What are some popular healthy foods that you hate?

Gosh guys - it must be something very different in USA. I love all the foods mentioned in this thread, especially beets, celery, mushrooms, olives, cottage cheese, hummus.
Maybe you didn't try a proper ones or I don't know. I am buying cottage cheese in Eastern European shops, it is not savoury but neutral taste, add some Greek yogurt, some fresh berries and its divine. Mushrooms - did you ever try wild mushrooms like boletus or chanterelle? Its sooo nice in risotto.0 -
Kale
Celery
Fish except for tuna in the pouch
Cilantro
Lettuces except for iceberg and romaine0 -
Yogurt. Any yogurt. Greek or otherwise. I just can't get past the "tang" of it...just doesn't work for me. Yet, oddly enough, I like sour cream. I think I might be weird.
Mushrooms and olives are a no-go; same with cauliflower. Other than that I'm pretty okay with most vegetables.0 -
Grapefruit.
It reminds me too much of the taste in my mouth right before I puke.0 -
Chick peas and mushrooms I just can't quite handle. Also, coconut water is absolutely disgusting (not a food though).0
-
Mine are celery and mushrooms, hate them both with a passion!!!
SOUL SISTER!!!0 -
I love hummus!
Hate kale and cauliflower.
I agree on all points. I'd need to add that I despise mushrooms and cooked fish.
But gimme some sushi and I'll rip right through it!0 -
DO NOT LIKE (still as strong as hate? lol)
Cottage Cheese
Mushrooms
Beets
I used to not like brussell sprouts, but I found a recipe/cooking method in which I can tolerate them
I have never tried kale or quinoa, but neither interests me.
I love celery, but I love adding it as a crunch factor to tuna salad and in stir fry or some chinese foods. Not a fan of it as a vessel for ranch or peanut butter LOL0 -
Chick peas and mushrooms I just can't quite handle. Also, coconut water is absolutely disgusting (not a food though).
I heard all this raving on coconut water, bought a container to try and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever had to drink! I think I barely got a sip out of it.0 -
Sweet potatoes and yams. They're considered a super food by many, but I just don't care for them at all.0
-
I guess Celery0
-
I hate light dressings, especially ranch. I'd actually rather eat the salad plain if the only option is light ranch.
this
this except for raspberry vinagarette...my husband bought me a sugar free one the other day...5 cals for 2 tbs...and it is delicious! Any other dressing has to be full flavor!0 -
So ... my special Mushroom, Celery, and Kale Smoothie wouldn't be welcome here, then?
*sniffle*0 -
Tofu :grumble: gross0
-
-cottage cheese (can't get past the texture and look)
-celery
-rice crackers (like eating cardboard)0 -
Brussel Sprouts, sweet potatoes, oatmeal (every kind), yogurt especially Greek0
-
Quinoa. I tasted a yummy tabouleh style salad at a store once but that was it. I've cooked it a couple of ways with various flavors, rinsed/not rinsed, etc. The taste is OK, but it's the texture and the way it curls into little worms, LOL. I love beans and other whole grains, so I'll stick with those and try it again another time.
PS I actually love pretty much all the other stuff: hummus, kale, etc.0 -
hummas, tried to like it but I don't think I ever will
sweet potatoes, never liked them0 -
I pretty much like everything, but tofu.0
-
I like just about all the foods, so I like most of the healthy foods.
Amaranth - it's not much different than quinoa (which I like) but I've tried eating a few times and just don't like it, works fine in breads.
Coconut water - so gross that I've only tried it once, perhaps other brands are better.
Soy Joy bars - it's been a couple years since I had one, I hope they've improved the recipe because they were just terrible.0 -
Fish, except shellfish, crustaceans, or salmon, those three are wonderful. Celery, which is nothing. Rice cakes, which are not even food, they are the *kitten* child of styrofoam and plastic. But the one thing the very idea of which is vile beyond belief is protein powder. Jesus... if I want protein I'll eat a steak. With sauteed mushrooms.0
-
Fresh tomatoes, I can eat them cooked in to a sauce but not whole slices or whatever raw or cooked. I can even taste where they have been on a sandwich even if they were picked off. Makes me laugh so much when people say, oh but they are so good for your skin... Because that would be a reason to attempt to choke one down! Horrid things.0
-
Peas - just smelling them makes me gag
Green peppers - ewww!
Don't like most cooked veggies except carrots. Raw veggies are better (broc, cauliflower, etc) but not my favorites. I do like spinach, cucumbers, mushrooms, and tomatoes (but must be cut up small!). Thank goodness I love fruit!0 -
I'm the opposite. I like fresh, homegrown, heirloom raw tomatoes but I don't like tomato sauce or cooked tomatoes, at all. That's one main reason I don't like Italian food.0
-
Hummus
Mushrooms
Fish
Avocado0 -
Salmon. I will would rather fight a walrus to the death rather than eat salmon. (Or I'd just give the salmon to the walrus.)0
-
Brown rice. I can eat certain types of white rice plain, but brown rice sucks all around! Also anything with flax seed/flavor/whatever. Yuck!0
-
And all y'all hating on celery -- I have to believe that there is something off with you (dare I speculate homicidal sociopathic personality disorder?) -- the taste and the texture is awesomesauce. Add some almond butter or peanut butter to raw celery Get that celery crunch and flavor in a nice stir fry And celery is not all braggadocio about its vitamins or protein or other nutrients -- it just is and brings its inherent loveliness.
I agree! I don't LOVE celery and hardly ever think to buy it unless a recipe calls for it...but I find it very tasty and not unpleasant in any way.
This thread has really made me wonder if maybe celery could be one of those foods that some people taste very differently for some reason...I have heard that about Brussels sprouts and cilantro. Perhaps?0 -
Chick peas and mushrooms I just can't quite handle. Also, coconut water is absolutely disgusting (not a food though).
I heard all this raving on coconut water, bought a container to try and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever had to drink! I think I barely got a sip out of it.0 -
l love most of the foods mentioned, ESPECIALLY KALE! MMM!!
The ones I can't get with are possibly beets, and I don't think I would like quinoa but i've never tried it.
PEAS ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE. I pick them out of everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
