Jbug: just keep track and when the month ends we'll post our totals. 50 miles in December = 1.6 miles per day minimum. See previous posts re: pace and time if your machine doesn't give you miles.

Can I still join in this challenge? The elliptical is my favorite exercise machine and I usually get in at least 45 mins every day along with every other day strength training. Also; my computer had a virus and I only got back online yesterday after almost a week and saw this post......:happy: .Thanks All0

I am in! I would like to do 100 minutes every other day, but I will try to get to it everyday. That would help me. I love the elliptical. It is easy on joints and I can study while I burn!0

Did NOT elliptical yesterday or today but I trudged through 2 miles of snow yesterday and shovellled the walks. Today I ran 4.5 miles on our snowy country roads. I will elliptical when the wind will not allow me outside to run!!!0

Remember to NOT beleive the calorie burn from the machine, get a heart rate monitor!! I own a Precor commercial grade elliptical and I also own a ProForm treadmill and both are higher than what my Polar F11 hrm calculates! Sad but true!!
Interesting you say this. Just last night I decided to try my new Polar FT7 HRM against my Schwinn Elliptical. I set the program on the elliptical for 100 calorie burn. The HRM said 113 calories. Pretty damn close, I think.0 -

Amazing! That is the FIRSt time I have heard this!!! My polar F11 reads 120 plus LESS than what the machine says and my elliptical is a commercial grade PreCor!!! happy cruisin & burnin!!!
Yeah, I was kind of surprised. I plan to check it out against some of the other programs that my elliptical offers and see if it still comes out that close.0 -

Didn't get to the gym yesterday (but spent three hours up and down the ladder, hanging lights and raking leaves) and won't get there today (but will spend hours walking around a mall buying new clothes for my 13-yr old son). Monday I'll be back in the gym, on the elliptical and heading for 100 minutes.
The challenge is for 50 miles in December which is an average of 1.6 per day. Anyone is welcome to join anywhere along the way.

Got carried away today on the elliptical, did 4 miles in 60 mins, yes making up for the first two days I missed. This is awsome keeps me focused on doing my cardio...yay!!!0

I have not been on my elliptical since Thursday because even though we have snow and it is only 18 to 20 degrees I have been out walking or running! My furry kids love it when I take em! Monday while Oprah is on I will hop back on. I have 38 miles to go!!

I have 27.75 miles to go and i meet the challenge. I usually do like 3-4 miles a day one the ellipitical. Good luck everyone!!!0

Holey-schlamoley!! Almost half way to the goal and only six days into the month? THAT ROCKS!!! I guess I got some catching up to do... I'm aiming for six miles today when I get to the gym!0

6.3 miles today... argh... my legs feel like noodles... LOL
But my total's over 17 miles for the month so far - so 1/3 there in 1/5 of the month. If I can do this, YOU can do this!

Count me in. I had already set a personal goal of an hour a day for 30 days in December. Giving myself a break for Christmas. Been there everyday so far......0

I didn't get there today but will tomorrow - late morning gym time scheduled. 66 minutes minimum (4.6 miles) but might go for 99 and 6.9 miles. I guess I should eat an extra few carbs for breakfast in the morning?

Wow where is everybody?? Hope your cruisin on the elliptical!
I pulled my 4yr old again on the sled for 1.5 miles and then while he played legos I cruised for 3.25 miles!

Ah, this is a great challenge for me! I have bad knees so the elliptical is my machine for cardio.

VHuber is going to kick ALL our butts!!! I didn't get to the gym today; worked out at home and no elliptical here :-(
Still... I'm at 22 so far this month so I'm almost half way to the minimum challenge amount less than 1/3 of the way through the month.

Frank, I live almost 30 miles from our local Wellness Center so I have made my basement a gym. I have a PreCor commercial grade elliptical (that I bought from a fitness center going out of business off Ebay, also my son bought one too for his place), a Proform treadmill , a FULL size set of weights with bench's, steps and NUMEROUS fitness dvd's! My favorite though is running OUTSIDE, I love the fresh air! I am lone ranger and do not need someone to get me to workout, I love it- love it- love it!!! My husband never talks me out of my fitness "stuff" cuz he knows I will put it to good use!0 -

I like that "100 mile move your @$$ challenge" idea though. I think I'll have to do that in January. Going to SHOT Show in Vegas and I'll walk (on average) about ten miles per day for five days... I OUGHT to lose a few pounds there.0

another 4.6 miles down... total of 26.7 for the month so far!! Past the half way point and just have to insure time put in as we get closer to Christmas.
