I've been sick most of the week. My throat is so swollen that I have a hard time eating. Unfortunately, I have been sucking down milkshakes and ice cream to help my throat. I weighed in this morning and didn't lose anything. But I didn't gain anything either. I'll check in again when I am feeling better.
Congrats to everyone with losses!

exercise done and over with. go this afternoon to ratify the contract for sons house. the sellers agreed to his terms. now he will have a place for his friends and girlfriend instead of my house. he lives in a little traval trailer, not much room at all....he is thrilled.

cathy0 -
Good Morning All,
Cathy, good for you getting all your exercise done with so early in the day!!
Shanell, Way to go on your 2pound loss. Keep up the good work!!
Tammy, Popsicles feel good on sore throats and have less calories.Lol.
RR2. Congrats on your 1/2 pound loss
MK, (from last weeks thread) I understand the hunger you feel, I go through similar phases. Getting in all my water does help. I think most are not posting everything they eat, but I'm not sure. It sure looks like most do not get the minimum 1200 calories a day. I post my food plan for the day, but usually not the changes I have made if things don't go as planned. I admit I have become "sloppy" in trying to post faster, so I may leave off that I had spenda brown sugar or nuts added to my oatmeal. And at the end of the day if I'm still hungry, I may add an additional snack.
This week I had a .2 lb gain. At least it wasn't much, but now I will have to really get in gear for losing 10 pounds in the next 5 weeks. I'm not feeling so confident anymore.
Today:
1: raisin bran, skim milk, coffee w/skim milk & sugar free flavor
2: apple
3: homemade chicken enchilada
4: popcorn
5:stir fry veggies w/ grilled chicken breast
6: Not sure yet
Exercise: 1 hour walk/jog
Have a great day everyone!!!!:happy:0 -
Well my week isnt doing so well with the scale. I am up 2 lbs since yesterday but I feel like I am retaining some water. So right now I gained 2 lbs. :explode:  :grumble: This is the first time in almost 2 months that I have not lost any. It really sucks but I will not let it get me down. I had a feeling I was about to hit a platue because I was losing so steadily. After hubby gets home I will go to the gym and workout and then come home and get ready to watch Biggest Loser.
Breakfast 1 pkg quacker lower sugar instant oatmeal.
lunch salad with tuna and light ranch dressing.
dinner not sure yet, I may make a frozen meal for me. hamburger helper for the rest probably
snack fiber one oats and chocolate granola bar.
and of course water water water
Connie0 -
deb....sorry about your "little" gain. i thinking that maybe it could be from the stress you have been under about starting new classes. a new week, a new beginning.
have a good day.
cathy0 -
Ok, so I haven't been able to check into the forums every day and log my foods/measurements. Actually ...I still can't find my dang measuring tape lol. But I've been quickly sticking my eats in my food tracker to make sure I was accountable! I stepped on the scale this AM and I was so estatic!!

Good morning Sexy in Six!
Well, the scale and I didnt see eye to eye this morning. I am up 2 pound but it is the week before "TOM" and I am a water weight gainer! This happened to me last month and it all came off by the next weeks weight in plus 2 extra pounds. So , I am not going to be discouraged about meeting goal at this point.
Nellienell12- congrats on your loss! The next best thing to watching the scale move is having smaller clothes fit!
tlg314-hope you feel better soon!
RunningRatty-.5 since sunday is wonderful.
Amylou- 1.4 is wonderful. Congrats!
Chipper- .2 is still a loss, dont be discouraged! And congrats on the house signing with son. That has to relieve some stress. You guys have been at this a long time now!
Deblaf- I dont know how you do it anyways. You have so much going on with school! I know I couldnt loose under that kind of pressure and you do!
Connieq- I feel your pain this week hun! I am right there with you. I drink extra water so when the retention stops then you loose it all!
eharris- WOW! 4 pounds is AWSOME!
No idea on food or exercise at this point. DH leaves late late tonight to go hunting so I know he will need my help packing. Plus I am class mom today at Pre-k so my exercise time I allow myself is gone today. May need a late night run to the gym. We shall see how packing for DH goes.
I will check back later. I am eager to see how the rest of us faired!
amy:happy:0 -
Good morning. :flowerforyou:
Congrats to those who have lost and those who continue to persevere!
I haven't had time to get on the scales today, but at lunch I am going to run upstairs to our fitness room and see what they have to tell me! I'm hoping to get my weight-loss meter moving. :glasses:
Here's what I have scheduled for the day as far as food goes:
Breakfast: Special K Cereal, cup of 60-cal, sugar-free chocolate jello (mmmm!!)
Snack: I was bad this mornin' . . . we have a HUGE bowl of candy on my desk and I had three Hershey's Mini's
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich on Wheat, Campbell's Select Clam Chowder
Snack: Apple
Dinner: 6" Roasted Chicken Sub on Wheat from Subway (no cheese, no mayo)
Snack: (if needed) Banana & Quaker 90-cal mini delights
This keeps me around the 1400-calorie range, which is what the food thing says on here, but sometimes it feels like I'm eating too much.
As far as exercise goes, I am thinking about either hitting our fitness room for an hour after work or going to the mall and power walking. This will probably sound silly, but while I was doing laundry the other day and waiting for the water to fill the machine, I was pushing up onto my toes and working my calves. Then, I would do pushups against the machine. And, last night, I did the same thing in our bathroom after brushing my teeth. I also turned with my back facing the sink, put my hands on the counter behind me and did some dips. Boy, I am sore today!! I guess every little bit helps. Even if I did feel silly, hehe. I can feel the soreness all the way up the back of my legs. I love it!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!!!!!0 -
eharris...WOW:noway: super loss
sorry connie and pdx for your gains. pdx yea, repeat of last month isn't it?
icorrell hope the scale is good to you. yes, every little bit helps.
shanell get back to work
almost lunch time. i am hungry today. time to get trash can.
cathy0 -
Congrats eHarris! Those who gained, I'm with you. I gained .1, but I've only been doing this for one day and i had a PMS attack last night and downed an Oreo Blizzard in record time. I tried to run if off, but the thing had 550 calories in it, apparently i didn't run long enough.
Just makes me more determined to do better this week! at the end of this week we will be 33% of the way to sexy!! lets go ladies!!!!
P.S. please help me name my horse (shes in my pic.) i just got her this weekend, shes 5 years old and just a little teddy bear, follows me around like a puppy dog and just wants to be loved on! almost all black, and has a really pretty, elegant face.... i was thinking Aubrey, or Dixie, or Winona, or Phoebe.....not so crazy about any of em.....PLEASE HELP!0 -
Hey ladies. Well...this has been a LONG and HARD weekend. I made HORRIBLE food decisions, drank hardly any water, did NO exercise, and am now feeling MISERABLE!
But...it's the start to a new week and I am going to do FABULOUS!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: Not weighing in today, I decided. I can't even get my rings off which means I'm retaining water like CRAZY (they are usually very loose). So...if my body feels more normal by tomorrow or Thursday, I'll weigh in then, otherwise I will just wait until next week. This week will be a good one...it HAS to. I am running in Race for the Cure on Saturday (my first 5K ever!) and so need to step it up! So, here is the meal plan for today:
B-Blueberry single oatmeal, 1 med. apple, 8 oz. PlumSmart Light juice, 1 multivitamin.
S-Kashi TLC cereal bar, 2 c. coffee, 2 tbsp. sugar-free creamer.
L-Turkey and Cheese sandwich, 14 baby carrots, AE YoLite yogurt, Coke Zero.
S-1 med. apple, Kashi TLC granola bar.
D-1/2 left-over chicken fajita wrap from AppleBees and a green salad.
S-??? Depends on remaining calories.
Exercise--45 minute Step class, 15 minute Ab workout.
So...today will be good...I can FEEL it!!!! Congrats to everyone who has lost this week:drinker: , and to those who haven't...no worries...your results WILL come!!!:flowerforyou: Have a FABULOUS rest of the morning ladies!!!!0 -
Great job with the losses for those of you that have them..and those who gained or stayed the same..dont worry about it, maybe Tuesdays just arent your good weigh days! (I find on Wednesdays I am usually 1lb lighter than when I check in on Tuesdays...)
Keep up the good work everyone!!!
This week I am down 2lbs to check in at 196lbs. 10lbs left to go in the next 5 weeks...!
Okay, for those who are eating alot and not feeling full..try eating more protein, more fiber, drink more water and consume less processed foods and more fresh foods (veggies, fruits).
And when you look at peoples foods and think they are not eating alot, look at what kinds of foods they are.. I know myself I eat alot of protein and fiber and drink TONS of water during the day and I dont starve myself, I eat. Most of the time I finish under 1,000 calories a day- even on exercise days. I just eat food that is more nurtritionally dense so my body is fuller, longer. I usually have 3 meals a day and 2 snacks (sometimes 3). Also, fruits and veggies are not very calorie dense- take a typical snack for me- 10 strawberries, pack of baby carrots and a fiber one bar or kashi bar- that is not even 200 cals for all that food- and it is filling and healthy.
When I get a fix for junk food, I try to make healthy choices- ice cream- I have skinny dipper ice cream bars 80 cals each and very yummy...craving some chips - 100 cal pack doritos or 1 serving of fat free pringles 70 cals...chocolate..I keep a dark chocolate bar or kisses and I will eat 1-3 squares or 2-3 kisses VERY SLOWLY so I can enjoy the taste and indulge my craving..
Its all about wiser choices and being aware of what you are putting in your body...just because you stay under 1,400 cals a day doesnt mean you should be losing weight...you need to look at WHAT those 1,400 calories consist of.
Okay, rant over Just a soapbox issue of mine lol
Anyway...
Foodwise today- bfast- egg white and FF shredded cheddar burrito wrap and fiber one cereal and 2% milk./snack- high protein cereal bar and banana- lunch- protein shake(forgot to pack more lunch)- snack: proly fiber water mix, kashi bar/ dinner- Not sure yet soup and sandwich maybe
Exercise today...At school now, about to go change and walk/jog on the track for 20-30 min then go to gym and do core exercises and then elliptical for 20 or so min then maybe a few more core exercises..Later on may go to gym close to my house and do my weight training for my PT.
Hope everyone has a GREAT day

Nice work Katy!!!! Keep it up!:drinker:0
-
Tammi- I hope you're feeling better soon, lots of fluids!
MK- I agree with you that some of foods people put down don't seem like much. Then again, I sometimes have trouble hitting my calories for the day, I'm so used to eating less. Maybe that's why I'm losing more now, my body has more to work with, and isn't hanging on to the fat for survival.
pdx- Hunting widows unite! They haven't been here for the last couple of years, but the Chippendale's used to come and do a show the first or second weekend of hunting season.
Icorrell- Yeah to moving more! It reminds me of this radio comercial for Step Up Michigan ("eat less, move more") where the guy is doing squats while waiting for the copier to finish.
Kistin- I feel ya on those rings, although mine isn't water retention. I haven't been able to put my wedding ring on for close to 6 months.
Holy Moley! I looked back at what I posted as my starting weight last week.... 201.5. And today... 198! That's 3.5 pounds down this week! I never figured I'd lose that much, I'm usually a pound a week kind of girl....0 -
I have a question . . . I've been reading everyone's posts and seeing what they're eating, etc. I think I do pretty well with my food choices, bar today when I had some Hershey's Mini's @ work and am going to have clam chowder at lunch (it's 98% FF, and the cal's aren't too bad, so I guess it'll be alright), but . . . the calorie-counter on here says I should get around 1400 cal's per day and it seems like every other meal schedule I've read on here is soooo much less than that! Why is that? lol, I know I could easily eat 1000-1200 calories and be alright, but, should I?0
-
Good morning everyone!
Week 1: 181
Week 2: 178.4lbs ... 2.6 lb loss!
Goal weight: 169lbs (unofficial)
Lbs to go: 9.4
Yahoo! So my weigh-in was from the day before yesterday because 2 days in a row I've had healthy but high sodium foods and I hold water like a camel when I eat a high sodium item. I, like Kristin, can feel it in my body today so I'm not doing another check in today. I know the loss was steady and warranted throughout the first week and that's what I'll take! Katy, I also find that Wednesdays are a lower weight day for me. So, my first week makes me hopeful that I'll be able to meet my unofficial goal of 169 (unofficial because it's more than 20% of my remaining) and possibly even get back to my target of 168 by Nov 24th.
Congrats to all the losses today and for those who saw a gain or stayed the same, it's a new week! Kick butt!! :flowerforyou:
I have to turn 3 shopping bags full of apples into apple sauce today. :noway: Picked them at my in-laws the other day. I'm making apple butter
Have a great Tuesday everyone!0 -

I eat every 2-3 hours and I've set my calories at 1400 because the 1200 MFP assigned was too low. I agree that it looks like some people on here eat a heck of a lot less than that but I know my meal plans aren't included there. Yes you should be eating those calories. Hunger isn't ALWAYS the best indicator. If you're not losing or if you're gaining on 1400 then switch it up and see what happens, but the changes of you requiring FEWER calories is not as likely as requiring MORE. 1200 is the approximate minimum for any adult female. Most need more. HTH!0 -

HEHE THANKS GIRL!! Nice job on your 2.6 pounds...ROOOOCKSTAR!!!!
Oh and guess what! HEHEHEHE!!! My hubby is FINALLY on board with losing weight! I love my husband, and he loves me very much!! I am saying that because we have both TOTALLY let ourselves go.
Weight when we met:
Cassidy 148lbs
Shane 190lbs
Weight 3.5 years later!
Cassidy (highest) 193lbs----today!! 188lbs
Shane....................................................257lbs!
He calls himself a "big fat guy"...and I know he is very self conscious. He wants to lose 16 pounds by Thanksgiving. I totally know he can do it if he just drinks more water and watches his portion sizes. So I think it will be easier for me to stick to the plan since he is going to be in it with me! He even wants to try some of my workout videos...he thinks Turbo Jam and Shred look fun!! LOL0 -
bumpity
will post later with my weekly results:bigsmile:
3pm meeting....:indifferent:0
