Valentines Challenge! Starts 1/1/2011!

Hi all,

After several successful XMAS challenges, I have taken it upon myself to create a Valentines day challenge! I intend to begin on the 1st January 2011. I am one of those people who prefers to work towards short term goals and this challenge would give an intensive period of 6 weeks. I aim to lose around 14 lbs in this time (So a little over 2lbs a week).

Half of my success during previous challenges has been because of the support I have recieved from other members. I hope this thread can provide support and motivation to all who take part.

What a better way to celebrate this holiday by beginning to love yourself! :)

Weigh-ins will be Friday. Post your weight and your goal to start, and then your weight lost for each following week!

    This would be great. I gained back 10lbs but have since lost 3 of that. I has been a battle over the last 4 months to get back into the frame of mind I need to do this. It's easy to slide back into the old habbits. Fast food is quick and easy. My son is getting married in May so 15lbs would be a great start.

    I'm in! I'm doing the 10lb by V-Day, however my goal is about 12lbs (from the 142 I'm at now to 130)

    I will join this challenge and lose 18 pounds by Valentine's Day. That will be 3 pounds a week if I stick to eating 1300 to 1400 calories a day, exercising at least twice a day, and not eating past 7:30 pm (which I have found works the best for me). If I eat from 1200 to 1300 calories, I will experience faster weight loss. Can't wait to get started!

    I'm in more of this type of challenge too, but I enjoy trying to complete all of them. Constant participation in this website helps to keep me focused on my goal.

    Count me in! I will weigh in on Friday the 31st and put my exact goal after that but 14 lbs sounds good to me.

    I am so in. Let me check... Right now I am at 65-65,5kg and normally I can loose 0,5kg a week, so I hope to get to -3kg till 14th Feb and that would be... 62,5 or even 62kg!
    Oh that would be lovely...

    I'm also in several challenges, but the more the merrier! I AM going to lose 10 lbs by VDay! I weigh in on Mondays, so I will check in next week. Today I was 155.8. GW by VDay is 145.0.

    I like the shred as a morning workout because it's quick and the circuits of cardio, strength and abs keeps it mildly interesting for me. They can be as much of a challenge as you want them to be as well, i.e. using heavier weights for the strength, maxing yourself out on the cardio.

    I'm in! I'm kinda new to MFP (have been browsing the forums for a while, I must admit), and I'd love a challenge like this to get the new year started. And mid-February is a great goal; I'll have worked with my personal trainer for a year then. Getting the final shaping up done for that little anniversary will please both her and me.

    I haven't weighed myself in a few months now - but I've been working out really well. I'm guessing I'm at 75 kg now, and my goal weight is somewhere around 70 kg. I'm building a lot of muscle, though, so I'm not really sure if weight is the right parameter to measure my progress by.

    I'll have my trainer put me on the scales ASAP (hopefully this week, though I hate, hate, HATE it) and post my goal weight, body fat percentage and measurements then. But some tentative goals for the challenge:

    * Eat btw 1300 and 1500 kcals a dau
    * 5 workouts a week - three cardio, one weights session and one session with my trainer
    * NO alcohol what so ever
    * Some kind of physical activity on my non-workout days
