Because interlocking parts are meant to interlock.

IMO there is not ALWAYS something underlying, just 90% of the time, on one end or the other. I have maybe 1 or 2 guys friends and I know a few guys, where I know that NOTHING would or could ever happen because I would never want it to. The rest I don't talk to much because it is one of those I am not currently interested in you because I am with someone else but if I wasn't with someone else then I wouldn't count you off the table type deal...

MOST of the time if two people of the opposite sex are good friends, one of them has a crush or has had a crush at one point or another. Now this is MOST of the time and not ALL the time, depending on the maturity of the people etc. Also just because people are not cheating or aren't intending on ever cheating, doesn't mean there isn't a tiny little something at the back of their minds. It is human nature and we are all programmed to be attracted to people of the sex we are attracted to and just because we have found a life partner it doesn't mean that, that goes away. it is all how you deal with it.

My partner and I recently came to an understanding (he was the one who wanted it this way) That we believe men and women truly can't be friends unless its other couple type friends (he doesn't trust me...for no reason I might add, I am not a cheater) so he doesn't talk to any girls I don't know and I won't talk to guys he doesn't know. It doesn't need to be this way but it does eliminate and jealousy and whatnot and is appropriate for us.

I suppose they CAN be, but where's the fun in that?

Seriously, I cannot be just friends with men or women I'm attracted to. Doesn't happen. I ply them with liquor and have my way with them every time. My only REAL friends are hideously misshapen, just to avoid that very situation.

It depends on who you ask. Lots of girls are great friends with boys, who then go out and complain to their guy friends about being friendzoned.

I know it goes the other way, too, but being a girl I see it more from this side.

OP do you want to have sex with every man you see? If not there's your answer.

And even in spite of attraction we, as human beings have control over our behaviour and can choose not to act on our desires. Some choose to, others don't, but it certainly can, and has been, done.

No. Only about 3/4ths of them! LOL.

I agree. Behavior can be controlled. It just seems like women are judged when they have a male friend outside of a primary relationship (more than men are). But maybe I feel that way, because I'm a girl and that's my perspective.

That would require me to bang against the door. I prefer to press the doorbell first.
