I'm a crafter... I love Scrapbooking, card-making, altering things and painting.... I was tired of having to put everything away and take it out all the time when we had a nice big unfinished basement. So I spent our tax return 1 year partially finishing a section of the basement and created a nice big 16x16 craft room for myself, ok so the ex-hub helped
Once my area was completed of course I had to have cabinets and counter tops to store stuff and work on, that was another $500.... I think in total it was around $5k.0 -
Like you, I hardly ever buy really expensive things for myself--I prefer and tend to shop for others, that brings me more joy than buying expensive stuff for myself. The exception of when I'm angry:devil: --then I do buy super expensive stuff I normally wouldn't EVER buy for myself. The expensive things I buy for myself when I'm angry (which isn't too often...Thank God) is...
Handbags
Shoes
clothes
earrings
The expensive things I do enjoy buying for myself, just for pleasure, joy and delight is...
Perfume
Scented candles & Reed Diffusers
Books
Organic foods & supplements from health food/specialty stores0 -
I got myself a wife. Can't begin to guess the price, but I have been paying on the installment plan for 25 years.0

Watches. I have a watch collection that's worth more than my car.
You have my attention. What's your favorite one?
Currently, the one I wear most is a Movado SE.
Looks like this:
Next one up will be either a breitling or a Tag. Depending on when I can convince myself it's not stupid to buy another watch.0 -
If I don't count our house, boat, cars/trucks, computers, vacations, TVs, etc we've bought and paid for to enjoy together as a couple/family...
Just for me? Hmm...
My $300 wedding gown/veil 28 years ago.
Other than that, probably the hundreds of novels I've bought over the years. I love to read.0 -
