Mark Simpson came up with Spornosexual and unless you willfully live under a rock you'd know he came up with Metrosexual.. basically a wetdream for people who work in marketing.

No one gives a *kitten* unless they're a character in a Easton Ellis novel. I like my men without ridiculous labels, including the ones on their clothing.

So... only men can be stereotyped? I'm confused by this use of "bro" because I call my lady friends "bro" all the time because it sounds stupid and hilarious.

^da faq? The title says "HEY BRO! YOU A METROSEXUAL OR A SPORNOSEXUAL?" This thread is regarding 3 sterotypes of men, the average guy, the guy that cares about his wardrobe and personal appearance, and the guy that cares more about his body and personal appearance. There is now simply an observation that the spornosexual is different from a metrosexual, and there is a significant difference.

Not belittling - but if this is seriously news to people then there is seriously a huge age gap in understanding, a lack of a college education, or you live in a very rural area - not saying any of that is wrong but I'd venture to say that is accurate.

LOL you think that this purile set of stereotypes sums up all men

Go travel to another country and see some other cultures. Increase your life experience. Widen your social circle a bit. Maybe study some anthropology. Seriously, if you really believe what you're saying and you're not just trolling for kicks then you must be extremely naive and lacking in life experience.

DA FAQ?! No I do not think this sums up all MEN?! It concerns only metrosexuals and men who may have thought they were metrosexual but are actually spornosexual.

READ THE TITLE OF THE TREAD BEFORE POSTING PLZZ

DA faq?! What are you not getting here?

If you are to represent sophistication and higher education...

*looks down at omega watch, and recent contracted painting hanging on wall* ... umm...yeahhh?

That you think a watch or painting lend credence to the idea that you are anything more than a man who owns a watch and painting is pretty telling.

^i'm just really proud of both - took months of saving and pinching pennies. :)

Yes, which makes you proud, not educated or sophisticated.

Yeah, I'm an uneducated bumble for thinking posting a topic all about stereotyping men (which is done enough without crap like this) is not only asking for it, but just ridiculous.

Why does it matter what we call a guy that cares about what he eats, looks like, or shares on social media?

ETA: I'm for real abandoning this thread now, disengaging.

Status symbols aren't proof of higher education.

Boy, your ignorance is really showing... you might want to quit while you are behind.

I couldn't have gotten the status I have now without the multiple degrees I got. I'd venture to say in these times, unless you are an extreme outlier or blessed even more than me you need a degree to be rocking an omega watch and to be dropping a few G's to have a painting contracted out.

    Or a lottery winner...

    Or born to money...

Or intelligent enough to start your own business without an education...

Or have a rich relative gave those things to you...

Any number of scenarios could be possibility in the acquirement and attainment of those things. I don't have those things. But I have two degrees with a third on the way.

    Your logics... they fail you!

The use of the term "extreme outlier" in the context you're using it in is.... odd. Someone who's inherited money from their rich family or won the lottery is an outlier in what statistic? They're not an outlier in terms of the amount of money they have. They're not an outlier in terms of the amount of intelligence they have. So in what way are they an extreme outlier?

    WTF is Spornosexual

Metrosexual is one of the stupidest words I've ever heard in my life

How about.... we just all be humans? And individuals? Why this need to constantly put people in boxes with a label on?

Now, to be fair. As scientists we have a long and proud history of liking to stick things in boxes and put labels on them too.... just saying.

I find it hard to believe you have any form of reputable college education, the way you talk(type) is full on ridiculous and uneducated.

Anyone can say they have fancy stuff on the interwebs.
You have no way to prove to me you have the things you say you do, but i have no way to prove otherwise, except your douchecanoe spelling, and sentence formation.

As far as needing a degree to afford a watch and a painting, that's utter BS, i have no degree but i make ample enough money to afford trivial things like that.
