I`m trying to convince a friend that working out with heavy weight for women will NOT make you bulky. Can you send along your pics! I would love to show her how right I am!

I'm just getting started seriously working with the weights. I just bought my very first barbell, and I'm about ready to move up from my 10 lb dumbbells... holla!

So in so I can remind myself of the awesomeness ahead (hopefully) when I get intimidated or discouraged.

    You ladies rock!:drinker:

I lift weights. I'm not bulky. See my profile pics. The ones with the blue headband are the most recent of all (including the one it is set at now). I do mostly lower body and compound lifts. And also body weight exercises as well (such as pushups).

I don't lift as heavy as some of the ladies here. But, I do lift heavy for me. And heavy enough that people that see me at the gym are like: Wow!

Most of my lifts are in the intermediate/advanced ranges for my weight class. Bench is lagging behind, almost to intermediate, because of my surgical history, but it's catching up.

here's one of me with enormous delts and biceps

and here's one of my bulky man-physique

Ladies, when trying to show people that lifting doesn't make you bulky, don't show photos where you flex.
It doesn't look bulky to your eye, because you're thinking lady-bodybuilder bulky. But some of the people who fear bulk are actually just afraid of the cut look, where you can see the muscles.

Show your relaxed photos that show what you look like on a daily basis.

The flexed photos are awesome in general, but not for this purpose. Sometimes they are detrimental to the effort.

Wha......!? If I were to post a pic, I'd post anyway I was proud to post. If I was dead lifting 200 pounds you bet I'm gonna be proud of my muscles.

Lack of "cut looking " muscles is fairly easy to achieve, just don't move much and they'll atrophy a bit.

That's the point, though... when flexed the muscle looks entirely different than when not flexed. I can make myself look bulky, but when I'm not lifting, there's no bulk there.

I don't lift as heavy as some of the awesome ladies on here YET...but I'm working on it. I don't think I look bulky.

Some recent bikini pics, all taken after I started lifting..
