I'm from Durham 20miles down the road from Newcastle, & its amazing the difference a couple of mile can make because I'm definitely not Geordie! :-)
As for my personal favourite I'd have to go with Irish0 -

Slovenian accent is just amazing, southern accents, British accent's especially Irish and Aussie ones just annoy me something fierce >.<
And neither country is in Britain, so well done.

I'm just here to learn more about people's knowledge of geography :happy:0 -
Female Irish accent. OMG! I'm in love. Especially when they curse. Lol
Come hang around my house then!!! I love a good cup of tea and a curse, there's nothing like it!0 -
Saxon (Sächsisch) is absolutely hilarious. I love hearing it!
"Was? Lös! Was habsch dir gsocht? Du sölst um zwölfe zehause sein!"

My boyfriend sounds like any other Californian when he speaks English, but when he's talking to his family in Russian for some reason I just love it :blushing:0

I like southern American accents, and also Irish, and Italian. Oh, and Australian. I'm English.0 -
Aussie accents are probably top for me. Have a soft spot for Irish and weirdly certain northern accents :P0

Melters: Scottish, Italian, Irish, Texan
Madders: American (except Texan), German, Russian0 -
I'm intrigued to know what a 'British' accent is but I suspect it's people saying 'British' when they mean 'English' and probably thinking of London/South. NAILS ON CHALKBOARD. But not as bad as when English people say 'English' instead of 'British'. i.e. "tea is a very English tradition". NGGGH.
Rant over.0 -
english, definitely english :blushing:
Honestly, there is no such thing as an English accent, it's like saying an American accent, there are so many variations and even the words people say in our tiny country are not understood by all :flowerforyou:0 -

Were you commenting on the original post or my reply? If me maybe its the way I worded it because as an English person living in Australia I've got a bloody good idea of the geography involved

I kinda disagree with this. Yes, there are different accents for different parts of Britain, but each one is British.. they don't' sound American, Italian etc, they are just different variations of British.
PS. my Norfolk accent is hot! hehe0 -
i love scottish on MEN.
dislike liverpudlian (scouse) on anyone0 -
Aussie girls... DAMN!!!
I thought that, until I married one0 -
It's got to be Southern Irish or Australian .
Being a Geordie myself, the Mackem accent has to be the worst. To all you not from the North East of England, we probably all sound the same, but there is a definite difference and it is very annoying to hear Mackems being portrayed as Geordies.0 -
Love all Irish, Scottish and English accents! including all the different types of them e.g Bristol, Liverpool etc
Dislike Kiwi accent, sorry but its CHIPS NOT CHUPS. i kid i kid .. sorta0 -
Majority of British accents..,mmm. I love slight Irish accents too, but once I met someone with a really heavy one and .. not so much.0

New Zealander here! It's cool that so many of you like our Kiwi accents :drinker:
I LOVEEEEE Swedish accents! soo sexy
Can't think off an accent I don't like!0 -
It's funny how people say "British" accents, but to the Brits, the accents from various parts of the country are so so different. I'm from Yorkshire and definitely sounds very different to someone from London.
I have a few American friends though who all sound very similar to me, but they say they sound nothing like.
I have to admit, I do like the softer Scottish and Irish accents.0 -
Guess im an odd ball.
I LOVE southern accents. mmm love the sound of a country boy.
And I can't stand British accents. :noway:0 -
Irish. Utter sucker for it.0
-
I also go for Irish... and Australian accents. I don't like either to be too 'strong' though....mfff.0
