I am 5'6, and starting weight on this site was 204 lbs.I started this journey in May 2010, after seeing a picture of me 6 weeks after giving birth to my youngest son. I was disgusted, I hated feeling that way. I found MFP from a friend, and slowly started tracking my food, and started becoming more and more active. I joined a gym, and in the beginning, I would only go for15 minutes, be too tired and leave. (Sorry the pictures are so big!!!!)
seeing this picture it is like looking at myself! My goal is also 150 I cannot wait to reach it! I want to meet my goal in the same span that you met yours! Seeing you be so successful gives me hope that I can also accomplish that.
I have been watching what I eat and trying to go to the gym or work out everyday for at least a half hour, any advice?0 -
Bump for future reference!0

WOW i was still in 18 at 210 lol
Me too!! I think it all depends on the brands of jeans too. I can buy two of the same size in different brands, & they fit so differently. I also think it depends on height, build, e.t.c. - - I have a big booty, so until that thing shrinks, it's be awhile for me, lol. However I am down 15 lbs from my highest weight, & 18's are falling off from me. I am now 200 lbs, I was 215.0 -
I just posted my results here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1072557-august-12-2012
I'm 5`7 started at 210 and almost 160 now. I hope to get to 150.
Awesome!!0 -
I am 5'7" and 25 years young. I started at 310 lbs and I weigh 255 now. I still have a long way to go, just sharing my success this far.
Way to go! You are looking great!0 -
At the risk of being thought of weirdly, I want to post my success story in the opposite direction...
I am recovered from anorexia. It's been a long, hard road, and I still have really tough mental days, but I'm proud of how much I've overcome and the health I have restored. MFP has been so helpful for me so I can keep myself in check to make sure that I'm getting enough nutrition, and the accountability of my open diary helps. In the first two pictures, I was 79lbs and 94lbs... those were taken 5-6 years ago. The last two I am between 120-125. Now that I'm maintaining, I rarely weigh myself - I gauge it by how my clothes fit. I haven't looked at these pictures side by side until now... it really makes me see how good health looks on me!
Wow, you have done a fantastic job! Way to go beautiful! :flowerforyou:0 -

for me it was the pursuit to be a professional wrestler that led me to decide to lose weight. i'm nowhere near my goal and would still be classified as being in abysmal shape for a pro wrestler but i'm 2st 5lbs down right now (i'm currently 213 LBS) but this is my journey so far and this is the first time i've shown anyone. first one was taken in oct 2012 before I made the decision to change, the other is in August 2013, 2 months after committing to change and losing about a stone and the last one is from February this year.

I am really self conscious of my stomach. I've had 5 children so the evidence is all there stretch marks and all, but im working on toning up and losing weight. I know I have a long ways to go. and my stomach seems to be my enemy.

I am 5'7" and have a short waist/long legs, so I carry my weight fairly well. I started in August at my top weight EVER of 202. Cut back on eating out as often (at night) and having cocktails...from 6-7x week to 3-4x week....but still ate what I wanted and did no food tracking or exercise. Lost 6 lbs in about 6 weeks. Started tracking on Sept 29, 2013 at 196 lbs. Am now at 177 lbs (April 4, 2014) and have been at this weight for about 2 weeks. I don't pay attention to the nutritional balances on my daily allowances, only the calories. I've only exercised twice since October (which was only riding my bicycle a couple of times a week anyway). I know I should have lost more by now, but the only effort I've put forth is counting calories and I always go over on the weekends (by several hundred) and sometimes, during the week as well (usually within 30-200 over).... and I still don't exercise, so who am I to complain?
I wear a size 12-14 in Ann Taylor and now some of the 14s that are fitted and not a-line, are too big. The 12 a-lines are getting loose. My twelve curvy fit stretch jeans, which sit on my hips, get baggy by the end of the day and I feel sloppy. People started noticing at around 12 lbs MFP, or a total of 18lbs since I started cutting back on eating out. I don't think I will ever drop below a size 10, no matter how much weight I lose within reason; in high school (25 years ago), even at 130 lbs, I wore a size 10. I am pear shaped with wide hips, thick thighs, and a bubble butt, which calls for a more generous fit, even when I am at the low end of my healthy weight range for 5'7".
I know that to REALLY lose weight, I need to exercise and watch the nutritional balance of my daily allowances on MFP, but the success I've had by just holding myself accountable for calories each day, and knowing that I need to drink an Amstel Light at 96 calories, instead of a craft beer at 150 calories, or eat an 8pc nugget at chick-fil-a for 270 calories, vs. a chicken sandwich for like 470 calories, has paid off with the most minimal effort. I still eat all of the foods I enjoy, still enjoy wine tastings and nights out at the bar,and have lost 25 lbs in the past 6 months or so. I am still 18 lbs over my top weight of "normal weight range" for a healthy BMI and I know it is attainable; if I have lost what I have by eating what I want with no exercise, then adding a little exercise into my lifestyle and making SOME better food choices, will make it easily attainable. The best thing that MFP has done for me is to hold me accountable daily and to make me aware of choosing a better selection calorie-wise...even amongst my favorite, not so healthy foods! It goes to show that if you are honest about what you put in your mouth and stay reasonably within your calorie allowance, you WILL lose weight without exercise, just a little more slowly.
Now that the weather is nice, I plan on getting back on my bicycle and spending some time on the beach; I am curious to see if I can jumpstart some weight loss with a few slight and simple changes.
