Recently got some work done and was just wondering how much gratuity is normal for dentists?

is 20% standard?

    I don't tip my Dentist at all. I have never heard of tipping your Dentist.

    Tip a dentist? No. I don't tip my primary care doctor, my dentist, my ophthalmologist, my gallbladder surgeon, or my podiatrist. I don't think they expect to be tipped.


    Do you also tip your children's teacher(s) and administrative staff?

    What? Tip the Dentist??? Are you serious?

    My answer is NONE. They get paid either from me or the insurance company and there is no tipping.

    Do you tip your medical doctors?

    My tip for my dentist is to quit torturing me with the pointy objects in my mouth after his tech has scraped my teeth with pointy objects. By that time I just want to leave. I pay them enough since I have crappy insurance and crappy teeth thanks to genetics anyway.

    I thought that Romania has a similar system to the UK NHS with healthcare provision?

    In which case if you aren't a private patient there will be a set charge for treatments if you are over 18 & employed. I know that Romania does still have an "under the table" payment system for services which are in fact free. I can only assume that is to get quicker or preferential treatments?

    dentists make a KILLING. i have never tipped mine, and never heard about anybody else tipping their dentist before today. im intrigued.

    if its necessary where you are [it shouldn't be, but whatever] then tip them whatever it costs to get the best teeth :P
