Hooters Girl?

Why not work for a different restaurant where looks don't factor into their hiring process as much? I would never be caught dead in a Hooters, let alone work for one.
what is so wrong with it? It's a family establishment.
This^^^ if you don't like Hooters then don't eat or work there. It is really quite simple.
Op: for the most part the Hooters we have hires women of all different sizes and shapes. They all for the most part have very up bea bubbly personalities. I would say as long as you can wear the uniform and have a good personality you should be fine. I know their uniforms do run a little on the smaller side, but they are supposed to be skin tight. Oh and those tights smoothe everything out. Some girls with smaller chests also double up the push up bras to add volume (I know a few women who put themselves through college by working at hooters). GOOD LUCK!!!0 -
Can they discriminate based on weight? I mean if Abercrombie & Fitch can....
you can discriminate in hiring as long as you are not discriminating against a protected class. Weight being one of the un-protected classes.0 -
last I knew, I think waitresses made like 2.50/hr not including their tips. they depend on regulars. that's why they are so saccharine to everyone.
note: this varies by state. Some states have separate minimum wage scales for servers. Some don't.
I was speaking specifically of the payrate for hooters waitresses. I worked there.
Its a uniform, thats all. Would people rather have these girls get jobs at the strip club? The girls I knew were moms or students just trying to make a living like anyone else.0 -

Yes exactly!0 -
on another note, i'd love to see a restaurant were there were just male waiters that wore tight shorts and the restaurant could be called c0c*s...Their shirts would have a rooster on it. It would be fun and they'd be known for their awesome sausages.
Oh, I'm in on this one!
Aw, I always thought it would be called Peckers and the mascot would be the woodpecker...

how is it a family establishment when their entire sales pitch is made up of girls in tight clothes and their "assets"? It is one step away from a strip club in my mind. I couldn't support a restaurant (breastaurant?) that showcases their employees as pieces of meat instead of respecting them as human beings with brains who just need to make a living. Not trying to start a fight. People can eat there if they want but I take my business elsewhere.:flowerforyou:0 -
Seriously?!
In for judgement.
Proceed.
^ This.
OP - it's a family restaurant. You'll be wearing more than what I see on the girls on the beach here on a daily basis. But I'm from Florida. Where Hooters started. It's casual.0 -
OP- go to their website. It has all the info you need about employment, including an online application. Good luck!0

I would be happy to give you my tip.
Best wishes on achieving your goal.0 -
Decades ago, my cousin put herself through law school working as a Bunny.0

Too lazy to click through all the replies and see if this has been posted or not, so apologies if someone beat me to it:

I'm sure they can't/won't post weight requirements or anything like that, but this can probably give you a general idea of what they're looking for. I would say when you're to the point where you're comfortable wearing a bikini in public, then you're probably to a point where you could apply. That's just my own assumption though.0 -
I like Tilted Kilt better.

There's a restaurant around my area called Tilted Kilt and I think its very similar to hooters , I haven't been there but my husband and our daughters and best friend have been there , the girls all love our daughters they are toddlers, I hear they wear cropped shirts with little school girl like skirts and when they go home at night they are escorted after they change back into there normal attire, I have not gone not because I have issues with those women its a job but when I'm at a table and there is a woman scantly clad in front of me with her stomach not far from me, and her boobs I feel like where I'm I suppose to look , I know her face but eventually I have to stop otherwise its like I'm staring , it would mortify me if another woman thought I was checking her out lol ,sorry guess its just me .
good luck with your endeavor0 -

thanks I was right on the uniform no worse or better than hooters and I hear the food is good0 -
i used to live in a place that had a poor mans hooters... it was called Bazookas0

OP-I have no Hooter's advice, never been to one (although I would like to check it out! I've asked my husband if he wants to go with me before, but I think he just assumed I wasn't serious haha). But I would definitely eat those exercise calories back if you're burning that many per day! Exercise gives me a huge appetite so if I were you, I'd set my weight loss to two pounds a week then eat back all my exercise calories. If there are days when you don't work out, your cals will be low, but from all that exercise you'll still be able to eat alot! My strategy is to each as much as I can while losing or maintaining-I never want to get to the point where I HAVE to eat 1200/day or I'll gain, ya know? Good luck with everything!!0

At least the Hooters uniforms cover the abs . . . from what I hear0 -
Idk much about hooters, but I do know that unless you're from Buffalo, NY, you have no idea what good wings are!! Just had to throw that in there. Sorry, it's all we have lol.0

Thanks to some of you that are actually being nice. And yea it is my goal. Its not my only goal, but it's my motivation. To those being rude and stereotyping me...I do have a great job right now working with alzheimers and dementia residents as a lead care giver while going to school. Applying to law school in a couple years. So to those judging keep it up....im just smiling ;-) Hooters would bea side job.
You took a risk posting this topic, and it brought out the worst of the trolls on this site. I think any goal is a good goal, and I don't think there is a woman out there who wouldn't want a body that would rock a tiny outfit (not all would admit it I'm sure).
And tips can be great at any restaurant - regardless of the uniforms. It's what you bring to the job, a smile and making people feel comfortable. Which incidentally are qualities of successful people in life. Go for it - show everyone, especially yourself, how great you can be.0 -

im so sorry to tell you this but the rest of the USA has long ago passed Buffalo in making good wings. and yes i have eaten at the Anchor Bar. they get huge marks for originating wings but thats about it.0 -

You could work at another place to gain waitressing experience before you feel confident enough to apply for Hooters...As a dude who has been to a fair amount of strip clubs, the atmosphere at Hooters is creepy as hell. Its like a strip club, but minus the dark lights and people bring their kids there. Weird weird weird. And the uniforms are so..NOT flattering to the girls who work there. That 70's cut is lame-just change it to boyshorts Hooters! And the leggings are weird.0

Lol OK. Can I ask why you said that in such a hateful manner? Does your opinion about wings define you? I just made a lighthearted comment in a sea of hurtful ones. Anchor bar isn't even that good anyways. Everyone in Buffalo knows that.0 -

I was going to bring this up as well. I'm in Canada and weight is not protected (went all through this when my cousin was threatened to be fired if she gained more weight).0 -

Some people just want to make some decent money while they go to school.0 -
