The Next Person Who Says

Yolo annoys me. Not enough to throat punch, but I will completely disregard anything else the person says after hearing it. I'm also not fond of the cutesy shortening of words like totes, adorbs, and gorge. It's more annoying when they string them all together.
Yolo. Amaze-balls. Cray-cray. Anything from the Kardashian Kollection teevee, apparently. These things annoy me, not enough to make me want to punch anyone in the throat (that's reserved for intruders and siblings), but enough to make me re-evaluate their intelligence.
I do like saying adorkable, though. *blush*
Cheers!
I had no idea where the words came from....now I hate them more. Adorkable doesn't really bother me. I like making up words which, most likely, annoys someone else. (Nerdtastic is my favorite)0 -
"Bae" or "cray cray." Seriously, enough of this tomfoolery.
What doe those even mean??0 -

"Just one won't hurt"
"What, are you on a diet?!"
Really chafes my *kitten*. The first one, I agree that one won't necessarily cause any regressions, but it NEVER stays with just one. The second one, yes, we are all on "diets". Your diet is the food you eat, my diet is just healthier.0 -
The next person who says, "OH but you always carried your weight well" gets it.
People say this to me all of the time. Like I didn't need to lose the 90 lb I have lost since '08, and don't still need to lose around 50 lb at least...UMMM no0 -
Don't think I've heard this one yet...
After asking what I do to lose weight and hearing the answer - "oh, I wish I had that kind of time! I'm too busy to lose weight!" :noway:0 -
Shenanigans is getting pistol whipped!
* hands glock* "OOOOOOooooooh"
Farva, whats that place you like to go to with all the *kitten* on the walls and the mozzerlla sticks??0 -
'Just saying'
Just groin kicking!0 -
Next person who says "oh, are you trying to lose weight?" while looking skeptically at my salad is going to get their lights punched out....
This is a 700 calorie salad that I made for the sake of nutritious deliciousness, not for diet-y weight loss. LEAF ME AND MY SPINACH ALONE.0 -
"I can be discrete."0

I hate it when people ask what I'm doing to lose weight and then don't believe me when I tell them it's just calorie counting & logging on MFP.
I also hate it when people look skeptically at my plate at a BBQ, "How are you losing so much weight eating THAT!?" staring in horror at my butterscotch brownie. I want to say "I choose this. I had grilled vegetables for lunch and eggs for breakfast and later I'll have salmon and a measured-out portion of couscous for dinner so that I can enjoy this. You will not witness this, as you'll be at Buffalo Wild Wings throwing back wings and beer."0 -
"you're not still trying to lose are you?" I am so sick of this comment when I chose a healthy option for a meal....0
-
Also- I hate when people say "totes" instead of totally. It really "grinds me gears", to quote a great philosopher of our time.
I say "totes" ALL THE TIME. Drives my boyfriend insane! :laugh:0 -
"I just seen_____" what ever...you didn't "seen" anything, you saw something, you may "have seen" something...get it the f*@k right!0
-
"It's simple, just burn more than you take in"
I call BS. It MATTERS how your body works. If I went purely by the numbers....I would weigh 130lbs.
THIS!!!!
Yep, screw that whole thermodynamics thingy.0 -
"What's your secret" as if I am hoarding some magic weight loss pill0

"you're not still trying to lose are you?" I am so sick of this comment when I chose a healthy option for a meal....
You won't believe how many times I've been asked that since I started maintaining. I don't know if it's because I wear clothes that fit me a lot better now, or what the deal is, but it seems like I get asked this at almost every family gathering or whenever someone I only see intermittently comes over to my house. Even though I haven't intentionally lost a single pound since the beginning of June.
When the question is asked to me, though, it's more like "Are you STILL losing weight?" which sort of implies that I'm doing something that I've taken it too far and am still actively losing like I have an ED or something. I swear to God, I want people to stop saying anything about my weight or the way I look, because I'm sick of it. It was sorta cute and flattering back when I was losing, but now it's just like STFU. I think next time I'll ask in response, "You're not still trying to gain, are you?"0 -
"Bae" or "cray cray." Seriously, enough of this tomfoolery.
What doe those even mean??
They are idiot slang for babe and crazy.0 -
I love this...
Mindless moron - You look fantastic, have you been losing weight?
My reply - Yes - 80 lbs now.
Oh, you should try no carbs, all carbs, drink more water, don't lift weights, you'll get bulky, no water, all water, Mio will kill you, etc.
I think I've got a handle on it, as do all my doctors, trainers and my nutritionist but thank you for your advice Doctor of Nothing. Can't we just leave things on a compliment?0 -
"What's your secret" as if I am hoarding some magic weight loss pill
My mom always always says "well whatever you are doing, it's working" in this creepy tone that sounds like she thinks I'm lying about MFP, and actually on some diet drug or street drug or something else horrible...lol...it is annoying0 -

The next person who tells me
"You're a paleontologist? So you're like Ross from 'Friends'."
or
"You have a doctorate in vertebrate paleontology? So you can fix my back problems, right? "
or god help you if
"Jurassic Park was a great movie, wasn't it? "
Gets It. I don't care if you are my dentist man, don't you compare me to that yutz who dated Rachel.0 -
"You're healthy, why are you eating [INSERT UNHEALTHY FOOD HERE]?"
Why does everyone think my diet consists of lettuce and carrots?0 -
"I know how you feel". NO YOU DON"T.0
-
Maybe you are getting sick because you workout to much.
From my 'wonderful' mum. Nope because my lovely children/hubby have given me their bug.0 -
"Itll get better" or "It'll get easier"
In ANY situation. I dont want to hear that ****.
It makes me angry. I'm a very optimistic person but sometimes hearing that when Im down just makes me cringe and want to tell them "EFF YOU. you dont know my pain!" (Maybe Im just a big baby but it's been a pet peeve for ever)0
