Whenever there is a zombie outbreak it will be like 28 Days Later or The Crazies. The military will quarantine the civillian sector and destroy it.

But...the military is big, but it is far from perfect, so there would eventually be contamination within the quarantine and that would fall apart and all Zombie Hell breaks loose.
    OR
Knowing the government, the outbreak was their fault and they would destroy everyone, the zombies and the living,. just to cover it up.

Always have been, always will be a zombie fan. They are my favorite. I have been wanting to watch this show sooo bad but haven't yet. So I'm skipping over anythig that gives it away. I'll watch any zombie movie though..

Night of the Living Dead - 1968
    28 Days
    Shaun of the Dead
    Dawn of the Dead
    I am Legend

Do the Evil Deads and Army of Darkness count??

    Resident Evil
... ugh I know there are way more.

For any of you guys that like zombie books (and yeah World war z was outstanding! Max Brooks is a zombie genius), there's an anthology out there called, Ironically, The Living Dead 2, I didn't read 1 (couldn't find it at Borders) but 2 was great, some really creative zombie writing in them. I had no idea there were so many zombie writers out there until I read this book. In fact, a few of the stories in movies come from some of these books. And FYI, World War Z I think is going to be a movie too.

Love zombie movies. Once side question, can you really consider 28 Days Later and the equally good 28 Weeks Later zombie movies? They were infected with the Rage virus, but were they dead? Just a thought.

I can sit through a terrible movie as well as a good one.

Night of the Living Dead - punk zombies with an awesome soundtrack...whats not to love?
    Planet Terror
    28 Days Later & 28 Weeks Later
    Land of the Dead
Evil Dead & Evil Dead 2
    Dawn of the Dead
Porn of the Dead - yes...that is exactly what the title says (maybe not a favorite but i HAD to include it on the list)
    Shaun of the Dead
    Resident Evil: Apocalypse

and of course the movie the solidified Jenna Jameson's career as a serious thespian...

    Zombie Strippers!

ooops. I meant 28 Days LATER not 28 Days. Good movie but it's not about zombies.. haha. I could watch any zombie movie really. But on a side note I did watch two decently good movies recently: 'American Cowslip' and 'The Road'.. good.. good movies.

    Zombie Strippers!

Good point on the 28 Days and Weeks... They weren't "dead" but were what I would consider a zombie. The official definition of a zombie includes people who are under the magical control of someone else, such as voodoo magic. But they go on to say that modern movies have expanded the definition to include the reanimated dead and people infected with a pandemic illness. that caovers 28 Days and Weeks.

So...Jenna wasn't in Porn of the Dead but held out for something respectful, like Zombie Strippers? Nice choises, Jenna! LOL!

Ahhh! I forgot one... Peter Jackson's Braindead (Dead Alive in the US). One of the flippin best, gorriest cult films I have ever seen. I love this movie. Nothing beats the line "Your mother ate my dog!"
And why shoot a zombie when you have a lawn mower and guitar strap?

    Beautiful!

    yes...i have issues.

It looks like we have many Zombie fans in the MFP community!
I very much enjoyed the premier of The Walking Dead and even entered their "stagger on" contest. As for great Zombie movies, lets not forget...

    Return of the Living Dead
    Herbert West, the Re-Animator
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things
    Fido
    Zombie Strippers

I'd say so... I know they're known as 'The Deadites' in "Army"... but these are re-animated corpses... and I reckon that's technically what a zombie is eh? So yep - if one chased me, I wouldn't quibble - I'd be scared out of my wits!!!

 ah the debate about 28 Days Later lol - a very clever movie... are they or are they not zombies?

Well, they infect by biting/transferring body fluids - same as zombies.
BUT... they're starving to death but don't crave or consume flesh - they're simply motivated by rage - not like zombies.

BUT... there's loads of 'em running around attacking the non-infected... so I say - just PRETEND their the undead and then you'll more or less have a zombie movie!!!

Weird eh? The 'Veggie Substitute' of the Zombie Genre!

Absolutely brilliant movie - and of course, you get the MADDEST scene with the zombie baby that's like something out of a Tom & Jerry cartoon!!!

There are some great 'foreign' zombie mivies out there too - "La Horde" is an action packed French movie that's also got a great "I don't give a *kitten*" 'old guy' character in there - well worth a look.

And "Rec." films - a great Spanish movie that's got a combination of zombie/possession themes - first one is pure zombie action I reckon.

Then there's the classic line "I kick *kitten* for the lord!" LOVELY!

You mean the part where he's at the park with the zombie baby in the stroller punching it and throwing it around? Hahaha Sick fun!

Rec was remade into Quatantine here in the US. I started Rec, but my DVD was messed up and didn't finish, but it was almost scene for scene like Quarantine. That one was a case of Rabies gone mad, so like Rage in the 28 movies and a smaller case of isolation, because the peeps inside the building can't get out and basically infect each other all on film documentary style. Bummer for them, eh?

I keep seeing people mention Fido. i have bnever heard of or seen this. Is it quality or campy? i'm more of a quality watcher myself, campy is alright if it's pulled off well, Like Zombieland and Shaun...But crappy camp isn't my thing. Unless I'm drinking. :drinker:

Agreed re: Rec. - "Quarantine" was pretty much a direct remake... not bad, but nothing new - they could've at least revised it, like in the U.S. revisions of 'The Ring' and its sequel.

Fido... hmm... it's kind of '50s 'Mom & Pop' style... as a U.K. chap, it's prob. difficult for me to get 'my idea' of what that is... but to me it's where Pop comes home with pipe clenched in teeth, hat and briefcase in tow - Mom there making cherry pie and wearing her apron - not a hair out of place (on her head that is - I'm not saying she's got a well groomed hairy apron lol)... the kind of image that was done in movies like "Edward Scissorhands" and "The Cat In The Hat".

I think that once you get into that groove, it works fine - and it's just accepted that Zombies are just a part of everyday stuff... so to me, I don't think it's camp really - although camp DOES work for me lol (come on... we Brits invented it lol, look at the 'Carry On' series!)

As to my previous Lassie reference... this to me is a tale of a Boy and his pet Zombie... and it's got touches of "Go get help, Boy" but with the occasional consuming of human flesh.

Now I'm not a big fan of Mr. Connolly, but this is a very good movie... I just chanced upon it, but very glad I did... I reckon that it's a definite "make your own mind up" movie though as to whether or not you like.

I always loved Dawn of the Dead (the original AND the remake!). Of course, Planet Terror. And, it was a terrible movie, but Chopper Chicks In Zombie Town was mildly entertaining...
