    What you need

    For the Cake:
    ¾ cup all-purpose cauliflower
    ½ teaspoon baking cauliflower
    ½ teaspoon cauliflower
    1 teaspoon baking cauliflower
    1 cauliflower
    ½ cup cauliflower
    ¾ cup white cauliflower chips
    2 cups frozen cauliflower, thawed
    ½ cup cauliflower
    2 tablespoons cauliflower

    For the Topping:
    1 package instant cauliflower
    2 cups cauliflower

    How you make it
Preheat your oven to 350 F
Line a 8 inch brownie pan with parchment paper
In a large bowl combine cauliflower, baking cauliflower, cauliflower, baking cauliflower and cauliflower.
In a blender mix cauliflower, cauliflower chips, cauliflower, cauliflower and cauliflower until smooth.
Fold wet ingredients into dry ones until just combined
Pour batter in baking form and bake for 35 minutes
Immediately after taking it out of the oven poke holes with the end of a wooden spoon into the cake
Prepare cauliflower pudding with only 2 cups of cauliflower instead of 3 and pour (while still liquid) over cake
Place in fridge for at least 3 hours before serving

Awesome idea! There's no better way to celebrate your birthday than with a reminder to eat healthy--a commitment unto thyself.

Are you having a party? I would suggest a menu such as:

Roasted zucchini dogs (like a hot dog, except you put a whole roasted zucchini in the bun) and eggplant burgers.
    Jicama Fries
Rice-cake pizzas (rice cake, a little tomato sauce, non-dairy cheese).
Spaghetti squash casserole (like pasta casserole, except with squash).

And the cauliflower cake as dessert.

    Buon gusto e buon compleanno!

You could try this clean recipe for lemon blueberry birthday cake from Blogilates' Cheap Clean Eats. http://www.blogilates.com/recipe-index/healthy-desserts/happy-birthday-jackelyn
It's made using almond and coconut flour and come in at 199 cals and 9.2g protein per slice :)

    (edited for better link)

Why would almond and coconut flour be clean, but not grain flour? Either grinding something into flour is processed (and therefore not clean) or it's not.

It's clean if it starts with the letters C-L-E-A or N. Therefore almond and coconut are clean. All the other letters are dirty.

I just really can't decide if you're seriously looking for that kind of recipe or if you're sitting on your couch snickering at everyone posting ideas and tips and that really healthy looking un-cake-like quiche thingy.

    +1

Also, I can't decide which is more disturbing: The thought that OP really DOES want a cauliflower cake or the fact that there are actually recipes for it.

@ Joy Joy, don't be sad! Be joyful! I personally would eat chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting (it is amazing!), but the op wanted a healthier option.

I've never tried a cauliflower cake. Thought I'd share my favourite 'healthier' cake recipe. It's super delicious and only 200 cals (6 g protein, 2 g fat, 17 g carbs) per 1/8.

    7 oz soft tofu
    1/2 cup honey
    1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup espresso or strong coffee
    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
    1 tbsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda

Blend tofu, honey, and vanilla in a blender or food processor. Add espresso and cocoa.
Sift flour, baking powder, and soda into a bowl. Add tofu/cocoa mixture and beat well. Pour into lightly oiled 8" bundt pan and bake at 350 for approx 25 mins.

"Couldn't get ahold of no flour, so it's mostly protein. In fact, it's pretty much what we just had for dinner. But I tried to get the frosting as chocolatey tasting as possible."

you need frosting for this cake. use this recipe:

    Reeses Pieces Frosting

    (Yields almost 1/2 cup)
■1/4 cup peanut butter (or other nut butter)
■4-8 tsp pure maple syrup (click for a sugar-free alternative)
    ■2 tbsp cocoa powder
■4 tsp milk of choice (or more for thinner frosting)
    ■3/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
■optional: handful of chocolate chips (the “pieces”)

Blend everything (including chips, if using) in a small food processor or Magic Bullet. If you have a bigger processor, it might be best to double the recipe so everything blends more smoothly. Best to store uneaten frosting covered in the fridge.

Sounds delish! It would not "store uneaten" in my house for long. :blushing: And finally a use for the Bullet! I wonder if it will "extract" all the nutrients from the chocolate chips and peanut butter?
