Does it bother anyone...

I know that MFP depends on ads to help pay for this site, but really McDonalds... I keep seeing "Customer Appreciation Day" adds for buy one, get one for $ 0.25 for Big Macs or Quarter Pounders.... don't they know that this is hard for some people (like me!)....

Does this bother anyone else? or is it just bothering me?

The ads come from your search history and not from MFP. So if you goggled mcdonalds or even calories in fast food it might cause the ad to come up. Right now personally, I have an ad for replica star trek uniforms.

If you google vaccumns, you'll see vaccumns. If you've looked at vacation packages recently... magically those will be the ads!

I have ads for plus sized women's clothing.

Explain THAT one? At what point did I search for plus sized women's clothing? (Hint: I didn't). I've never even looked up plus sized clothing. Or women's clothing. Yet there on the side is an ad for "Zulily's" advertising clothes for big women.

Hmmm I have wiltshire farm foods, which do meals on wheels for people confined to their home. Weird. Certainly doesn't apply to me!

    That's a great offer at mcD's though :)

Well, I keep seeing ads for bras (I recently searched out how to re-size) and then I started seeing ads for holstic dog foods (also searched ancestral canine diet, as we've recently started a rotation diet high in protein, mod fat low carb for all the pups)....I think the ads you see have to do with the searches you do...yes, it creeps me out....and yes, I sometimes feel nagged by them  :blushing:

I've not seen an ad on the internet for years now.

    https://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

It's completely free (although you can donate to the guy who created it)

    You're welcome.
