Hi!
I started 8/1/11, and just worked my butt off at the gym, and ate better. MFP has been the biggest help for me to get where I am today. I logged it, stuck with it, and just didn't give up!
I did a lot of things, Zumba, Spin, Weights, jogged about 6 5K's, jog/walk briskly outside, Arc Trainer at the gym, and I started with the elliptical at the gym.
I started at 237 lbs, I am 5'3". I have lost 113 lbs so far and am now 123 lbs and 43 years old. The "after" pics were taken this past week.
You also give me inspiration that I can get there!!! You look fabulous! I'm going to be 41 in a few months, and I'm 5' 1.5", started at 226.4 so not far off from where you started, and it gives me such hope that I can do this too!!! Thanks for sharing!!!0 -
I always have trouble sticking to my calories when I get the late night munchies, it's like i lose motivation after 6pm! However posts like these help me keep on track because you're all so inspiring!!! Well done!!0

Love this thread - You all look AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!0

I have lost just under 45kgs so far... I still have about 30kgs to go until my goal wait. I was not at my highest in these photos... but there is about 25kgs+ difference between them.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and feel like I haven't lost anything, but seeing old pictures really helps keep me motivated. I still struggle with self esteem issues but I'm getting better, and my family and boyfriend are very supportive.0 -
Mimi you look so much younger! We are similar age (46) height and weight (232). I'm down to 206 and working on a 100 pound goal. Very inspiring!0

I'll play!
omg how did you do it?
A few tips that I think are really important:
Overall: Make small but sustainable changes. Building habits is key. When it's habit, it's easy! When you make one change into a habit, begin to include another small change.
Exercise: Figure out what you really enjoy. It's different for everybody! I can't stand yoga (I've tried, a few times) it's far too slow paced for me. However, I really enjoy things that get me moving fast: dancing, circuit training, HIIT. If you don't enjoy it, you'll be less inclined to keep it up. I like Jillian Michaels (fave is Ripped in 30) and http://neilarey.com/workouts.html
Food: I love food. I eat back all of my exercise calories, using MFP as it's designed. Invest in a food scale and weigh EVERYTHING. Stick with foods that you enjoy. This includes snacks for those of us that are inclined to munch throughout the day. I snack on cherry tomatoes (or a whole roma) and individually wrapped snack cheeses and the like. Find your happy snacks, make room for them in your day, and stick with those.
Very good tips! And you look AMAZING!0 -

^^ not a huge change, but not too bad for a months time. excited to see the change when I've got a few months between those pictures.
I think my goal is to get down to 120 pounds, but that may change as I get closer to it.
Going to the Dominican Republic at the end of January, 24 weeks away, and I'm hoping to lose at least another 20 pounds by then.0
