I just found this group and think it will be fun to challenge myself. This will give me some accountability to do what I set out to do, so I've joined the group. I challenge myself to 20 miles for October. I set my personal goal this month as 5 miles a week and didn't quite get there. I hope to do better next month.

I had set a goal of 500 miles for the year, but I got lazy and with 3 months to go I still have 300 miles to go. So for me it will be 100 miles to keep me on track.

Oh why not.....25 miles? Coming off a heel injury.....yea, I'm comfortable with that for my 1st running challenge.

Sign me up for 25 miles.

    In for 440km (273.40 miles).
    You're just sick.
That's what I was thinking...we're probably just jealous.

I am not sure what is the worst part of this? The goal distance? The fact he is tracking it in km's? Or that I may have to escort him on most of these runs? He's my running partner. ;-)

1st half marathon October 4, then continue training for Tri-2B-Tough (3 half marathons in 3 months). Goal for 1st half is sub 2:20. We’ll see how this goes!

Enjoy a great running month everyone!

I never did say that you had to join me on my two-a-days :). That should shave some distance off of there!

As flattering at it sounds, there's nothing to be jealous of.. My body hates me -- so I'm hating it back in return.

Welcome fellow km tracker! I'm not Canadian, but you just don't do engineering/science in US Standard Units. Nerds have been taken out back and stoned for less..

In for October, being in the group was probably the thing that got me successfully through September.

    Goals:

    A) 78km over 13 runs.
    B) to do a park run
    C) to do 5km under 40min
    D) to run 16mins without a walk break (currently on 8mins)

I am going to set my goal at 75 miles - I want to go higher but with the half marathons this month, tapering and recovery I think 75 is reasonable.

This cracked me up! So true, but I do still measure my runs in miles :noway:

First run of the month - 6km down, 94 to go. Now for a shower and work. Good luck for the rest of the month all.#

Since stumbling across this yesterday, I ahve been debating weather to join - and coming up with excuses why October might be to busy, and I should rather wait till November...
Yeah, right, like I won't find any good excuses in that month too!! So count me in for this month

As rather a newbie at running, I'll start with a goal of 50 km. Maybe more next month, who knows?
