Need very strict friends : 1200-1300 calories a day

For the next 10 weeks I am determine to lose 20 pounds and today is my first day of the 1200-1300 calorie diet. Anyone with me? Just add me I would appreciate every friend request, just am really wishing I have a strong willed community. I eat very healthy (no junk food ever for 2 years, not even once ), but dont expect others to eat this maniac way. I need a support group that dont exceed calorie limits, so that I can get motivated to go through this 10 weeks.
I know calories are low, but I know what I do and actually must do it. I am 5ft7-5 ft8, around 152 pounds, want to be around 20 less in 10 weeks. I gained weight with a healthy paleo lifestyle, because I binged on potatoes with butter due to depression for several months.

To the girl above: I dont know if my post was the best, all I know is that I wanted to show you I dont want to go into some cheap discussions. I really appreciate every opinion, even if it is different from mine. Just dont want to turn the thread into a discussion board how something is unrealistic. I prefer to actually do it, even if I actually fail.
Some comments sound a bit hater-y.
As for my binge problem: no, it was due to a bad break up. I broke up with my boyfriend.
Anyways....

Amandap 1970. I know how u feel. I am 5'2" and should weigh 105 lbs based on my body size. I am now up to 117 lbs and feel like crap. I am done with buying bigger clothes. We can do this0

As you are young the 1200 cals will probably work it did for me when I was that age, go forward 12 years and another 5 stone (70lbs) and the binge/crash diet doesn't work so well.
Maybe have a retink and ask yourself how you will maintain 1200 cals a day long term as you will need to otherwise you will be in binge/crash diet cycle and have alot more to lose.0 -

i would consider a more realistic goal that is less likely to end in failure and bingeing... but thats just me!
I think its pretty realistic goal!!! if you think about it 10 weeks is 2 1/2 months... and its less than 10 lbs a month and about 1 3/4 lbs a week
its not unrealistic its actually doable!!

i would consider a more realistic goal that is less likely to end in failure and bingeing... but thats just me!
I think its pretty realistic goal!!! if you think about it 10 weeks is 2 1/2 months... and its less than 10 lbs a month and about 1 3/4 lbs a week

It will be VERY difficult for you to lose 2lbs a week consistently, and if you do, you will be losing lean mass, not fat. 2lbs is doable for obese/overweight people - not so much for people in a normal weight range.

Honey, you are still in a very healthy weight range.
Actually pretty much exactly where I sit and I'm still seen as "thin" and "fit"
Being in that healthy weight range let me tell you it's a b*tch to lose weight.
I understand shooting for that low number but reasses your goals and come up with something healthier and more realistic and sustainable.
Get to the gym and fall in love with some weights. You'd be amazed but after some time lifting your body does wonderful things.

Sorry, but there is a huge difference in calorie requirements from a 22 year old to a 62 year old woman!
I am just going to assume that after the OP loses the 20 pounds, or doesn't, she'll just go back to eating potatoes loaded with butter. I would love to see one of these threads where people are taking the time to give real advice based on their own and thousands of other MFP users actually make a difference. Its a bummer that it falls on deaf ears. They really are trying to help.0 -

I have 134 lbs to lose and just started my journey 2 days ago. I love this App keeps me super aware. I need supporters as yourself and your 10 week goal sounds like a first goal for me that could work. Please add me as a friend and supporter.
Welcome. I know this site works as I lost 20 lbs but unfortunately, stopped using it and in last 9 months out back on 15 lbs. had to buy new clothes and am pissed at myself. I started to have a glass of wine here and there which led to two and binging. Now the hips r back on!!! I think 15 lbs in 10 weeks is possible. I tossed the wine and started to log.0 -

i don't think 1200 a day is unreasonable, especially if you are allowing yourself to earn more by exercising.
may be easier as i don't eat meat...but i do love cheese
i have been doing this for about 6 weeks now and have lost 18lb, now down to 140lb
it has slowed down recently, so i just need to figure out why to get it kickstarted again
any ideas?0 -
You can totally lose 20 pounds in 10 weeks with daily exercise and diet. People on here bashing this are trolls, overweight, or don't even have real pics. I lost 25 pounds last year in 2 months so it is possible. I wouldn't recomen staying at that calorie level once you lose the weight though. Try uping it a little when you make your goal and weigh yourself daily to see what's the right amount of cals you need to maintain.0
