In season veggies (garlic, potatoes, carrots parsnips, winter greens- whatever the farmers market or CSA has)
    Homemade whole wheat bread
    Whole wheat pastas
    Local cheeses
    Frozen wild blueberries

i have to have quick foods in the house, because I have to cook two meals all the time. (children)

Easy micrwave veggies (sadly, high in sodium, but I rinse the sauce off so that prob cuts it in half)
gold seal Tuna snacks (I like the chili flavour)
    splenda (my new love)
    diet coke
minute rice. higher in carbs and calories, but quick and easy!
pc thins bagels (super good and not as many carbs!!)
    low sodium soup
    sugar free pudding
veggie burgers (I just eat the patty, or with a piece of 12 grain bread)
    yogurt
  • ryvita crackerbreads
    red onion
    garlic
    tinned chopped tomatoes
    tomatoe puree
    spices
    flour
    apples
    low fat yoghurt
nutella chocolate spread ( for a cheeky choocy fix with half the calslol )

OMG Nutella, that stuff is the BOMB.. it helped me quit smoking (dipped celery in it when i had cravings) and now with dieting it is still around for that part too.. i highly recommend it.. For those of you who don't know cigs. have caffeine in them and the nutella gave just enough caffeine to curve that fix.. Don't believe me? ask you doc.. I was surprised to find that out too.

BTW I keep all sweet n low in the house to sub for sugar.. always have but seems to be catching on now.. I still use sugar some but in moderation.
  • So after that excitement I'll tell you mine:

caffeine free diet mountain dew (only 50g on sodium but nothing else in it)
    ham
    yogurt
    cheese
    celery
    apples
    oranges
    banana's
    instant oatmeal
    nutella

Kids like to snack alot and this avoids the age old "grab a bag of chips" for me and the kids :)
