November 2013 Move Your @ss Challenge

Okay *kitten* movers, here's the new thread for the November 2013 Move Your *kitten* Challenge.....
The first MYAC thread was in November 2010 and has been going strong and growing more and more each month. It's hard to believe that at the end of October will have been going strong for 3 full years - 36 months of Move Your *kitten* Challenges. That's pretty freaking awesome if I do say so myself.
Welcome to the newbies and welcome back to the oldies.
"Rules of the Challenge"
1. Set your goal....distance ONLY (Miles or KMs) - NO minutes, NO # of workouts, NO # of steps - DISTANCE ONLY.
2. Make your ticker if you want to use one (see directions below) or add your goal to the thread.
3. Get moving your @ss starting Friday, November 1st.
4. Post as often as you can to the thread so we can keep the sheet (see link below) up to date. You are welcome to report what you are moving each time BUT please make sure you post the TOTAL Miles moved each time you update.
Please remember DO NOT post any October miles here...Dave will update our October spreadsheet once everyone has reported in their October miles to the other thread - Please add only November goals/miles to this thread.....
The goal is to set a distance goal KM or Miles and track your distance for the month - please only do one or the other...if you are doing KM just report in KM - we have a formula in the spreadsheet that will convert it to miles for us...you are challenging yourself, not competing against anyone else.....the distance can be on a treadmill, the stairmaster, the elliptical, the bike, roller blades, walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming (if you can measure).....Just set a distance goal and do the work...Sorry we will not be tracking number of workouts or minutes moved on this challenge - ONLY distance....
Report to the thread often to keep us updated because we track our info on a spreadsheet (see link below) so you can see how you are doing compared to the group but not to compete with them....the idea is to set your goal and reach it before the end of the month....
Once the thread hits 500 posts it will roll to a 2nd, 3rd and sometimes 4th part. Click the link on the last post that says <continue at this topic> to post your update.

Directions for making a ticker:
Go to tickerfactory.com and create a weight loss/fitness ticker (link is lower left side of page). Then copy the BB code and paste it into your posts on this thread each time you do an update.

This looks like fun! I'm an on again / off again runner, so this looks like a great way to stay accountable and increase my mileage goal for the year!
My goal for November is 50 miles of running!0 -
I'll aim for 150 (Fitbit) miles again this month even though it's getting harder to get outside in the dark.0

This sounds fun! I got over 100 miles the last time I used my pedometer for a month. I'm going to make my goal 150 - Lets see if I can push myself to walk more every single day!0

Can I join you all? I need the motivation to, well, move my @ss. I dusted off my treadmill and loaded up my ipod this weekend. I'm only going to count the miles I log exercising on the treadmill here and not all day miles and since I'm just starting back up I'm going to say 30 miles. That sounds really low but since I'm walking about an 18 minute mile right now I know I've got to start somewhere .0

First time doing this and right now I walk but not that far and normally only during the week plus depends whether I take our dog (she can only go 15-20 mins and is slow) or am by myself. Now to get my @ss moving on the weekends too plus do extra on the days I don't take the dog. Mine will be much lower than many I have just read but it is at present what I think I can do. So ..... 65 kilometres (or 40 miles) of walking.

Hi guys, I would love to participate again for November but will have a go at dropping my goal.
Time to shake up my workout routine so I will be weight training and hopefully lap swimming as well as my usual walking.
Taking this into account I will drop my November km's to 150 (down from 200) and see if this is still achievable0
