Dinner next to John Kerry and Teresa Heinz, Pamela Anderson at a bar comes to mind. I travel Go to Los Angeles often, so "famous" people are everywhere, so I can't remember every instant. I also live in an area with many pro basketball players and at least two NFL'ers as neighbors. *flicks collar*
Guess it just depends on where you live and/or hang out as to the amount of famous sightings

Years ago when I was a tour guide in a cave, Tony Dow (Wally Cleaver from Leave It To Beaver) came in - I hooked him up on the ropes and taught him how to rappel into the cavern.

From my childhood growing up in an area where a lot of things were filmed -
Lloyd Bridges (Bridges family had a home up there, we saw them often, especially when I worked at the ski area! Super nice, all of them)
    Beau Bridges
    Jeff Bridges
Robert Conrad (pretty much a pompous windbag every time I encountered him)
    River Phoenix
    Richard Dean Anderson
    Michael Landon
    Victor French

Semi-famous locals where I live now that I've spotted in local grocery stores -
    Rodney Grant
    Alan Autry
  • Jordan Zimmermann -I pitcher for the Nationals- cook him lunch about 5 times a year.

I've met the queen (not the band, the real Mcoy!) twice!! Once about 7yrs ago when she opened up a special needs classroom at a school I used to work at for special needs children. The second time was in June 2014 when my husband and I were invited to a garden party she has every year at Buckingham Palace. He was given the invitation by the senior executive manager at his work. I've met some famous actors and a few famous singers, but the queen is by far the most prestigious person I've met.

Heather Locklear - she was in my high school Spanish class (class of '79 - I was '80) and beautiful then too!

Tim Allen - St Petersburg (FL) Grand Prix driving for the Saleen Allen team (his teammate lapped him early on LOL)

Craig T Nelson - 24 hrs of Daytona, awesome driver (far better than Tim Allen) and very personable

Tim Tebow - was eating lunch at the table next to me at PDQ's (not a sports fan so didn't care)

I was an extra in The Fisher King movie (the scene in Grand Central Station) and touched Robin William's shoulder during a break while everyone else was trying to talk to him. Unfortunately I was on the cutting room floor.

I haven't met very many up here in ol' Canada. Though there are lots around in September with TIFF here in Toronto every year. I've working in the restaurant industry for years, so we've had a few in. Eugene Levy, Mary Louise Parker. I served Rachel McAdams in 2006. She came in to the restaurant where I was working because she went to York's theatre program with our GM and was coming by to say Hey! She came in alone and ordered a platter of nachos to herself! Go Rachel!

My fella on the other hand, has a horseshoe up his *kitten*. Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Steven Tyler, Will Arnette, Ron Jeremy, Edward Furlong. There are more. More impressively, he met Beck in a vintage shop in Kennsington Market, started chatting with him and then spent the afternoon hanging out with him. My favourite? Hanging out with Kurt Cobain backstage at a smaller Toronto bar. Pre-Dave Grohl, pre-Nevermind. 15 people in the audience! Lucky brat. But that's why it happens to him, he's pretty cool about the "famous/celebrity" thing and doesn't give it much ceremony/pomp.

Jack Johnson when he was chilling in Raglan cos he has a place up there (best leftie surf in the world)

I went to school in the States with Jordan Fry who is an actor.

But I have lived all but one year of my life in NZ, nope, it's rare to get famous people even here let alone meet one.

I'm thinking you mean other than hanging outside a stage door. Ben Vereen was on a park bench once in NYC, on his phone. we waited politely until he was through and had a terrific conversation with him.

And I guess Abby from Dance Mom's doesn't count either. I used to teach for her. she's my pal.

OOPS I forgot. Michele Obama and Carla Bruni at the G20 a few years ago. our kids performed for them... talk about gracious, kind, inspiring and gorgeous! they spent about 20 minutes interacting with us... then Shelly gave a dynamic speech before a concert with yo yo ma, sarah bareilles and trisha yearwood.. I had a front row seat

    Billy Zane....he was a d*ck.

We had just saw him perform in the play Chicago on Broadway (i.e. BRIGHT FRIGGEN STAGE LIGHTS). I asked if I could take his picture and he said "no the flash hurts my irises".

    <_<

Willie Nelson - His granddaughter and I went to the same small school and we were in many of the same classes. He also filmed a music video and TV movie at my school. I was in both.

Kris Kristofferson - was in the movie Willie Nelson filmed.

George Michael - He and his band came into a restaurant I was at.

Jesse James - He owns a shop here in Austin. I got to meet him there. My mother inlaw went to his shop to buy my husband a T-shirt for his birthday and Jesse offered to show her around and she turned him down . He had no idea who he was so it makes me laugh a bit because I keep thinking most people wouldn't turn him down.

Sandra Bullock - ( before she was married to Jesse James ) she lives / lived in Austin and I saw her at the Salt Lick BBQ.

Unless you are into opera these names will mean nothing lol but they are super famous in the opera world: Jonas Kauffman, Placido Domingo, Rene Pape, Kiri Te Kanawa. Domingo is an idol and I seriously lost my ****.

James Brown - the sportscaster from ABC. Denver Airport. He nodded at me - we had a moment.

Shawn Kemp. He owns a bar in Seattle and he was there on New Year's Eve. We took about 40 selfies together and are now BFFs. Or maybe it was because I had him in a headlock.

The closest I have is this:
Marisa Tomei was in a movie filmed in my (small) hometown. (Playing for Keeps.)

Andy Griffith was also at my small hometown for a made-for-tv movie filmed at a local resort, and he attended the church I also attended one Sunday (but I was not there that day. Figures.)

Harrison Ford: Just a random passing on the street. He is not as dashing in real life as on the screen.

Mike Farrell (B.J. Hunnicutt from M*A*S*H) I cooked his Quarter Pounder with Cheese, NO ONIONS, when I worked at McD's during High School. His kids were with him. I think it was during his divorce. He was an unhappy man. Very, Very tall! He signed his grill ticket for me. Later on, some Grape flavored Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum melted on that grill ticket. I was always sad about that.

Pearl Bailey: I met her during my Freshman year of college (1980) at a hotel in Washington DC. We were staying at the same hotel. I met her twice there. The first time was out front of the hotel. She was eating pistachios. Cracking the shells with her teeth! Ouch! The second time I rode the elevator with her. She had just received a dz long stemmed red roses. She asked me if I liked them and if I would like to smell them. I obliged. The didn't smell all that great but they were very pretty and I said so. Nice lady.

Gerald Ford. (U.S. President) This was during Jr. High. I saw him at a speaking engagement. Not very close, but I saw him. I think I was in 7th grade at the time. I was not all the thrilled, either. I would have been more impressed with meeting his son. He was cute!
  • Most of these came from when I was a student at NMU.

    Dr. Ruth Westheimer

    Mo Rocca

    Comedian Mike Birbiglia

Naughty By Nature ("Hip Hop Hooray," "OPP")

Blessid Union of Souls ("I Believe, Hey Leonardo)

    Ron Jeremy

    Ben Stein

    Fireflight (Christian rock group)
