Studies have shown that 100% of people who consume dihydrogen monoxide die.
Studies have shown that 100% of people who do yoga die. What is the point of this statement? WE ALL DIE!
I'm pretty sure that was the point0 -
Don't be fooled.
This is an excellent marketing opportunity.
They can have this big to-do over this chemical, then remove it from their bread and re-introduce their brand again
Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. Genius.
Subway just announced they are removing the chemical....0 -
all prepared food is full of toxins and poisons...they want us sick...can't make money if you are healthy
Who want you sick?
Last I was aware, Subway wasn't owned by any hospitals, despite the parent company's name (Doctor's Associates, Inc.)
Or are you implying that big pharm and big sandwich are in bed?
/sarcasm
I knew it!
THANKS OBAMA.0 -
Personally, I would rather get a sandwich from my local Italian deli anyway, it may have more calories but at least I know what's in it...
Assuming they use bleached flour, and I'd put money on the fact that they do, then you'll be getting azodicarbonamide.
They probably also use some of the same deli meat and produce suppliers as Subway.
But if them being a local deli makes you feel better, have at it. Just remember that you only hear about the stuff in big chains because they are big chains. Little local delis don't make the news for their additives.0 -

I'd be mostly concerned with the usually high levels of sodium in anything from subway.0
-
I would also say that the very fact that there is a high sodium content in many of their menu items is another logical reason why Subway should be avoided.
Sorry if I repeated the person above me thoughts on this subject.
However, the fact that there is way too much sodium in the American food supply can never be said enough...0 -

Err - what about Maccy D's?!! :bigsmile:0 -
I was saddened and sickened to hear this. Although they have now said they will remove the chemical I still think it is a good idea for us in North America to sign this petition and write Subway. I just did.

ETA: I should ad that this chemical is USDA approved and a lot of food companies use this and other "approved" chemicals. But that does not mean they should use it! The good news is that Subway has agreed to stop using it but it cannot be fast enough if you ask me so I still signed the petition but really we should all be going after the FDA!!0 -

As long as you're taking in normal amounts. Processed food is usually LOADED with sodium, often at levels 2-3 times what the body requires in a day.0 -

Hmmmmmmmmmm..........................I love the smell of baking bread, always have.
Sodium is not bad if you eat get a veggie with no cheese and red wine vinegar.
I like subway, and will continue to eat there in spite of this hype.
Are you 100% sure of everything that you are ingesting? Good for you if you really are!0
