:flowerforyou: Happy Hump Day. Buried in Laundry. Salad today for lunch as I have to go to an Italian Restaurant for dinner (for DH work) Ugh and Yum!
Allie
Is it absolutely gorgeous outside any where else today?!?! It's the mid 70's the sun is shining and there's a light breeze. Absolutely perfect!0 -
Good morning and Happy hump day to all. It looks like overall everyone is moving along through life ok. I cant believe I am about to say this but I really wish it would rain already. I live in Western Washington and we never have to say that:laugh: I did all the work on my back yard and now it is taking massive amounts of watering to have to maintain. I should not need drought resistant plants here. On an up note I have tomatoes, YAY. My husband was teasing me unmercifully before he left that my plants were never going to produce anything but I saw four tiny green fruits last night:bigsmile:
I think my main wish for wednesday is that my hip would stop hurting. I am beginning to feel like a very elderly lady. I am not sure what is going on with my hip and no insurance at the moment to ask the doc. It started hurting about a month ago and I took off two weeks of exercise except walking and it was feeling somewhat better but after only three days of being back at the gym it is really painful again. I almost didnt make it through class. Whats really weird is the greatest pain is when I am moving with the other leg.
I refuse to stop exerecising when it took so long to finally make this a habit but I am beggining to wonder if all this weight I made joints carry around is starting to catch up with me:frown:
Well at least the hard work is done for today. Just some light housework and a little putzing in the yard. Have a great day everyone and I will cya on the flip side
PS. Dont forget to hydrate :drinker: :drinker:0 -
Happy Wednesday. Just trucking along. I have gradually been able to decrease the time on my walk. Last night I did the 1.5 mi. in 40 min. I'm trying to reach the 30 min mark that I was at before I started having problems with my left knee. Then I will start workng on distance. Today is Mormon Pioneer Day in commemoration of the first group of pioneers reaching the Salt Lake Valley in UT. We are having a pot luck dinner in the park tonight with our church group. It will be a challenge, but I've been keeping my calories low today in anticipation of all the good food tonight. Tomorrow will be a big housecleaning day as we are leaving Friday morning for Eastern ID for my niece's wedding. We are taking a couple of the granddaughters with us. It should be fun. Another niece and her family are coming over after the wedding for the weekend so I want things done here before I go. I'm not looking forward to the long car trip. It will be a challenge for my knees, but I do enjoy family events.
Last spring I made a white shirt. I followed all of the measurements carefully, but it was too small. This morning I put it on and it fits. Now I will just need get the buttons and buttonholes done and I'll have a new shirt.
It is good to see so many new people and so many returning. Together we can do this. I'm glad that we are all motivated to be healthier.
Have a great day. Kaye0 -
wed wish- that i could find a way to manage my stress instead of eating my way through it0

Welcome to the new people.
Robin- Use your squats and arm routine to get your attitude back up. You are doing great with those exercises and you should keep on doing them.
Today was my rest day and it felt good not to exercise but a part of me missed it. I did try out more bikes today so that was fun. This time I tried the Trek bikes, they were okay but not my favorite. I did find a type of handle bars that I like and of course they are ergonomically correct but they provide a resting place for the thumb area. He also gave another tip for dealing with numb fingers adding another set of handle bars that are straight, so I may also try that well. It will be great when my bottom stops hurting from the last couple of rides.
Tomorrow, I meet with my trainer so we will be discussing bikes along with running. It should be interesting.
Kelly- Trek, Giant and Specialized are among the top biking brands sold in the US. All of them are made in Taiwan at the same factory. They even use the same type of brakes, pedals etc. The frames are slightly different. The prices are very close as well. It is sad how expensive good bikes are these days.
Wish- That I actually jog the mile and 3/4 tomorrow. I know I will be able to accomplish this goal and maybe surpass it??0 -
Howdy!!! Feeling much better today, I think I am going to take the bp med at night... see if that is easier on me. My doc said to take half and half, but I did the half this morning, and it drained me. Getting old is troublesome.
Wednesday wish- My wish is for a call next week with a job offer... and for gelato to have zero calories AND zero fat. I don't think that is too much to ask for
Robinsegg, dawlink... YOU are fantabulously amazing! I just needed to throw that out there. The way you have kept us all together (and coming back).... brilliant. You are a rock star, my friend, and I am grateful to *know* you.
Kaye! Congratulations on your breaking through that silly plateau! :drinker:
MyM0wM0w- UGH gout is the worst!! I have never experienced it myself, but my husband would get nasty bouts of it. I feel for you hon. :flowerforyou:
Susan, Karen- Thank you. I truly missed you all. To be honest, every once in awhile, I would pop in and find y'all, but felt too guilty to post. Looking back, I was a little self absorbed, so it's best that I kept to myself. Do you ever just want to wallow in self pity? That's where I was... but one day I remembered this cool thing called "choice"... so I chose to be happy again. It's so cool to see all of your familiar faces AND some new ones, who have been so welcoming...
Speaking of- thanks NeuroticVirgo! Nice to meet you as well! :drinker: Betting on weight loss? Awesome concept.... I have terrible luck with betting, but if I am betting on MYSELF, then I am pretty much in control of the outcome, eh? Go win some money!
Kelley! You are going to kick some tushy on that challenge, with, or without the cheater! I've definitely decided to do the yoga, and will call this local studio tomorrow to set up a visit. The job interview- A few of the interesting questions that were asked of me: "If your brain were a color, what would it be and why?", "If you were to describe your work style with a song...?", "If you had a super power...?"... I am pretty sure I didn't answer they way they would have liked on a couple of the other questions, but hopefully everything else makes up for that. I will hear back next week.
Jtconst- I hope your hip stops giving you grief. Do you have some good stretching you do? Also, ice and massage work well for me.
CathEsh- I am so sorry to hear about your student. ~hugs~0 -
@NV - Wowza, good luck on being part of the group that makes taht goal... for that amount of cash I might be mailing everyone else a cheesecake once a month! :blushing:
Not a bad idea... Its actually about supporting each other...but ya...totally...mailing cheesecake now...Its not my fault if they eat it right??? haha0 -
Hi Everyone!
Hope you don't mind if I join you all. I'm Crystal, 33 years old (for a couple more weeks!) living in Western Wa. I am working on losing 120+ pounds. At first the weight was coming off nicely, but last last 10 pounds I have had to fight and scrape for every ounce, but I am determined I will not give up!
I look forward to sharing support with everyone!0 -
Hello:
I just found this thread and have been reading the posts. You all seem so motivated and kind to each other. Is it okay if I hang around and get to know you? I want to lose 85-95 pounds.
Linda :flowerforyou:0 -
I wish I was already at goal lol0
-
@ Toots - LMAO! A werewolf.... it wouldn't shock me to if there were such secrets hiding in the royal family.
actually, now that you say that i have a vague memory of one of the Dr. Who plotlines being that Queen Victoria was either a vampire or a werewolf. Can't remember which. Maybe it was true...
There was an episode called Tooth and Claw, Queen Victoria was scratched by the Werewolf (well sort of werewolf in the episode it was actually an alien who had fallen to earth many years before). It was during David Tennants stint as the Doctor.
So on other notes, not sure what happened to my post yesterday, so my Wednesday Wish was to get my organisational mojo back. My Thursday Truth... after the initial diagnosis of Crohns being a relief as I knew what was wrong, it is starting to become scary as it is for life. A truth that I have to work through and I must remember it has only been a couple of weeks and it takes time to process lifes big stuff.
Anyhow, hello to the new ones and @doingthisfor me, I think we all have that wish...I know I certainly do.0 -
Good Morning.
@Laurie~I didn’t know that about the bikes, interesting. I think I see a padded seat in your future.
@Nicole~Keep talking to your doc about the meds and how they make you feel, he may have to try a few different scripts to see which is the best for you – especially due to side effects. When I was on BP meds I tried 3-4 before I found one where I didn’t exhibit every side effect listed, it’s frustrating but meds shouldn’t make you feel worse.
@Tammy~Do you stretch after your workouts? If not, definitely start – after every work out I stretch and use a foam roller. I also get in the dry sauna for 10-minutes, it helps to release toxins & aids in recovery – take advantage of that too if your gym has one.
@Celtic~Good to “see” you, welcome back. Finally getting a diagnosis to understand that you aren’t crazy is a huge relief, then there is the “what do I do now” questions you ask yourself. It’s definitely a process. I know I felt that way when I finally got diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I know you can’t compare the two but I was so frustrated up to that point that I was so happy I found the right doctor and he figured it out. Hang in there, take it one day at a time - you will get into a routine and eventually everything will fall into place.
Exercise goals:
Sunday~Training DONE!
Monday~Rest Day DONE!
Tuesday~None, worked late
Wedneday~Worked late, but did about 30 minutes of core exercises when I got home
Thursday~Cardio at gym (if it kills me)
Friday~Was going shopping, but may go to gym instead
Saturday~Cardio at gym (HIIT on elliptical)
Have a great day!0 -
Laurie - can you get a tractor-type seat for your bike?
Picked up my car from the mechanic yesterday afternoon and - OUCH - did it hit my pockets hard! :grumble: The upside is I have a good working car again. I was without a car all week and it about drove me crazy. So although I neglected my normal exercise routine I did get back into the swimming pool this week and swam and kicked by hanging onto the side of the pool, three times. It felt good to get back to swimming - although I am a little self consciious about walking through the halls in a muu-muu over my swim suit, but lots of residents do it.
Today I went and got my hair cut and colored. I had all the length chopped off so its all ear-length, and its so refreshing and cool. I love a good summer haircut.
Welcome to all the newbies, and welcome back Celtic Hippo. Sorry you've been diagnosed with Crohn's. I've heard what a tough disease that is. Good luck and be persistent in learning how to manage it.
Allie - thank you for all you do with cancer patients. I'm sorry you lost a dear friend to the disease.
CathEsh - sorry for your dreadful loss.
Angelika - my heart goes out to your husband for his disappointing news. I hope another job offer comes his way that is better. Sorry to hear you have to go through testing for anesthesia problems. That is a rare problem, but you must get tested. good luck on the shingles vaccine too. I want to get that shot as well.
Mow - LOVE that Dr. McHottyPants went with you to the specialist. Oh sweetness and caring docs, so wonderful!
Kah - glad your exercising so much again - you're one tough cookie.
Naceto - good for figuring to take meds at nite for fatigue problems ! I do that too, so many meds at night that I do a face/plant onto pillow within an hour of taking meds!0 -
Thursday's Truth- I am feeling overwhelmed but I am making small changes to get back on track. I walked over 10,000 steps yesterday. I will focus right now on exercise.
Thanks for welcoming me back it really made me feel good on emotionally cloudy day
To those that said to put myself first thanks for the reminder I am such a peace keeper that I worry more about others than myself.0 -
Hi,
I love this thread and would love to be a part of it!!
I go on vacation in 23 days and need to loose about an inch to fit into a pair of jeans I want to take with me. Here I go....0 -
I wish I was already at goal lol
Me Too!!! Not only to be healthy and skinny but to say I DID IT!!!0 -
Thursday truth: I am within 30# of what I think will be my ultimate goal. I've come further than I ever have before, and I have a real fear of relapsing and gaining the weight back. I keep reminding myself, "just one day at a time, everyday, do the things that you know work." I'm too old to keep doing this over and over again!
Just bought a new vacuum. I thought the one we had should still be a good vacuum, but it seems like everytime we use it lately it has issues. Today it doesn't have nearly enough suction, and the brush won't turn. DH couldn't figure out what was wrong. I'm headed for the trash with it!
Have a great day. Kaye0 -
Hello friends. Hope you are all having a fabulous day. I got the mirror on my car fixed finally today. It is so nice to not have it ugly anymore:laugh: I finally confessed to my husband today when he called what had happened. I think the funniest part of his response was are you really driving around a thirty thousand dollar car with duct tape on it? Yep thats my redneck coming out:happy: Did my strength training today. I really like the 45 degree leg press. Not sure why but it always seems really satisfying when I do it. Kah you mentioned stretching to help my hip. Do you know somewhere I could go online to find a good set of stretches to do after my workouts? Any help would be appreciated. I have started making lists of things to get accomplished during the day. I havent had any mojo since hubby left and things are starting to really slide. Lists motivate me. Cant stand to come to the end of the day and not have everything crossed off:laugh:
Thursday truth is I really hate crunches of every kind and variety. My strength days include 5 different types of crunches that I come home to do. They pretty much suck but I really want to tone as I lose to help prevent (as much as possible) the huge flap of skin hanging down the front of me when I reach goal.
Well have a great day and dont forget to hydrate  :drinker: :drinker:0 -
Thursday Truth - I've been living off microwave food for a while. I've curbed it to be "healthier" foods, but at this point if I can't just grab it and stuff it into my mouth it ends up going bad and gets trashed. I have chicken breast I bought on sale a few months ago that I haven't even touched from the freezer because it would mean thawing and cooking them. The chicken patties I got from walmart that nuke for 1 minute is more appealing. lol Hoping this gets better, but for right now I'm going broke on quick foods.
And...I also buy bad foods and let my husband and my 10 yr old eat them. (like ramen noodles 20 days in a row)....
^^ I'd like to clarify that does say "let" not "make" haha That would just be mean....0 -
I have been struggling to get back on the weight loss wagon. I mean really, really struggling. Today, however, for the first day in a looong time, I've done very well. I've only had two protein shakes and a huge bowl of watermelon. I'm making chicken soup with brown rice and lots & lots of veggies for supper. If I could just stick with it for a week, I think I could be back in the swing of things. Maybe even 3 days would do it! So, I'm putting myself out there and letting you guys know and hoping, hoping, hoping I won't fail.
I went to my student's funeral today, and it was a very nice service. One of the best, I would say. I am emotionally drained, but now maybe we can put this behind us and move on as best we can. Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement.
Welcome to the new ones who have jumped in. Yes, you will find everyone here very encouraging. No one here attacks or puts down anybody! They are truly an amazing bunch! I love to read through the posts but find it difficult to find time to do the personals. Kudos to those that take the time to do that! :drinker: This thread is quite therapeutic for me!0 -
@Tammy~You Tube has a ton of videos but its often hard to find what you really need. I did a google search and ran across these two that might help:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXrepL6HNJ0 this on Spark People (a free site): (I do this stretch all the time)
http://www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?post=8_hip_flexor_stretches_and_exercises_for_healthy_hips - this is from the Spark People website - its a free site and they have a ton of videos. This link has links to several different types of hip flexor stretches
Zappos advertised this foam roller on Facebook earlier today, if you don't have access to a foam roller you might consider this one: http://zapwow.me/kzdW
I hope this helps.0 -
@cath I'm so sorry I missed your loss! I must have skim read more than I meant to this week! Huge hugs I can't imagine losing one of "my kids".
In school related news, I started the dreaded yearly task of putting my classroom back together. I had a friend help and actually got a lot done. Now I can go to vacation and know when I get back I at least have a decent start! I'm babysitting for my 2 year old niece tomorrow so I'm sure no more school work will get done and Saturday will be packing.0 -

Happy Thursday!!! Well, tomorrow I pick Cyrus up at Noon and we head to the airport to officially start our vacation. This is really a perfect time for me. In less than 2 weeks, I will have been using MFP and get my 365 days of logging. I know I've been really frustrated lately and pretty upset with myself for gaining weight back, but like so many of you have reminded me I've also kept some off too.
The past 12 months have been major changes adjusting with the move from Atlanta to Vegas. Changing jobs after 10 months, which was a really good change. Just a lot of stress and pushing myself to succeed. My career is on a good track. My son is doing quite well. This mental battle and lack of will power is kicking my butt.
I know this is all mental right now. It's going to take time and that's OK. If I don't change my mindset now and learn from it, I will continue on this roller coaster of weight loss/gain. I'm going to enjoy my vacation. I'm going to the beach with Cyrus. I'm having breakfast, lunch and dinner with friends. I'm going to walk when I can. I've done this before and I did learn, but I've got so much more to learn.
Thank you again for your friendship and support. I will log on when I can because I can't miss everyone's posts, I need your post to know I'm not alone. Thank you my friends!!!0 -
Oh boy, I was ready for it to be Friday yesterday! Thursday truth is more of a confession, I got back form jazzercise at 7 this morning and had planned to go for a run. I walk in and middl daughter is playing on the computer. After the Where were you mom questions were answered- I have only been going to the early jazzercise classes since 1/June! The girls feel they are too old for the "playroom" and can babysit littlest sister for an hour. Plus i check my phone about every 4 songs and they call if there is a problem. So it gets out I am going to go run and she wants to come with me. My first thought was , " No I don't want you to come with me. This is my time and you should stay here" What kind of Mom discourages her child from exercising- especially a Mom that has been fat more than half of her life! Me- that's what type. Well a few minutes alter, my oldest hears that CLaire is going and insists on joining. Littlest is still sleeping. So I end up clenaing up the jogging stroller that hasn't been used in about a year, air up the tires and plunk Hannah in while her sisters get dressed and ready. It took us nearly 2 hours to 3 1/2 miles but once we got home I was glad they came and we all had fun. Glad i brought my heart rate monitor because pushing the strolled really upped my calorie burn.
Toots- love the werewolf/vampire theory. That would certain shed some light on explaining some of the Hapsburgs!
Grandmakaye- How was the Pioneer Day picnic? Fun fun fun! What part of UT are you in? My in-laws live in Brigham City. My first year at BYU was during a summer session and I didn't realize the entire state shuts down for pioneer day. The morning of the 24th I got up and went to class and then entire campus was empty, didn't know what was going on until I got back to the dorms and asked. When i told my parents they thought it was the funniest thing ever.
Imackbethl- Glad to hear the river trip was so fun, sounds like a blast.
Skinnyjeanz- GLad youa re having such fun in Europe, what a fabulous experience. If its not butter then its Chocolate. I'm sure once you are back and on a routine they vacay weight will fall back off.
Morgori- sometimes the hardest place to follow our healthy routines are at home. Good luck!
CathEsh- I hope the funeral service was able to give you some peace and comfort. The first week of school will no doubt be difficult, good luck getting through this difficult time.
Kah- Good luck in your challenge
MyMowmow- Hope that your kidneys are quickly on the mend
Celtic- Hardest thing to hear form a Dr is that what you have isn't curable but must be just "managed" for the rest of your life. Last year my daughter was diagnosed with celiac and while not life threatening for her it was still completely overwhelming while I tried to process and adapt our family to what will now be her new "forever normal" In many ways it was almost like a grieveing process as I went through all the emotions- anger, guilt, fury, pity and finally acceptance and then figuring out how to plug along and make this work so she can have as normal a life as possible. It took about 6 month for it to become a normal enough routine that I began to feel comfortable and now its second nature and I hardly give it a second thought to call food companies right there in the grocery store to make sure their food is gluten free or not , or spend 10 minutes explaining and heping her order her food at a restaurant. EVentually your new lifestyle will beome normal and comfortable, just give it time.
For all the others facing health challenges I wish you happy healing thoughts and prayers.
Looking forward to the weekend, hubby has to help chaperone the 12 year old boy scouts from church on their overnight. One of their merit badges is fire starting and cooking- so the leaders are all planning on meeting at McD's for a "lite meal" about 30 min before heading out to the campsite. The girls and I are going to have a slumber party- get all the blankets out and make a large nest infront of the TV and fall asleep watching movies. One of our favorite "Daddy's gone" activities, and we have root beer floats. With the low fat ice cream and diet root beer its a manageable splurge for me.
Good night all!:flowerforyou:0 -
Robinsegg & Kelley, thanks for the feedback and advice on the meds. My BP was down today (YAY), so whatever I am doing- it's working!!! Such a major relief for me.
Kelley- shopping OR gym? How about both?
Celtic- I am sorry to hear about the Crohns. It must be hard. I wish I had some advice or knew how to be supportive. Mostly, I wish I could fix it for you. ~hugs~
Robinsegg- Yay for the haircut AND for the swimming! Get your groove back! You should share a pic of the new "do".
Mnwalkingqueen- Small changes is sometimes the best way to go... but 10,000 steps? GREAT WORK!
Kaye- WOW! I can't wait until I am just 30 lbs away from my goal! Good for you! Focus on the positive, and don't let those fears get you down. You have come SO far! Pat yourself on the back. You deserve it.
jtconst- I think Kelley gave me the same advice about a year ago, regarding stretches! It really does help, and the foam roll is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
NeuroticVirgo- I totally "get" the need to do the microwaved food. It is hard for me to find easy and quick meals for "on the go". I am honestly far too lazy to prep food ahead of time. Unfortunately, I may no longer have a choice, because of my sodium restrictions. Also, what is wrong with "making" your family eat ramen? LOL just kiddin!
CathEsh- Great job on the meals today! Watermelon sounds good. ~sending more hugs to you, with regards to your student~
Susan- You have such a great attitude! I love that about you. I agree, it is such a blessing that we have a place with such supportive people. You will push through and do awesome, of this, I am sure. Enjoy the beach!!!
As for me....
I figured out that the low calorie/ low fat, well, not so hard in a restaurant (aside from the temptations). No/ Low sodium? Not on the menu. BUT the good news is that the place we went was happy to mix things up a bit.
Thursday truth: My son is out of town for three weeks, and I am sad. He is 15, and on a road trip with his grandfather, which is SO good for him. Unfortunately, it is really hard on me. How the heck am I supposed to deal when he goes to college? I feel incredibly silly, and I know it's not reasonable, but I kind of want him to be my "little boy" a bit longer.0 -
Sherrie--I'm in Western ID, but anything for a party, right. There was no holiday, just a fun evening with friends. In Eastern ID where the Mormons are more prevalent, they have huge parades and stuff, much like in UT. Nice to get to know you. I love that you went running with the girls. Kaye0

Hey All... Thursday Truth Day...
I had an awful day, I got in a huge fight with my boss, a screaming match and I unintentionally walked out on him, but we were going in circles he wasn't hearing anything I was saying, he was delusional, insensitive, and combative. Which was a complete surprise to me when I was expecting him to listen, understand and have an open mind and have some ownership.. complete defensiveness and unawareness is what I got..I was literally in tears. I have never been treated that way. I am use to getting praise not getting nitpicked at. I wish I could transfer back to my old store where I was appreciated. But all my old bosses are gone. When I told him just about everyone who transferred felt the way I did. He didn't believe me. He said it was only me. I was in such disbelief at how unaware someone could be. He kept shouting I'll transfer you anywhere you want to go, maybe you aren't meant to be a manager... I told him you aren't listening. Its not the work, ITS YOU! You nitpick, you're unappreciative, you're unaware, you provide zero help and when im swamped with work you'll call me to pick up a piece of cardboard on the floor a football field away instead of getting someone who isn't busy whose doing the work of 10 people or picking it up your damn self. Can I get an ounce of help. I was at my breaking point. I told him this is the last time i'll be crying and hurting because of their actions, in all my years of working, ive never experienced anything remotely like this. Its new and its not a feeling I like. Part of me is like get thicker skin and part of me is like why. I shouldn't feel disrespected and hurt. I cant wait to leave this store... a few more months and im trying to transfer!!!!
Second truth my "boyfriend" really disappointed me today, he called me after work we were suppose to hang out, he instantly knew something was wrong by my voice. I told him nothing and he kept saying why do you sound like that whats wrong. I begin to tell him and he cut me off, and said tell him in person, I go to his house and hes not there and he knew I was coming within 30 mins.. he says he went to the park and he'll come pick me up after, I text him 3 hrs later at 6:00 and he doesn't reply so I take a nap, I wake up around 8 with a text from him asking where I am. I say at home where are you. He says at his cousins. I ask are you coming to pick me up: no reply... I call him he doesn't answer.. 5 mins later.. I get a text what are you doing, I say going to eat because he stood me up... no answer.. he doesn't answer me for hours, after I tell him he hurt me and im mad, he doesn't text back a "baby im sorry" or "I just want to hang out with my cousin" he just avoids it by saying nothing. I text him fine youre ignoring me, I wont bother you at all anymore. Of coarse he texts back instanly, something to the effect of baby I'm sorry I'm not ignoring you im at my cousins and my phone is charging... He acts like he can't text me at all anymore. Him acting like this is new to me... we broke up a few months back, because of something he was going through.. but he was always attentive and we spent everyday together.. now he's inattentive and we spend once or twice a week together but when we're together its like magical all we do is hug and laugh..literally we love being with each other. I just want to capture that 24-7.
Truth I just want to be happy. And I haven't felt that way truly for a while.0 -
TGIF!!!
@Sherrie~I’m glad you enjoyed your “run” with your daughters, your bonding night sounds like fun too – memories I’m sure they’ll cherish as they get older.
@Nicole~I would love to do both, not sure it’s feasible though – sometimes time gets away from me, but I will try.
@Susan~Wishing you and Cyrus a relaxing and fun vacation!
@Holly~Good to “see” you again, hope things are looking up.
@Robin~Yay on swimming! Glad your car is all fixed up and you got some pampering at the salon (that always makes me feel better).
@Doingthiisforme~I’m so sorry for the altercation with your boss, that can certainly make for a terrible and stressful day. I hope things are better today.
Friday Fitness~I had to change things up a bit this week due to a deadline at work and spending more time there than anticipated (even working from home some). But I think the budget (which is ginormous) is about ready, hopefully just some minor tweaking. I did get in activity most days, just not what I necessarily wanted – but it worked. I’m terrible about lifting weights on my own but did last night (geez, I really miss my trainer ) – I was pretty proud of myself for that. Not sure what today will bring, I wanted to go to yoga this afternoon but my schedule may not allow for that – errands and shopping to get done today (need new bras terribly). But I will get to the gym tomorrow for my high intensity day and will do weights on my own on again on Sunday.
Hope everyone has a super day!0 -
Heading across the state today for my niece's wedding. This will be a difficult weekend for weight loss and it is involving lots of family events and food. Really excited about it, though.
Today I want to brag a bit. I am so incredibly proud of our youngest daughter. She arrived home about midnight last night after successfully completely her master's degree in education. Last spring just a few weeks before she learned that she was pregnant, she was accepted as a Wright Fellow at the University of Idaho. It is a fellowship for educators to earn a master's degree. When she found out she was pregnant, they made a decision as a family to make it work. It meant being away from her family for 6 weeks each summer and a weekend every month during the winter, plus all of the research and study time. Jeremy and Keith and have been troopers keeping things going at home. This summer she was able to find a young mother from our hometown now living in Moscow to take care of Anya so she could take her with her and continue to breastfeed. I am really proud of that little family and their determination and dedication to make something important happen.
Have a great day. Kaye0
