What is your weight loss motto?

Mine is do what needs to be done today.
That means, don't dwell on yesterday, don't worry about how long it will take, and don't try to pass of today's work on tomorrow. Just focus on what needs to be done today and do it.0 -
tomorrow will be a lot easier if you did this yesterday, so get it done today!!!!0

Not this summer.0

I am the only thing between fat and fit.
Or maybe something pithy about cute dresses and not having to go through another summer in cardigans because I'm embarrassed by my flab. "Sweat for dresses or sweat in dresses!" seems like an awkward battle cry though0 -

As with all things one desires the major component is willpower. Willpower is a muscle, it strengthens when used frequently and deteriorates if used infrequently. Once strong that willpower can be applied in your life where you see fit. Keeping sound mind and body is an excellent tool to exercise your willpower regularly and keep it in form so that when you have to jump out of that plane when you are scared of heights or you have to make that aggressive play for a promotion at work you have that strength of will at hand and ready to tap.
Being in shape isn't just about looking good, its about being better and more prepared. Vanity is cheap, but willpower and confidence come in handy.
I haven't distilled that down to a pithy saying yet.
Strength takes practice? Practice strength? Being strong makes you strong?0 -

"Don't let perfect be the enemy of good."
This one too.
Another one that I use comes from the MFP fitspiration thread.
The story goes that a group of physically disabled people came in to the MFP member's gym and started working out. A guy with one arm was doing bench presses and his spotter was yelling "Ain't no reason you can't, Man."
When I hit that last rep and need to push through or hold it til I drop, I think about that guy and his spotter and the fact that we have more limits inside the confines of our skulls than we ever do in the real world.0 -
"If nothing changes. Nothing changes."
And
"A year from now you'll wish you had started today."0 -
"I'm not losing weight, I'm getting rid of it. I have no intent of ever finding it again."0
-
"The difference between try and triumph is a little bit of umph"0
-
"Don't let my success or failure hinge on a motto."0
-
Muhammad Ali once said, ‘I hated every minute of training, but I said, “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."'0

"Mediocre people do exceptional things all the time." ~OK Go "What To Do"
This isn't just my weight loss motto, but a life motto. People seem to feel like this is a negative quote but "mediocre" isn't negative to me, I take it to mean "average, everyday, normal". This helps to remind me that everybody is capable of doing exceptional things and that I don't have to be super talented, and amazing to do something exceptional, I just have to be myself and work hard. Give people a chance and they'll surprise you with the most exceptional things!0 -
