Good morning everyone! Just popping in to as hi before I turn into a whirlwind to get everything done. Have to pack for the trip and take the dogs to the kennel, then drive 3hours to the airport. I worked on drafting till about 1AM, but got it all done, well, just the first batch. The others I will do on the trip.

The pool was fun. The little guy actually swam a few strokes, from the side of the pool to me, then back to the side. About a hundred times. I was pretty happy with his determination.

Patty, congrats on the FIVE POUNDS! That's amazing!

Alison, water or not, it's great to get rid of.

Gotta run. Have a great day everyone!

    back again,
well I went to the gym, did alot of the machines, and 1/2 treadmill, though my fitbit only logged 29 minutes:grumble:
came home almost fell down the cellar stairs:noway: the good lord was with me on that one as I caught myself.have laundry in the dryer.
I saw Patty Labelle on Good Morning America yesterday and she made these awesome turkey burgers, so I went and found the recipe..
there are dried cranberries in it, but it is ground turkey a 1/2 cup of crushed stuffing mix,1 egg white ,sauted onion and parsley.. made those and threw those in the freezer.
have to roast some asparagus and saute some mushrooms

    Good morning, all.

Patty, I totally agree about the sluggishness. Too much sugar does it to me. I feel so much better when I lay off the sugar. I'm not quite to the point where I can remember it BEFORE I put the candy or cake in my mouth, but I'm getting there!

We've been for our walk, had my breakfast, and now I'm off to babysit my precious grandchildren. I just wish I didn't have to drive an hour and a half in rush-hour Atlanta traffic to get to them.

have a great day, my friends!

Good morning! I was doing so well yesterday until I got into my dark chocolate last night. Do you ever catch yourself doing something that is an old habit? Like grabbing the bag instead of counting out the portion and putting the bag away? Made me really angry with myself. Good thing I had gotten in lots of extra steps yesterday. According to the conversation between MFP and Fitbit, I squeaked by with 11 calories left over. Stomach feels crappy this morning, though.

Congratulations to those who have made the weight disappear! I'm getting better on track and hope that once the house is actually on the market (ie, when all the repairs are done), that things will smooth out a bit. I'm so sick of cleaning up after the handyman! I would have covered my furniture if he had just TOLD me he was going to be sanding the ceiling! Instead, I'm taking so much sanding dust off of my furniture that it just piles up into little piles instead of sticking to the dusting cloth.

The boy child slacked yesterday and didn't finish the list I gave him. Today, I will not be kind with my list! Yesterday, everything should have taken him less than two hours. He didn't actually finish anything and didn't even start some of it. If that is the situation tonight, he will be packing his bags and moving in with his father. I can't take the added stress of his sabotaging what I'm doing! :brokenheart:

An old friend whom I have not seen in over 25 years contacted me last week. We are planning to have lunch together on Friday while she is passing through the area. I am excited!! We used to spend loads of time with her and her now ex-husband before they moved out of state and subsequently divorced.

I'm off to try to get in another 10-15 minutes worth of walking before I am no longer alone in the office. I'll try to post again later!

    Good Morning,
Haven't been here for awhile...I am not very good at posting...I have made it out for walks this summer..outside..big deal for me....I get anxious being out around all the people..my DH goes with me..it really helps...I am missing my DD and my GS's..they went on a little holiday trip for a few days....why is it so hard to ..not worry...about them....
We haven't gone very far this summer...having issues with my bowels...cannot get cleaned out...been at it for months.:explode: ......see a specialist next week as my Dr has just about exhausted as to what to do.:grumble:  .....and cannot have a colonoscopy done till it is clear....it has been hard...eat for a wk maybe..then back on liquid and soft foods while we try another regiment of meds....Praying the Specialist can help....
Glad to see so many of you enjoying summer and all her beauty....its barbeque... and insect time....I pray you are all doing well...enjoy each day..in every way :flowerforyou:

Lesley: I am enjoying your posts of life in our opposite season. In all too short a time I'll be posting about fall and winter weather. Summer is my best time, and I know the summer will not last as long as I wish it to last. :ohwell: My cousin has become a snowbird. He spends his summers here and his winters in Arizona. Is there a potential snowbird destination in your part of the world?:flowerforyou:

Joyce: In my years as a teacher I worked with a lot of latch key kids. It is a tough situation for them, but many turn out just fine. Others get into trouble. Our society has become more isolated over time. We no longer live in extended family groups, for the most part, and that is tougher for kids. It sounds like your DGD’s friend spends too much of her alone time snacking. The bottom line is survival, and that is what her mom is trying to do.:flowerforyou:

Kim: The closest I’ve been to a true British Pub is in Victoria, BC. We have lots of “Irish Pubs” in our area, but I doubt anyone from Ireland would feel at home there. I’m wondering what things you’ve taught the kids to cook at camp.:flowerforyou:

Cynthia: I’m glad your vet’s office was able to help your dog. We try very hard to take good care of them, but they can’t tell us where things hurt. :flowerforyou:

Alison: Three cheers for the scale moving the right direction! I’m glad you’re back to drinking your lemon water. :drinker: The cranberry turkey burgers sound like a yummy taste of Thanksgiving. I'd love to have the recipe.:flowerforyou:

Heather: I was up almost three pounds after my birthday, but just have a pound to go to be back where I want to be. Eating with DS has been a challenge. It is all too easy to overindulge. He can eat so much more than I can and hold his weight at a healthy level. It comes from being male and 26 years younger.:grumble: I feel great now that I'm officially a "senior," and I have more energy and strength than I did in my forties, but I can't eat like my son and stay healthy.:frown: :flowerforyou:

Patty: I’m glad you’ve put yourself back on track. It is easy to slide away. As to your friend who spends money on diet books, etc, but doesn’t change her habits; she is clearly not ready to let go of bad habits. I doubt I could have been successful at losing weight while still working because of the stress filled lifestyle, long commute, and the mindset that I was doing the best I could. The mindset was my biggest obstacle. Perhaps your good example and success will eventually help her realize that change is possible.:flowerforyou:

Pat in OH: Thanks for the Listeria warning. We shop at some of those stores.:flowerforyou:

Sylvia: I agree that excess water weight needs to be addressed. It feels worse than real fat, makes my fingers puffy, and turns me into Mrs.Cranky Pants. For many people, it contributes to heart problems.:flowerforyou:

Katie: I have sympathy for your unpleasant commute to see the DGC, but I’d love to have that problem. My grandchild is four states & three travel days away. Count your blessings. :flowerforyou:

Carol in NC: I’m happy that you’ll get to see your old friend. Regarding sons: My DS is staying with us while working on his boat and I can sympathize with the mess-making complaint. It will be grand when he gets his boat work done. He dropped an unwelcome bomb into the works yesterday when he told us he plans to leave it in our storage unit over the winter. We have plans for that space! We want to set up DH’s shop in it and reclaim our garage for the car.:ohwell: :frown:

LizPlus from Halifax: I’m so happy to see your post! Please stop by as often as you can. Re bowels: we used a product made my Fleet to clean things out so we could get our colonoscopies. It did the job, though it wasn’t pleasant because we spent hours in the potty. It wasn’t actually painful. In my case, the trip to the doctor’s office the next morning was torture due to worries of accidents and driving distance. (I made it without accident.) When it was DH’s turn we got a hotel room just a quarter mile away from the doctor’s office so he could do his pre-visit bowel purge without worrying about the commute. I wonder if the Fleet treatment would work for you. Good luck.:flowerforyou:

We have a rainy morning and DS is still asleep, which means I’m not currently on slave duty. I’ve actually enjoyed helping him with the boat and the only drawback is getting coated with fiberglass dust and needing to wash my work clothes every day. The dust is on the floor and all the surfaces, not in the air, so it doesn’t bother our breathing. DS wears nose & mouth protection when sanding and I stay away until he's ready for my help.

    2. Cardio exercise at least 3 days a week.
    3. Have fun every day.
    4. Drink at least three glasses of water daily, preferably more!

Oh, Katla, I know I am lucky to have the DGKs as close as they are. I feel for you. My children were that far away from their paternal grandparents. It was tough.

I had Amy's Cheese Enchilada dinner for lunch. I had forgotten how yummy it is. My daughter has all kinds of snacks in the cabinet. I 'm trying extremely hard to ignore them.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!!! Sunny, hot, and humid here.

Volunteered at the run/picnic last night; my table registered 136 runnners and the other table did even more so we were very well-attended.........expecting 600+ at next weeks run.......running into major problems with people bringing so many friends and family and not being honest and paying the "food fee" and just eating so early (we set the food up as soon as registration is done, when the runners are out on the course) and taking so much that there's nothing left for the course marshals and slower runners........last night a whole h.s. cross country team which volunteered to act as marshals did not get ANY pizza; unacceptable!!!! DD and I got there at 3:30pm and didn't leave until almost 9. She helped with registration and then ran. We serve watermelon (this am my wrist is sore from slicing!!!!) , bananas, and pizza and they are meant for runners, volunteers, and those who pay a $2.00 fee.........not exactly a hefty fee!!! We need a better system..........

Someone ( NOT me!!!) spilled the beans and the DJ announced DD's birthday and had everyone sing to her; you can imagine how embarrassed she was!!! How things change---when she turned 16 one of the Tues. races fell on her bday and I took brownies for 300 and she thought it was great..............

Kim...........Looking forward to your tv spot! Break a leg!!

Heather........What a sweet new picture; he sure looks like he's concentrating on what you are doing!. Hope you get those errands finished off today. DGD sounds just soooooooo adorable; I'm sure I'd be holding her all the time I could too---enjoy!!!

Sylvia...........LOVED the Bill Gates joke; told it several times last night and it went over very well.

Mimi............Yep.........."Dr's orders" that's the way to go
    perfect excuse!!!

Joyce............Yes, I too remember the "fudge bargain" of last year.............

Michele.......Your drizzly weather has not come east enough to reach me............

    Cynthia............Poor doggy!!!

Patty............Congrats on the five lbs. down!!!!

Carol..........Boy-child..........been there; felt like I was pushing a rock up a hill at times..........

Liz..........So nice to see you on the thread!!! Love your graphic!

    Hi to everyone I skipped!
    Stay Strong!!!

Happy Wednesday. :drinker: So far not starting out well. Having problems with one of the clinics we answer for. They are to turn on the phones at 8 am, at 8:30 I am still getting their calls and people are not happy. So called the manager and she is to be finding out what is going on. I had a bad evening last night and not sure why. Ended up eating little white donuts. Felt terrible when I went to bed, but today is a new day and I have to get back on track. We waited until 9 to take the dogs for their walk. It had cooled off some and alittle breeze, so was a nice walk. That helped with over eating some.

Pat--hope the eye doctor can take care of what is going on easy and quick. A lady I work with got some fruit from Sams and they called her last Monday evening about the recall. Well like she said it had been a week and she had eaten one and it tasted bad. Threw the rest away. I am so glad for the local farmers market as know where and who it is from.

Cynthia--hope puppy is feeling better. Glad they were able to take care of him right away.

Allison--congrates on the 2 pounds loss. One day at a time.:flowerforyou:

    Patty--congrates on your 5 pound loss.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Liz--I sure hope the doctor can get it figured out soon.

It is my 8 hour day so planning to walk home. So far been an ok food day. Have to keep it up. Going to enjoy the walk home and talk with God. Hope you all are having a good day. Enjoy.
    Blessings, Vicki GI NE:heart:

 Vicki in Neb,thank you. Dr's clerk called this morn, said they could see me next Wed. Told her no way I would wait that long,so have appt tomorrow.I much prefer my eye Dr from our hometown, but that is 65 miles each way.Have been doing most of the driving since DH started having medical probs.

Our DD,her DH's & Grson leave Friday for Nashville, then on to Pigeon Forge. They rent a cabin in the mtns every summer & always invite us.It's my fav place by far,but DH said he just didn't want to go.He means the world to me,so not a problem. Think I was an ole mountain gal back somewhere. They are like home ....sun coming up or sunset. A sight to behold.

My peaches came from Lucky's store this yr & so delicious, but who knows what grower? Seem we hear more & more food :explode: recalls.Doubt that will ever get better.

 Carol.....Our younger DD was one of those teens who knew it all. I remember.....after getting on her about something, her standard reply was "I know" & my reply was "then why do I need to tell you?" Grrrr:grumble: Would have traded her for anybody at times. She grew up,regardless of me .....married,2 kids & a nurse.Liked by most everyone & has never caused us any worry since she got over knowing it all. Keep the faith. He will be fine, tho your gut may never be the same

Of all places,DH wanted to go for lunch at McDonalds. He seldom mentions any certain place. I ate the meat (?) on 1/2 bun & had unsweet tea. Then we had a small cone each. Was looking at their nutro site & the cone has more fat than most of their sandwiches.
If I have much for lunch, don't care for having supper,so that will be fruit, salad or a protein bar.

Jabber,Jabber is me......You all have a great day.

Cheers to all those pounds coming off:drinker: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent the day working in the yard. Mowing ,clipping the hedge and throwing Japanese Beetles into soapy water, then cutting off damaged areas. They leave a scent behind where they feed that invites their relatives and friends to the fiesta.

Still recovering from our 94 degree day with 75% humidity we had on Monday. That was the day our shower was replaced. Fortunately he finished early afternoon before the major blast of heat hit.

Today I will do yard word, so tomorrow I can sit and enjoy our yard.

:flowerforyou: I am planning to spend 30 minutes with you before calling my cousin who has complained a lot every time I’ve called her and responded to any suggestion I make by saying “Yes, but…….” I need positive solution-seeking thoughts in my head and heart.

:flowerforyou: Mimi, I often eat something before I go to an event where a meal will be served so I’m not too hungry and then can easily skip the bread, potato, rice, pasta, sauces, desserts, etc.

:flowerforyou: Heather, you are right on----saying “doctor’s orders” is a great way to shut down the food pushers.

:flowerforyou: Joyce, I can’t imagine that there would be anything at Holiday World that would be safe for me to eat…..good luck

:flowerforyou: Cathy in NS, I don’t have a fitbit, but I have a pedometer and it encourages me to walk more because I love to see the numbers go up.

:brokenheart: Cynthia, sorry to hear about your dog’s tooth troubles and glad to hear that the vet could take care of it right away.

:flowerforyou: Patty, I feel so frustrated about my friends who say they want to lose weight but aren’t open to suggestion and don’t want to give up food as a friend, entertainment, and reward.

:flowerforyou: Carol in NC, the only way I can stay away from those foods where I might grab the whole bag, is to keep them out of my house....thus there is no yogurt, cereal, peanut butter, and many other “goodies” in my house.

:flowerforyou: Linda in Ontario, I went to a TOPS meeting with a friend a few years ago and it seemed like a very friendly and supportive atmosphere.

:flowerforyou: I finished reading the posts and am feeling very positive. You all make my day better. I walked the dogs in the (much needed) rain this morning then went to line dance class where I heard an endless repetition of someone’s horrible weekend and how she still hadn’t recovered from how bad it was, blah blah, blah. She’s the sort who never stands up for herself then enjoys the attention of telling everyone how “put-upon” she is by all the trials and tribulations. I was very happy to come home to my sweet hubby, dogs, and cat. The dogs and I had another great walk in still more rain.

Vicki...........hope your phone problems got straightened out.

    Lin............Hmmmmmm...2.6 loss---I'd take it!!!! Congratulations!

    Pat...........Love your lilly pic!!!

Realized today that my beautiful loaded cherry tomatoes are not going to be red; they are turning yellow-orange; not what I bought at all, must have been labeled incorrectly............that's just soooooooo wrong.......

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........We have been waiting (and waiting) for DD to get an appt. at college, so we can go on a little vacation to Pa., just going to head up I- 81 afterward
see relatives and camp a bit.........she was wait-listed at a good # for this years vet school class, which is great but means she won't get picked up this year and needs to re-apply for next year and go through it all again
getting picked for an interview, then, if that happens, all the hopes, all the stress, all the waiting, etc. Well, they offer an interview to those not picked up who are going to re-apply so you can receive constructive criticism on where you were lacking. So..........she sent an email requesting this follow up to the person who sent the letter offering the interviews; this person replied to say she was forwarding it to the person who does the actual interview...............OK, after waiting over 2 weeks and hearing from no one, DD called the person she spoke with who gave her the interview persons phone and said to just call. Well, after calling and getting "full mailbox" for days, this woman finally answered today and told DD that she only replied to emails sent directly to her, not forwarded ones and to send another one................so DD sent one directly to her this afternoon. I am soooooooo livid and frustrated...........arghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! One step forward and two back!!!!!!

Cynthia – wow! Sorry to hear about furbaby, but so glad you brought him along.

Heather – glad to hear you have another entertaining opportunity !
You have such fun with the grandbabies! Love the stories.. “Graberoo”

Patty – don’t think your hair could make you look like a clown! Congrats with the 5lbs!!!!

Alison – great job on weight loss!!! Glad you caught yourself and did not fall down the stairs

Carol – great job with a repercussion for your son.

Yanniejannie – hmm, maybe a handstamp if you pay for food, and no hand stamp no plate?
That college’s system is just plain stupid!

Jane – thinking of you with the trailer? Isn’t it a mobile home?

Linda – 2.6 lbs is excellent!

So someone asked what I am making with the kids, so this week is Advanced baking, we did croissants - 2 kinds one the "real" ones and one recipe called "quick" which makes a nice bread/roll product that is shaped like a croissant, a multi-grain yeast bread with a biga for rising, meringue cookies, thumbprint cookies, deep fried yeasted doughnuts, cake pops, hand pies, funnel cake, and a special request for fudge.

Now talk about a challenge to not do any more than a taste to critique these goodies...The class was planned and advertised before I started here so for next year I will probably make some different choices.

Greetings from Omaha. The weather was nice today; not too hot, not too humid. We had a 2 hour power outage last night but fortunately the air came back on prior to going to bed!!! Mainly today we went through all the vacation photos, all the photos on the computer, AND gathered up 11 rolls of old film that need to be developed. I need a scrapbook intervention!

I did go see dad today, He took one look at me and said I looked like I was coming off a 3-day drunk! I guess I look as exhausted as I feel!

Gloria: our main computer needs a new hard drive too. It goes in tomorrow for a major upgrade.

Cathy: your cat looks a lot like mine do! Hope you find some common ground with activities for hubby!

DrKatie: good job being active at your conference!

Michele: I think you and I are old timers here!

    Katla: get some rest!

Lesley: did you mean to say you “seasoled” the garden? If so what is that?

Joyce: I am sure if you look closely, you will find that your AARP bag has NO room for fudge. Not even a teeny bit! LOL

Kim; good choice getting salad instead of mashed potatoes. I am not a potato fan so the couple times we went somewhere that had fries with lunch I always got the salad and had some great ones!

Cynthia: so sorry your doggie had a sore mouth but I am glad it is taken care of now.

    Patty: congratulations on your loss!

Alison: so glad you weren’t injured!

Liz: glad you are back here! Hope your visit with the specialist gives you information!

Vicki: hope you get some good walks in with it being a bit cooler now

Jane: keeping my fingers crossed about the trailer

    Lin: congrats on your loss!

Barbie: those kind of people drive me crazy!!!

    Yanniejannie: wow that is frustrating!!!

Well that’s about it for me. Need to go stretch my back; all that bumping around on the trails gave me a back ache that goes down my leg into my ankle. Time for the back stuff again! Take care. Meg from Omaha where it was actually very nice today

Did an hour of Kelly Coffee Meyer 30 Minutes to Fitness DVD. Actually, there's two workouts and I did both of them (just skipped the stretching after the first one) along with the bonus ab section. Tomorrow the plan is to do a LaLoFit DVD (weights)

Joyce - when I made the cupcakes for Jess yesterday, the directions for the fondant said to put a layer of buttercream frosting first on the cake (probably to hold the fondant in place). The container said "vanilla flavored" so I thought it was white. Well, it was tinted orange! That's what I get for buying Halloween icing. I know that it won't go bad so I got it on sale. Have fun at your lunch. Sounds like you picked a great place.

Kim - how I WISH there was a "get thin" button. I know Vince is waiting for "Vitamin E" -- the "E" standing for exercise....lol I agree with you. I am a much more independent person because of the fact that my mother died when I was young and I didn't have someone else to depend on to make sure I had enough shampoo, I packed the things I needed, etc. I was responsible for those types of things. Lexi will be in the hospital until, they estimate, this Thursday. Then she comes home and for two weeks when I clean the litter box, I have to wear latex gloves, she can only have minimal contact with us (she can't sit in our laps for hours and hours), I need to put the litter aside for a month (I'd forgotten that part). After two weeks, I can put that litter in the garbage, but the used litter from the first two weeks she was home I have to hold onto for another two weeks before I can put it in the garbage. They gave her the injection yesterday and I went there last night and she still wasn't eating. If she doesn't eat, they'll give her sub-q fluids. Sounds like you had a great dinner

Update on Lexi: I took the egg yolks there last night and they said today that she ate them up and had a can of Friskies. We're going to pick her up tomorrow at 5. I know Vince wishes it was earlier in the day, but that can't be helped.

Have a Newcomer board meeting then senior bowling. I already have my water and carrots in the car to take to bowling since we'll probably go straight to bowling from the meeting.

Patty - what a loss. What's your secret? When I start to let flour and sugar back, I feel sluggist, too. I can have A LITTLE flour (white bread or something like that) but not much or else I feel like I want to go to sleep. Sugar just makes me feel "yuk". Why I can't seem to say "no" to fat and sugar is beyond me. But I can tell you that lately I don't want as much.

Alison - so glad you caught yourself!

Carol in NC - have fun at your lunch

barbie - from the pic you posted, I'd say that yoga is working for you

Went to the Newcomers board meeting, then to WalMart since the bowling alley didn't open yet, then to senior bowling (they put my refrigerated items in their refrig while I bowled), then home and made these "lasagna cupcakes" to take to a social for Newcomers this weekend. I just realized that our pool social is only a week away.

:grumble: Someone put out a bowl of jelly beans by the printer at work yesterday (with a Costco bag beside it in case the bowl runs out). Today I broke down and had some. Why?! I have no idea why. I don't even like jelly beans, they do not call to me, I do not even like the taste. :noway: Chocolates of great quality, now that would be a different story.

Little grand baby and my other grand babies are my heart. Tomorrow morning will be last time I get to drive toddler to day care. After that, he will be staying home with his mom, while she is off on maternity leave. Toddler will be in pre-school in the fall. Time flies. I intend to treasure each moment as much as I can.

It was a cloudy rainy day today, but alas, not enough rain for the ground. DH played golf with a friend. Do you know that he can remember every single shot of his game? And he says he also remembers his co-player's shots. What IS that?!

I will be watching Extant with Halle Barry tonight. First of all, I love her; secondly, the show is intriguingly mysterious. Just the way I like it.

Best to all of my Vitamin F friends, where ever you are at.

Yanni, I think that reviewer needs to have her own work critiqued.

Well there were only 3 of us today at lunch but one of them leads such an interesting life she keeps us interested for hours. She and her daughter own a goat farm. They raise them and show them. They routinely take national champ. One of them went for $2200!!! I never know what she is doing when I call her. The other day she was down milking the goats. They pastueirze the milk and have been able to isolate this one thing in the milk or whatever that can cause them to get arthritis. So they don't do stud fees or anything because they don't want to contaminate their herd. They make goat cheese, yogurt and about anything else they can make out of the milk. She is going to have us out to her house for our lunch in October. Hopefully there will be some babies we can feed. When they show these goats at the competitions they even have to personally clip every hair on the udders. Ouch, those Mommas must be very patient.

But we had a good time. Neither one had ever been to Smiling Moose deli. I didn't know that Wednesday is free cookie day. You get it with the purchase of a large salad of any kind or a large salad. I had the salad. And yes I dd eat the cookie. YUM!

Going to be pretty cool tomorrow, sweater weather and if you go to the county fair it's sweatshirt weather.

Congrats all in the weight loss!!!

Just popping in to relay my biggest NSV to date. I FIT IN THE PLANE SEAT AND DIDNT NEED A BELT EXTENDER! It had about 8" of seat belt to spare. You can't imagine how happy I was! We have not travelled by plane in a few years because it was so uncomfortable and humiliating to try to fit in the seats. And I fit comfortably, too. Even with the arm rests down.

Don't get me wrong, the seats are still uncomfortable, but no more so than they are for the other people.

We have about 90 minutes in Phoenix, then off to Portland.

    Happy day!

SEASOL is a natural spray I use as we are totally organic here. The garden is always full of birds, butterflies and bees. It becomes easier as the years pass. The birds eat the bugs and fruit and veg healthy as.
Only walked today. NO frost this morning, so had breakfast, showered and dressed and Mildred beagle and I went for our 2 mile walk, she is MUCH happier now thank goodness.
Afternoon at hairdressers for re-colour and trim and feel good again now.
Putting on pounds again since I went back to my weights but BF% same as last week, all LBM.
green shoots on all spring flowers and buds on trees, Spring nearly here again

    Good morning everyone!

Patty: congratulations on the 5 pounds! :flowerforyou:

Sylvia: safe trip! I missed what you are going to do: is it vacation? Maybe you should sell the “Mrs. Cranky Pants” mugs! Yay for the plane seat! We’re flying next week and I’m looking forward to seeing how the belt fits. Last time I flew it juuuuuust fit.

Alison: so glad you didn’t fall! :flowerforyou:

Carol: sorry about the stress. Seeing your old friend should balance it all out a bit! :flowerforyou:

Joyce: my brother and I were “latch key kids” after a certain age and turned out OK. My mom was a teacher and she came home about an hour or so after we did. The neighbors would have been available if there had been any emergency. Thinking back, this might have been a reason I started comfort eating. I remember going through the kitchen cupboards looking for things to eat (I mean, not the healthy snack we were supposed to eat).

Linda: congratulations on your loss! :flowerforyou:

Kim: wishing you energy for the kids and the cooking.

Michele: good luck with Lexi. I was considering the radioactive treatment for Charlie, but it turned out to be a non-issue since he had the sudden kidney failure (not related) and had to be put to sleep in May. (I’m still sad.)

What is the lemon water thing?

Feeling shaky this morning from lack of sleep. We went to bed late and at 6:30 a.m. my guy woke me up out of a deep sleep to let me know my dog was restless, walking around, panting a bit and whining a little. :frown: First thing I thought was that he (the dog) might have belly trouble, so I threw on clothes and took him out. Didn't notice anything unusual. Pushed on the spot on his jaw where the molar was removed, but he didn't flinch, so it doesn't seem like he has pain there. Gave him a small amount of food and went back to bed, but it was hard to get back to sleep. Finally got back to sleep and got woken up by people cutting down a tree at the school behind my house. :explode: I will keep an eye on my buddy and if he seems unusual during the day I may take him in to be looked at. Better safe than sorry.

Had a bunch of stuff planned for today; wonder whether that will all work out, what with watching the dog and lack of sleep.

Wishing everyone a good day! :flowerforyou:

    Good Morning All,
So glad it's Thursday, it is sad to live for the week-end but I do. This Saturday is my DGS's party but nothing else is going on, I plan to get some good work out's in, some cleaning and some yard work if weather permits. I did get the yard mowed last night but that's about it.
Many years ago, back in the late seventies I had a friend who was beat, raped and set on fire by a man, she lived, I really don't know how but she did. She had over 80% of her body burnt, lost part of her hand and endured over 30 operations. The man was a stranger who had picked her up hitchhiking. He has spent the last 36 yrs in prison and is up for parole. THe girl( now woman) has started a petition to keep him in prison. I signed it. There wasn't any mention of how he has done in the past 36 yrs but the amount of rage he showed when he attacked her was beyond description. He actually tried to set her on fire and when it continued to go out he beat her till she passed out, went to the gas station and came back and poured it over her and lit her on fire again. I can't imagine letting him out but who knows what will happen. In some ways my friend has been in a kind of prison ever since he did this to her, she has had to relive it, fear his release, and endure physical and mental pain for all those years. Makes me crazy every time I start thinking about it.
Not this week-end but the following Saturday my twin DGD's and I are volunteering for the Color Run. It is a 5k where you run and get multi-colors of powder sprinkled over you. This is the first time I've volunteered but it looks like a blast. I'm looking forward to it.
I guess I better get to work,

K, I have to work on the remembering part too. I also have to work on not rewarding myself for a 5 lb weight loss with food.

Carol NC, I know just what you’re saying about those old habits. Once you start BOOM! A bag is gone.

Kim, Those bake goods would really be a challenge to stay away from, Congrats on that.

Joyce IN, How interesting to raise goats and be able to produce your own products. Sounds like a lot of work though.

Wishing love, happiness and great health to all today,
    God Bless
