I am focusing on core strength, so will be doing squats and crunches every other day. I'm not allowed to run due to a spine condition, but I will hopefully be walking 2 miles 4 times a week.0 -

Okie doke, so here's the skinny on me.

So far I've been with myfitnesspal for about two and a half weeks and so far so good. I got started with the wife because my doctor (who happens to specialize in weight loss, weight management and appears to only have any fat when he's carrying an uncooked marbalized steak) indicated that I am heavy, particularly around the middle. In spite of my protests in that my middle helped my center of gravity, he had some extra blood work done which indicated that I am pre-, pre- diabetic and that I need to cut down the sugar and to particularly to try to give up the soda (!!!). Anyway, this seems to be working for me so far and thankfully my job has been great about being supportive (so much stress that I have to work out just to not throttle someone).
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! And to help get in the habit of complimenting the person ahead of me, sophiemcbarro, great job on your weight loss as it looks like you've lost approximately 25% of your starting weight. Congratulations! to put in in perspective, you've lost 36 pounds, or about 1 medium sized dog, three large cats, about 72 books (librarians are giving a stern look everywhere) or 144 Quarter Pounders (with cheese) from McDonald's. Keep up the good work!0 -
