Hi, I tried and couldn't make it larger! But did get it to post!! :flowerforyou:
Thank you very much....That was the nicest thing anyone on this site has ever done for me Arewetheyet :flowerforyou:
What does it say? I cant read it :flowerforyou:0 -
It's my first time posting in the Fitspiration board, but I've just read through all of the past threads and got inspired to share my own.
Here's my story-
When I started running a few years ago, I was so out of shape I couldn't even make it a mile on the treadmill. I made myself get on that treadmill every day and run for 1 minute more than I thought I could. I did this day after day, month after month, minute by minute. I still remember how proud of myself I was when I ran a whole 5 miles without stopping. It took me months to get to that point. Even when I played soccer in high school I couldn't do that. After a while I started running outside on the trails, and eventually even joined a running group to train with other people.
I never in my whole life thought I would be capable of running a marathon. It wasn't even within my realm of possibility. And yet, last October, I completed a full 26.2 miles in Chicago. My first marathon. I have never been more proud of myself then I was when I crossed that finish line. When I started running I didn't think I could run a marathon, but I made the decision to really try. And try. And then keep trying until I succeeded.

These are all really inspiring! I read through them all and decided to make my own, even though I'm just starting out on my journey. Maybe in a few months I'll be able to share my own accomplishments.
Here's my story behind this picture-
This picture is a few years old so you might notice how small my arms/legs are compared to the shirt. I wore oversized shirts for the longest time growing up since I didn't want to outgrow them during adolescence. I was a skinny girl when I was younger, but eventually I started to eat more unhealthily and my oversized shirts actually got tight at one point. If that picture were taken of me in that shirt today, I'd fill it out pretty closely.
This is part of my motivation because back when I was much smaller, I kept myself covered in those oversized shirts and felt so much larger than I actually was. This time when I get back to a healthier me, I'm going to finally trash all those shirts I've clung to for the past decade and find ones that actually fit me.
Also this picture seemed fitting since walking on my beach is my absolute favorite thing to do. I always joke that if I lived closer to the beach, I'd have no issue staying in shape since I could walk along the beach forever.

I needed this thread tonight.
Thank you ladies! You helped heal my heart some tonight.0 -
Not quite fitspo, more "don't get discouraged"...spo. Photo is from Howard Schatz' 2002 book Athlete. I've always found the book to be such an inspiring reminder that a healthy body can take a lot of different forms and that your bulky thighs, loose skin, or narrow shoulders don't mean there's something wrong with you--none of the people he photographed looked perfectly proportioned, but (at the time they were photographed) they were all some of the greatest, strongest athletes in the world. There are TONS more photos like this with men and women of all races, body types, and appearances too, but I thought these five women were the most interesting.
This is rambly, but basically I'm trying to say that being healthy should be your number one goal and the changes that brings to your body should just be a happy side effect.0 -

So inspirational!!!
I'm just getting back into MFP and my fitbit... Trying to lose the baby weight and then some. You all are so amazing, only hoping I will be able to post pics soon too0 -
Live each day to the fullest!
Enjoying the pics on this post!! MFP-on!!0 -
I used to look in the mirror and hate who I saw. And really, I wasn't being fair to myself.
I may have only lost 20 pounds (give or take), and 6 dress sizes...
BUT...
Along my way to the body I have now, I found:
- amazing new friends
- my dearest beast
- an understanding of what calories are and how my body uses them
- an understanding of nutrition at a much better level
- an inner strength
- an outer strength
- the inner badass beast
I look in the mirror now, and I am not filled with self hatred. Not because of the changes in my body, but rather, because of the changes in my heart.
Love this, especially the bold part. That is the important thing - to love ourselves as we are (and strive to become the best we can)1 -
Love this one, too!1 -
Changed from this ........

I find this tremendously inspiring. It helps me remember why I need to find my discipline today to become the person I know I can be.0 -
Absolutely beautiful and inspiring!!
I too was someone who always used to wear shirts that were too big (usually my older brothers).0 -
First fitspiration... an ode to my walking boots. (Hope this works...)

@docfmb
Don't wait for before and after pics. Take some time now to create something meaningful to you - it could be why you started, a goal you want to achieve, or a mantra that keeps you going when you're looking for an excuse to give up. Once you're done, post it somewhere where you can see it often like your phone/computer/mirror and then share it here to inspire someone else.
In truth, most of the people who have inspired me on this site are still working towards their own personal success stories. Their enthusiasm & dedication help to motivate me and keep me working toward mine through the ups and downs.
(PS - What kind of fitbit do you have? Mine is the flex - love it!)0 -
