@Speedy Hey, take care of your foot. :flowerforyou: You will run sooner if you don't rush it. (I know, I don't like to wait for my body to heal either but ....sometimes it has to be done. :flowerforyou: )
@Kakiem OUCH! I have hip pain and stiffness too from a childhood injury. :frown: I always feel so old when I'm hobbling around waiting for it to loosen up so I can walk normally. I hope the exercises work. :flowerforyou:
@LilmisssTalyn I'm glad you're feeling better. :flowerforyou: You'll get it this month.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement again this month. :drinker: Let's keep Moving! :drinker:0 -
So....how does this work? Do we just declare our intended goal, and then keep updating our progress on this thread? If so, I am going to go waaaay out of my comfort zone and commit to 20 miles this month. Oh yeah, do these miles have to be run, or can they be walking miles? I don't think I am quite ready for any running just yet. Only been here for 56 days. =] OK, I'm in...0

@ Iciasullo If walking is what you do, then walking it is. :drinker: We have movers that run, walk, bike, stairclimb use ellipticals and probably more that I don't know about. I mainly walk because for me walking is safer. WELCOME! :flowerforyou:
Amazing total for a day I had two shifts at work and a doctors appointment. :noway: Got to work early the second time and walked a couple of laps aroung the parking lot before we opened.
4.5 miles today
November total 26.75 miles
I also wanted to say THANK YOU :flowerforyou: to Dave, Janet and Chris for keeping this challenge going and updated. :flowerforyou: We do notice all your hard work.:drinker: :drinker:
Dave, I'm sorry about the break-in. I hope you get at least some of your stuff back but more importantly, I hope you don't let it get you down. :flowerforyou: Keep on moving! :drinker:0 -

[Hey Dave! Do we get to all chip in on what you should get for your next bike? What was your last bike?   Buggers. If I could remember what you told me about posting a picture I would post mine so you could see my Kona.
Dean
Heheh, I'm pretty fussy about what I like  but would be open to suggestions. It was an 18-yr old bike, but still in fabulous condition. I took really meticulous care of it...keeping it clean and well maintained. It was a Scott Seattle hybrid bike (mountain/road cross-over). From what I saw today, it would most closely be called a "flatbar roadbike" (versus drop-handled) but the tires were not slicks, but not complete knobbies either....somewhere in the middle. The Scott Metrix 20 or 10 looks really appealing to me. Very lightweight and similar in design & features.
To post a pic, go to tinypic.com and upload your picture with whatever settings you want, then copy paste the code for "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" into your new message, being sure to change the IMG's at the beginning and end to lowercase img before you submit it.
About 90% of my miles are road miles and the remaining miles are paved or crushed limestone trails (converted railbeds). Maybe as I get more fit and lose more weight, I'll be interested more in the off-road stuff, but right now at my weight, I'm always concerned about popping spokes if I hit something. Even potholes and large cracks in the pavement....or transitioning where the pavement meets the slightly ramped concrete sidewalks at intersections.

Dave, sorry to hear about what happened to you. I've been there, and needless to say, I was not a happy camper!! I was furious! But... here's for you:
I'm not a cat person, but this is the cutest thing I've seen in a while!I would sound like Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin) from Princess Bride. "There will be blood tonight!!"
My favorite character from one of my favorite movies! I love Mandy Patinkin!

Nov 1 - 3 miles
Nov 2 - 3 miles
Nov 3 - 3 miles
Nov 4 - 3 miles
(Sad but it's a start)
@AVARINDRIA - Looks like you might need to bump your goal for the month up a little! At the rate you're going, you're going to hit it by the 8th!
We're up to 232 participants already this month! Not too far from the biggest ever.
I put in a 5K run and .9 mile walk on the gym treadmill for a nice round 4 miles.
