My boyfriend taught me this, and it's pretty much what's been getting me through and keeping me from becoming obsessive with my progress:

Slow and steady wins the race.

    Also:

Motivation gets you started, habit keeps you going (not sure who said this, though).

    "Daaaaaang you look good."

I will keep telling myself this because every day I look better and healthier than the day before.

It's not a clearly defined motto, but something like " if you can do it today, don't wait for tomorrow ".

There are too many people who plan to start diet and/or exercise " next, week because my fridge is full of junk food, when I can afford a gym, after the holidays, tomorrow because today I " deserve a treat "...... for me those are mostly avoidance tactics and I try very hard not to fall into that trap.

    Btw: Great mottos everyone !

No main one but some are "a year from now you will wish you did" and "when you feel like giving up remember why you started."

I have a few for work outs:

Always let them see you sweat

Better to be sore today than sorry tomorrow

One day this will be my warm-up

I actually have two mottos: `Patience is the key` and `Even if I will never have my dream body, it's still better than it used to be`

One of my fears before weightloss was that it was useless. I will lose a couple of kgs, but still be fat, still be far from girls that look good. But what I learned is that every kg lost helps... I may not have a beautifull / great body, but at least I'm not huge anymore. And some clothes look a lot better on me.
I guess it' frustrating to some point that no matter what, I will never be any closer to great looking girls I see in magazines and real life. It's like setting a goal but knowing that you cannot achieve it. But actually doing a little more for your body is still a small improvement.

    "Advance the ball"

Has become my motto for most situations in my life here lately.

*edited to sound less like a moron...if possible.
  • I made this one up, I think it's kinda relevant
"You never know what you're gonna run from" ~ meaning running away from trouble to stay safe, better be fit in that position!
