the case.0 -
Ugh. I hit a brick wall. No change for 3 days now. Today is apple day and I'm hoping to break the plateau before we start Phase 3. We're getting close to the bottom of our amber bottles. We were hoping to make it through the weekend, but it's looking like we'll run out maybe Saturday.0
-
Hey again!
What was the website you went to for the HCG? And what type were you using?0 -
Stay positive, Rob. You may yet break the plateau. You've done an awesome job so far.0

YIKES!!!!! So I made the mistake of drinking way too much coffee- and now I feel SO hungry and jittery.
Crap.
And I just finished my dinner. at 5:00.
I am going to tough it out- but tomorrow - I am gonna slow down on the coffee~0 -

I wonder if I have been drinking too much coffee and it is making me hungry???? Something changed, I just don't know what!!!0 -
Beautiful babies in the pic ! I'm sure they help to keep you motivated! It's so cool the way that you are measuring your success! Great job on your loss!0

You are going to be hungry if you have your TOM and you are taking the hcg and sticking to the vlcd. about 5 days I was ravenous and I just couldn't stop eating. I ate cucumber slices and broke my grissini into very small pieces so that I could "snack" on them throughout the day.
Water helped as well as flavored seltzer and ice.
Also, organic low sodium chicken broth.
Once your TOM is over, you'll go back to not being so hungry.
Stick with it.0 -

TOM is not over yet for me...................I am probably going to be having a really long one due to not having one in 5 months. I had steak last night for supper with cucumbers in Braggs ACV and was going to have the same for lunch, but I forgot it at home on the counter!!
So now I am going to have to find a lunch spot today that serves steak and plain brocolli.0 -
Hi Everybody!!
Sorry I have been absent but my hubby and I took a few days away from the kids to rediscover ourselves - just phenomenal!
UPDATE:
We left for camping on Sunday 8/1 - I was just below my LDW (Last dose weight) of 159.2. Sunday night we had steaks over the campfire and roasted veggies. Monday I had a good run and then eggs/bacon for breakfast. Big salads each day for lunch then beef stew (avoiding the potatoes as much as possible). I snacked on corn chips and homemade salsa but my estimated calorie intake for the day was big - like 2500 or maybe more. Monday/Tuesday - still weighing in under LDW. Tuesday afternoon we checked into a hotel for a few days of pampering. Tuesday night I had several glasses of wine (I rarely drink anymore) with lamb, salad and veggies for dinner. Wednesday - up a little to 160. Wednesday had a GREAT 4mile run in the morning! We relaxed most of the day then went to Hooters for dinner. I had a philly steak (tossed out the bun) and their onion strings and fried pickes (the breading is OFF-protocol). Then I really went off protocol. I had 3 pints of light beer at Hooters, then we went to a little corner bar for some pool where they had a popcorn machine. That is a weakness for me! It was that greasy stuff I love too! So, I had too much popcorn and about 3 more beers.
Thursday morning: 164 and change. I decided to NOT do steak day and eat clean (I didn't do a great job of that either but better than Wednesday) to see if that would help my numbers but this morning I am still at 164 so I am doing a steak day today.
Prior to the beer and popcorn day, I had not been having trouble maintaining my loss. I am as sure today as ever that HCG was EXACTLY what I needed at EXACTLY the right time in my life.
I will post tomorrow with my update and let you all know the results of my steak day!!
As always, feel free to comment and inquire - this thread has had lots of people with varying experiences and everyone has stayed pretty constructive with their information!
Love you guys!!!

Ok, not doing too bad with the hungries today. I brought my coffee from home instead of drinking the stuff that the office supplies and there is a ntoable difference in how my stomach feels.
I drink an organic Ethiopian blend at home and at work it is whatever the coffee service delivers, which is Ronnocco or something like that.
Also, I checked my tracking for my new HCG and it is out for delivery!!! YAY, I will start using it tonight to see if it is that much stronger than what I am currently using.
Right now the strength of the HCG I am using starts out at 12X and the stuff I recently purchased starts out at 3X, so I think that is part of the problem..........0 -
If you want a sandwich - try using nappa cabbage leaves in place of the bread. I did that today and it was so good! I am wearing a dress today that I have not been able to wear in at least 6 years!!!0

Woo, Hooo Go girl!!
I am wearing a new dress I bought at Cato last night for a presentation I had to do today and I was able to buy it in a size 14.0 -
So, I broke my plateau and dumped 2.0lbs since yesterday. Yesterday was the last day of our sublingual doses, so we're starting Phase 3 Monday. We're doing 3 weeks of Phase 3 and then Round 2 Phase 1 with 3 days of gorging. Whatever my weight is Sunday morning is what I'll call my LIW.0
-
I am thinking of trying this because my weight hasnt moved in almost a month and I am doing it all right and I still have a lot to go! Can anyone message me where they got their HCG drops from... I dont think i could do the whole needle thing. Thanks :-)0

YAY. that is a good thing!!!0 -
Hi everyone! I made it through yesterday even though after dinner I had too much coffee- I went to bed with a VERY uneasy feeling, all jittery and hungry. I am cutting back my coffee consumption and today I feel much better!
Also-
I am vlcd day 5 - and I am down 6 pounds!
wow
Rob- keep us posted on after care progress/status- and BIG BIG congrats!!0 -
 iM doing good but im so hungry and i want :smokin: but i won"t do it am i to a fat for a 500 cal diet been on it 6 day i know i will not die nothing feel as good as skinny feels:grumble:0
-
Lizzy - if you are asking if you are too fat for a 500 cal diet you make me giggle. I don't think anyone is "too fat" for this diet - and I think that the more weight a person has to lose, the more they need this diet. Also - by American standards, you aren't that fat. I was heavier than you when I started my 'lifestyle change' last fall.
Lorishines - I LOVE MY COFFEE! But now I drink half-caff or just decaf. I love the flavor/taste more than I need the caffeine. While I was on the VLCD if I drank too much I got jittery too.
Lioness - Congrats on the 14 dress! I know how you feel. Makes you so happy you want to cry doesn't it! (tears of joy)
Rob - congrats of the big finale! Have a great 3 weeks of phase 3. I have found that incorporating exercise into my phase 3 has made it a piece of cake! (Pun intended)
Everyone else . . . need more convincing??? Really?0 -
Ok, on the low carb board I also belong to, I think they have helped me figure out what is wrong with my hHCG..............
My resonse is below the first quote.............Oh, yes, thin. The homeopathy cannot be near electromagnetics. I think your spray is homeopathic as well. So that makes it the same!!! They say to stay away from laptops, x-ray machines. All those things. I forgot about that! I keep mine in the cabinet. Nothing there that can effect it like that!
Well, maybe that is the problem!!
When I am at work, my bottle stays right beside my docking station so I can remember to take it. And my cell phone is on the other side of my bottle, so it is sitting right in between my cellie and my laptop.0 -
wow. I had no idea it could be that sensitive. Congrats on the 14 dress! Isn't it great when you have to go down, rather than up when trying/buying clothes!
Great job, Rob.
I am still trying to decide between continuing with the homeopathic hcg or buying "the real thing" and going the 40 days with it.
Keep up the good work guys. Stay strong on the weekend!0 -
Can someone send me the website for the drops?0
-
YAYAYAYAYYYYYYYYY just now my boss said
"Hey you look skinnier! You losin' weight"
Why yes I am thanks very much!
I cant believe how fast the pounds are dropping!!0 -
I did great today- and then BAM~! I was driving my boss on some errands- and she offered me a mint. Without even blinking I popped it in my mouth, chewed it up and right as I swallowed it, I suddenly remembered that I am on a diet. Gulp!.
I really did not intend to stray even a morsel from the protocol, but it happened. I skipped my last melba toast- in hopes to balance out the error.
Also- I know according to Simeons protocol we can use vinegar, but is balsalmic vinegar acceptable? I hope so because I used it today on my lunch. I had green lettuce some diced onions with 3 oz of peeled shrimp and 6 strawberries. Is having onions on my salad cheating?
Thanks for any input- I look forward to hearing about everyones progress on the HCG journey!0 -
Great job, don't worry about the mint. As far as Balsamic , that's kind of iffy. The real Balsamic from Modena - with the seal on the bottle proving it's been tested an found up to the confederation's standards - is okay in moderation. Other Balsamic vinegars are mainly sugar and caramel coloring. I only use Balsamic at home, so I know it's the real thing. When I'm out, I just squeeze lemon juice on my salad or ask for red wine vinegar.
I've been mixing onions with a lot of veggies for flavor. I think it depends on how much onion you are using. If it's a lot, then the onion goes from being a seasoning to being an actual vegetable part of the meal. Just keep experimenting. As long as you are losing weight, then keep doing what is comfortable for you.
I binged last night! My dinner - with wine - was 385 calories! That put me at a total of 573 calories for the day. But, I really needed to relax on the deck last night with my hubby and just de-stress.
Luckily, I did not gain any weight, but didn't lose any either. I don't mind skipping a day of weight loss so that I can enjoy a "real" meal.
Great job on your weight loss so far!0 -
well know side effects of HCG in women is Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. It says the ricks increases with each cycle. I think it might be time for me to rethink this diet.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome can be mild, moderate, or severe:

Thanks for the info. that is a relief. So any ideas what might be causing 2 TOMs a month and craping and spotting? I would really like to stick with it because I am losing but I hate have one a month much less two and I don't want damage my health by trying to get healthy.0 -
Hey- thanks for your responses. I went with the group advice to switch to stevia and I love it~ I am thinking about making a smoothie with green tea, strawberrie, stevia and ice... yum~ maybe a squeeze of lemon too.
I had my doctor appointment this morning and they gave me a shot of vitamins and enzymes, I have lost and inch around the waist and 6.5 pounds for the week~ ROCK ON!

at the end of the diet you have three weeks (called phase 3) where you are no longer taking injections (or some people take liquid drops under the tongue). During that three week period you can eat anything you want EXCEPT sugars and starches. This is the first stabilization period.
The diet is purported to normalize hypothalamus function so this stabilization is part of the process and cannot be ignored (I did this diet once before successfully but ignored the stabilization and hence I've gained it back).
After three weeks of eating that way and NOT gaining more than 2 pounds, you go into phase 4 (another 3 week stabilizing phase) where you can reintroduce starches and sugar into your diet. Again, this phase you should not see weight gains. If you do there are corrective measures to take.
If you haven't read the original document POUNDS AND INCHES by Dr. Simeon, you should. It will give you more information about how he discovered this program, how he developed it, the theory behind it, his practical experiences in treating thousands of patients, why 500 calories a day isn't really 500 calories a day and almost anything else clinically that you might want to know - at least at first.
