The eat a balanced diet and let your body do it's job cleanse.0

"Cleanses" are nothing more than low calorie intake of food or some program you pay for that's low in calories. Eating any particular food doesn't "cleanse" the body at all (one may poop more with more fiber, but that's because they lacked fiber in the first place).
Just eat nutritionally dense food. That's it.

No. There is absolutely no need for a "cleanse" or a "detox". Your organs do a perfectly fine job of that on their own.
Cleanses and Detoxes just separate desperate people from their money.0 -
Can you clarify what you mean by cleanse? It's a broad term
I like a green juice in the before breakfast sometimes, or in place of a meal. I think it helps my digestive track to be cleansed (hydrated, gently nourished, and given a break from additional fiber and digestive load).
So that would be an example of cleansing.0 -
There's no need to detox or cleanse your system and you also do not need to give your organs "a break".

Because that is what your kidneys and liver do.0 -

I'm not saying this to dodge your question, but please read the above link. There really is no need to cleanse, your body is designed to do this for you.0 -

First of all you are making a strawman argument. Nowhere in my post did I claim anything about digestive efficiency or perfection.
Next, are you aware of any evidence that:
a) Digestive efficiency is compromised in most people.
and
b) This is problematic and needs to be fixed.
and
c) A detox or cleanse will exclusively restore digestive efficiency and fix this problem
To m knowledge, this evidence does not exist.0 -
So your body always works at 100% efficiency and always does this job perfectly?
Journals of Medicine, physiology, biology, endocrinology, metabolism, etc. are GREAT sources to refer to when people want to read how to make the body more efficient.
"Detox and cleanse" sellers make up their own brand of pseudoscience to sell product to those who aren't familiar with how the excretory system in the body works.
