What a woman says to a man:
"Hey, you like great, I really like your legs."
What a guy hears:
"I want you to bang me like there's no tomorrow."0 -
I compliment men, not because I want to bang them, just to make them feel self conscious and vulnerable.0

I get loads.
And sometimes I get compliments too.0 -
I only compliment the ones I want to bang. So....yeah.0

Whiteknights bro......whiteknights ruining it for all of us.

I was reading all the comments and it got me to thinking about when I was +65 pounds. I rarely received a compliment on my looks. I was always told your sweet, nice kind etc. Now that I am 5 sizes smaller I receive all kinds of complements from men and women alike. I even have had a few guys check me out...the first time that happened I thought there was something wrong with what I was wearing.
So, when I get a chance a always try to compliment male or female because it is a huge encouragement when one is trying to lose weight or staying in shape.
Now don't get me wrong there are lot of hot, good looking, sexy muscular men on here and I rarely say anything because one I am
afraid they will get the wrong impression and I lack the confidence that they would want to hear a compliment from me.0 -
well if we want to generalize over a whole population... lets have at er...
Many women feel an intense pressure to live up to an ideal that is unattainable. We think we need to have a perfect body, home, job, etc. The social expectations on us are huge, and most cannot live up to it. So we struggle with self esteem issues.
In order to feel better about ourselves, we look to others to build us up with kind words, and we often reach out to others to help build them up too. Women complimenting women is common - and very easy to do. Women complimenting men is often perceived as a hit on, either by other women or by the men themselves.
On a site like this, where you have a lot of women complimenting men who don't typically get complimented in real life, there is no real back lash for being complimentary to the opposite sex, but you also end up seeing a lot more emotional relationships developing in people who have outside commitments.
Men often don't compliment men because it's often not perceived as a "manly" thing to do. Men often compliment women because we crave the confirmation that we're good enough, and because it's a great way to open a relationship.
Is that generalized, sweeping, and broad enough to insult a few people?

Because every time I've complimented a guy he's taken it as hitting on him and then they start heavily hitting on me.0

Because its a gender stereotype that men should be giving compliments not the other way around.
Try gay clubs. You might get enough compliments and admires there.
Hmmm do we get free drinks there too?0 -
