Death to the Scale Challenge

So it's been A DAY and the scale is sitting in the middle of the kitchen haunting me. I guess it will prevent me from snacking all day long... having to pass by the haunting scale every time. Only 26 days left lets do it ladies0

Got up this morning and I couldnt even think of the scale! Too busy worrying about all the shoveling i had to do (i did count it as a workout though). 5 feet of snow!!!! :sad:0
-
I'm in. I gave my scale to my daughter about a week ago. I did want to weigh for Feb. cause I have a goal of 3-5 pounds a month. But I'm going to give this a try.0

Alright we are off to a good start.
Laughing at the scale thats in the middle of the kitchen. Its trying to double dare ya
Shoveling snow is an awesome burn!0 -

You were already prepared. hmmmm I still have to get my lil bugger in the trunk. :grumble:0 -
This is harder than giving up chocolate for Lent....0

Count me out!!! I use my scale everyday- not to get upset, but to keep better track of where I am. I would rather see that I gained .5 pounds today, than letting it go for a week and gaining 2. If I see a little upward movement in the scale, I know I need to do a better job daily with what I eat. Just my 2 cents.0

i weight myself EVERY day....guess im a "scale *kitten*" BUT IM IN! i just bought a new scale when i joined the site, because my husband lost my other one in the garage!
i think what i'll do is duct tape my scale to the fridge for the month 1) i cant weight myself standing on the fridge door 2) it'll remind me to stay outta the fridge when i "think" i need more to eat!
im excited to see what this will do!
thanks for the great idea..... wish me luck to have the strength to walk away from the scale!
Good luck ALL!0 -
I was removing dirty clothes from the kids bathroom and there underneath the pile was the other scale gazing longingly at me. J looked away and walked out without getting on. It was hard because in the mirror I look thinner.0
-
Taping it to the frig now thats a good 1!
Scale hiding under dirty clothes is a set up!!
:bigsmile:0 -
I did it! I didn't weigh myself last night or this morning! Got to keep going until the 1st of March0

Excellent! Hopefully it will get easier as the days go by.
I did wake up this morning and my mind went to weighing myself. I guess thats because I normally do that after using the bathroom. Breaking the habit will be like a mental cleanse0 -
This is a great idea for people who are just starting or who are "stuck". I'm getting so close now, I think I will continue weighing.0
-
Tomorrow will be my challenge as I usually weigh myself on Fridays to keep myself on track on the weekend and Mondays used to be my official weigh in day.
My boyfriend has always been telling me to ignore the scale and go by how my body looks and feels, he says it always feels good to him....lol
This is really an exercise in willpower and self confidence. We need to put all of our confidence into ourselves and not let a number on the scale dictate who we are or our mood for the day.

You can do it Karen. That scale is the deliverer of emotional havoc. Too many highs and lows. BLAH to the scale!! LOL0 -
Skipped again today. So far so good. Onlly 25 more days to go.0
-
Sometimes those last few pounds are the hardest and the slight fluctuations can drive you crazy. So this is a good idea when you are close.0
-
I've stayed away from the scale so far...it will Sunday and Monday that are my hardest days to overcome as I usually weigh myself then. We can do it!!0
-
I put mine in the linen closet and took out the batteries.
I am definitely a scale *kitten*.
I think it'll be more fun to see a huge drop in weight rather than .2 or .6.
6 -12 will look awesome!0 -
I like the idea of putting it in the closet... AND with the batteries out. My scale sits right outside the shower and it's tempting to get on it right before I step into the shower. I'm going to put it in the linen closet tonight so it will beeeeee.... OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!!!!
Stay strong everyone!!!!!0 -
Ladies we are doing such a great job! For those of you that normally weigh everyday twice a day you deserve a pat on the back. You made it 24 hours without giving in to your desire.
We are taking baby steps to a common goal!!0 -

Thats cool. You can start again today
I have two appts next week but I'm going to get on the scale backwards lol My doctor and Nutritionist think I'm a silly girl already. Wait till they see that lol
I decided to do Zumba for the whole month and no other exercise to see how much I lose. I normally mix it up with the treadmill, weights and work out to dvds or the gaming system. We'll see how good I do March 1st.

Hi, Desirai! As the instigator of the other thread, I went ahead and posted telling people to come over here instead. This is a much more active group already, so I think that will work better all around.
As for anything else, howdy to you all! It's Friday, my normal weigh-in day, and I did NOT weigh. I did think about it while I was taking care of business in the bathroom this morning, though. I thought about it really hard. I even thought about jumping on there and just not admitting it to anyone. How crazy is that?! That scale still needs to be moved out of sight, and this weekend will be the time to do it.
Good luck, everyone!0 -

Ok Ladies. Its the week-end. Are you strong enough to make it through today? Keep focus on March 1st!0
