^see that pic of me? that silk twill Hermes tie was $190 .. smh
$190 on a tie? - yeah...
What kind of jagoff spend a hundred and ninety bucks on a tie? A TIE!! You could have used that to buy meals for a homeless shelter, or given that to a single mom struggling to feed her kids. But instead you spend it on a tie. One that's not even that attractive and then you BRAG about it. Which is why you're a jagoff. And a *kitten*.
yeah I bought 3 of 'em that day.
but I put in my time at the homeless shelter as well - I used to have substance abuse issues and obessing over obtaining wealth, getting the degreeez, and looking fit is what helped a great deal to get out of the substance abuse. - I will admit I have a great deal more to mature on - but I do put my time in at the homeless shelter as well.
and for my job you have to look sharp.. I'm 24, and without having the coach messenger bag, and the versace gym bag - clients and leads would just not take you seriously.
-sad story I guess but its just the way it is..?
Because your clients see your gym bag??? That's your justification?? Look, I don't give a flying hump in a rolling donut what you do with your stacks and stacks of money, and good job getting over whatever it is that you got over, but don't expect people to respect you because you spend stupid amounts of money on clothes. Don't tout your clothing choices and purchases as reflections of your education and class. Because real class can't be bought. And it can't be faked. All you're doing is making yourself look like a narcissistic, self absorbed, arrogant jagoff.
Business lesson No. 1: Your clients spend the money. If they see you spending too much money, they'll think they pay you too much.
Do you even Warren Buffett, OP?
that's true chameleon and mirror - but I'm young appearing highly successful gives me a huge edge and surrounds me effortlessly around other successful people.
No. It makes you the brunt of all the Patrick Bateman jokes when you're out of the room. You're precious though, I'll give you that.
Ha! I knew someone else would pick up on that. How many prostitutes do you think he has butchered?0 -

^^Justin Beiber gets millions a month and blows wads of cash on long sleeved shirts to wear as pants. I think we all know how much respect he gets...
^fair point, but he also has been doing racial slurs, driving drunk, and promoting substance abuse - I think that is why everyone is turned off to him, not because he wears designer clothes.
Maybe so but I have one word for you... "skants"...0 -
Everything about the spornosexual answer sounds like a major *kitten* to me. 0/10 would not approach or give the time of day.0

I sometimes feel inadequate, like I don't do enough valuable things in life.
Then I come across people whose only concern and purpose in life is themselves, and what to call their silly sexual or fashion preferences.
I guess by this quiz I'm an outdated 20th century male, because I was meant for greater things than just being a all over myself. I sure would feel like trash though if my whole identity centered around being a "Metrosexual" or "Spornosexual". Congratz, you're so simple you can be described with one word.0 -
So... only men can be stereotyped? I'm confused by this use of "bro" because I call my lady friends "bro" all the time because it sounds stupid and hilarious.
^da faq? The title says "HEY BRO! YOU A METROSEXUAL OR A SPORNOSEXUAL?" This thread is regarding 3 sterotypes of men, the average guy, the guy that cares about his wardrobe and personal appearance, and the guy that cares more about his body and personal appearance. There is now simply an observation that the spornosexual is different from a metrosexual, and there is a significant difference.
Not belittling - but if this is seriously news to people then there is seriously a huge age gap in understanding, a lack of a college education, or you live in a very rural area - not saying any of that is wrong but I'd venture to say that is accurate.
If you are to represent sophistication and higher education...
*looks down at omega watch, and recent contracted painting hanging on wall* ... umm...yeahhh?
Status symbols aren't proof of higher education.
Boy, your ignorance is really showing... you might want to quit while you are behind.
I couldn't have gotten the status I have now without the multiple degrees I got. I'd venture to say in these times, unless you are an extreme outlier or blessed even more than me you need a degree to be rocking an omega watch and to be dropping a few G's to have a painting contracted out.
I find it hard to believe you have any form of reputable college education, the way you talk(type) is full on ridiculous and uneducated.
Anyone can say they have fancy stuff on the interwebs.
You have no way to prove to me you have the things you say you do, but i have no way to prove otherwise, except your douchecanoe spelling, and sentence formation.
As far as needing a degree to afford a watch and a painting, that's utter BS, i have no degree but i make ample enough money to afford trivial things like that.

^That is a bit inappropriate.
Actually, if you have read the Book by ellis or have seen Bale's performance as the character and then reference this thread and this thread alone you can see the mirroring of Bateman. If your offense comes from the murdering aspect then you should not be offended because he didn't actually murder anyone. Well, maybe the homeless guy. It is more about how he uses fashion and flash, and flair to move up in society. Title and power were all that mattered to him and in his craze to become more powerful he started to lose himself into fantastical fantasies where he actually believed he were murdering these people. The way I see it is he tried so hard to live this fantasy and become what he imagined that the line blurred between reality and fantasy. Keep in mind that I have no formal education and I am by no means an expert on literature, symbolism, or phsychology. That is simply what I take away from the story.
Anyway, I lost my train of thought. Your reference to the material things and success and how hand in hand they are and that one feeds the other reflects the very same morality and mentality of Batemen. I actually had the same comparison running in my head before she said anything.0 -

-listen these quotes are a bit humbling because I will admit they are applicable - how does one go about enhancing their substance?
As I said I am a former addict -was a very very bad person and turned around my life, got the degrees, and just prioritized working and working focusing on buying things basically to stay on the straight and narrow. I will admit I have a ton to work on when it comes to substance - so I'm asking respectfully then since you are giving solid input here - how would one go about developing their substance?
And sure I won't talk about my clothes anymore- obviously step 1 .. but for real - recommendation?0 -
And back in. Because this is hysterical and try-hard is trying hard.

^you must have not read the book. he did murder them Ellis talks about it further in lunar park.
and yeah I am offended about the murdering aspect - that is a repulsive comparison. If I was being compared to Victor Ward - then sure it could be an insult in some ways but applicable in others - but Batemen and me have about nothing in common.0 -
