    About 6 years ago when some of our investments were doing really well I splurged on this. Probably the last watch I will ever buy.

    I'm a crafter... I love Scrapbooking, card-making, altering things and painting.... I was tired of having to put everything away and take it out all the time when we had a nice big unfinished basement. So I spent our tax return 1 year partially finishing a section of the basement and created a nice big 16x16 craft room for myself, ok so the ex-hub helped :wink:

    Once my area was completed of course I had to have cabinets and counter tops to store stuff and work on, that was another $500.... I think in total it was around $5k.

    Like you, I hardly ever buy really expensive things for myself--I prefer and tend to shop for others, that brings me more joy than buying expensive stuff for myself. The exception of when I'm angry:devil: --then I do buy super expensive stuff I normally wouldn't EVER buy for myself. The expensive things I buy for myself when I'm angry (which isn't too often...Thank God) is...

    Shoes
    clothes
    earrings

    The expensive things I do enjoy buying for myself, just for pleasure, joy and delight is...

    My $300 wedding gown/veil 28 years ago.

    Other than that, probably the hundreds of novels I've bought over the years. I love to read. :)
