Bench: 50

Ugh I used to be up to quite a bit more on all 3, but had my 3rd and 4th babies 10.5 months apart. About two years of inactivity has taken its toll, I've been super annoyed I'm not seeing gains yet. I just recently got back the weight I lost, been trying to get strength and stamina back and it seems to not be easy to recoup!0

So i just started 3x a week last week and I don't have enough weights at home.. currently I'm doing 3 sets of 8 all at 33lbs. (seriously that's all I got right now.. will be buying more weights once hubby gets paid) I have a few Qs I hope I can ask here:
when I'm trying to find the weight to work with should I be able to do all 3 sets of 8 reps at that weight and only really get fatigued on the last couple or should I be getting tired on the first set?
I don't have a bench so I just lie on the floor for my benches.. is this terrible? It seems to be working for now, but like I said, I'm only lifting 33 lbs.
Thanks for any advice.0 -
Returning to regular lifting after 6 months of almost none... I've been doing between 10-12 reps so I'm sure my #s would be higher with 5 reps:
Bench : 55
Squats: 50 (IT band and hips give me a hard time)
DL: 75 lbs (slowly working my way back up over 100)
Now I'm curious... I'll have to try the 5 reps Saturday!!!0 -
I have not one rep max tested in months, but I will be in a few weeks. So here are my current working 3 rep/5 rep maxes:
Bench 3 rep max: 145 (no pause); 130 paused
Squat: 5 rep max 215 (last 1 rep max test was 225 in June)
DL: 5 rep max 265 (last 1 rep max test was 285 in June)
I am a Crossfitter and we train more strict press than bench so yeah, I need work!0 -
Bench 185
Squat 225
DL 305.
retesting Saturday actually- pumped to hit higher numbers- but I'm not holding my breath.
You're awesome and I want to be you. Especially that bench, hoo boy!0 -
Bench: 72
Back squat: 135
Deadlift: 155
I don't have a bench at home so it's difficult to get my bench weight up- I hate lifting at my gym! They sequestered all the heavy weights/free weights into a closed off room to make the machines and dumbells area "less intimidating" for the women. All that has accomplished is that the free weight room is overrun by jacked dudes that don't feel it necessary to put weights back. By the time I drag 200lbs off each bar I want to use, I'm grumpy as heck.0 -
Squat 198
Bench 143
dead 2850 -
Bench- 120
Squat - 200
Deadlift - 220
I sortof hit a wall since last year. I did my first pl competition LAST year..and did about those same numbers so I haven't really gone up at all. Just maintained. . I switched to training for a kb comp and my numbers in PL went down..so I have to remember not to kick myself for not increasing my numbers as much as I wanted to since I changed goals. After my next kb comp this Nov, I am going to refocus and try and get stronger in my barbell lifts. I wish I could serve two master(kb lifting and powerlifting!) but I found I have to have one of those take a backseat and this season it was the barbell lifting.. I'll still do kb lifting because I love it so much, and I like competing in it, but I want to see what happens if I concentrate solely on the barbell and perhaps pick up the bells again 3 months before my next kb comp(in June which means I''ll devote Nov- Marc to just barbell lifting) and see if concentrating on barbell lifts helps my kb lifts.
so many lifts, so little time! And heck, don't get me started on the oly lifts.. UGH! I wish I could do it all!!!0 -
