Where is the coolest place you have ever been?

Jamaica was great too. Lots of locals selling the ganja0

I was born in a beautiful place. Dominica.0

I agree with Istanbul. I went there on a company trip - I never would have thought to pick it as a vacation spot. Amazing, and I would totally go back again.0

I've traveled to so many places, it would be difficult to identify the "coolest"...everywhere I've been has been "cool" in it's own right. I'm getting on a plane tomorrow morning in fact, and heading to San Diego for a week in So-Cal and very much looking forward to it.
One of my best trips ever was to Britain where my wife and I spent two weeks road tripping from London to the Scottish highlands. We saw a lot on that trip and had a blast. Edinburgh is particularly awesome. My wife's extended family all live in Britain so we always have a reason to visit.
Some of my best vacations have been in Roatan, Honduras and Caye Caulker Belize...amazing scuba diving in both. My wife and I used to frequent Roatan annually there for awhile, but haven't been back since things kind of fell apart on the mainland. Sint Maarten is also awesome, particularly for the beaches...but the scuba was just ok.
I'm also a National Park junkie...Yellowstone has to top the list for me...Grand Canyon is spectacular as well...so are Canyon Lands and Arches in Utah...and pretty much every other National Park.

Negril i very nice, I was in Ocho Rios!0 -
The Galapagos Islands were the most amazing places I've been. Being so close to so much unique wildlife was like being on another planet.
Second choice would be Cambodia. Beautiful country, lovely people and fabulous temples.0 -
Come to Sunny San Diego, never any bad weather, lots to see, lots to do!0

I love Firenze (Florencia), Italy... it was so beautiful, old and full of history and art.0

Puerto Rico! I almost forgot because I went when I was like 10 but it was so beautiful and Old San Juan had such a unique and interesting feel to it. It also gets extra points because well, I'm puerto rican so0

In response to people suggesting Toronto, I would highly recommend Quebec City. It's very small for a city and the Old City is very close to the original fortress built way, way, way back in the day. It's the only city left in North America that has its original fortress walls.
Then, if you want some wilderness, as soon as you leave the city (less than 30 minute drive from the very centre of the city) there's nothing but rolling old mountains and small villages for a solid 2 hour drive, if you drive further inland, where you'll hit Montreal. If you choose to drive north, make sure you fill up your tank before you leave and bring a little extra because civilization is few and far between.0 -
I live in MT, and I do have to say we have some very breath-taking views in the mountains. The next best place was Mt. Fuji in Japan...but I have to confess it felt like I was back home, so that might be why I liked it so much.0

Coolest man made place has been walking outside the CN tower in Toronto in a harness.
Nature wise it's Canyonlands near Moab, nature at it's finest!!
Honorable mention to Whistler, BC and mountain biking down it!0 -
I've been to a lot of cool places, but I'd say Frasier Island, Australia was the coolest.0

@chivalryder - my only complaint is that when I was there the city seemed to shut down at 6pm. Malls closed early, it was a ghost town.0 -
Hawaii - Oahu, Maui, and Kawaii0

Bruges, Belgium0

Floated through the Suez Canal. Width of the flight deck was wider than the canal so when we looked over the side it appeared as though we were moving on land.0

Love love love Venice, Italy, want to go back0

I really enjoyed the Grand Canyon, very awe inspiring. The same trip we went to Colorado and that was really cool too, and that was before weed was legalized.
The mountains were pretty and we spent a lot of time exploring cliff dwellings.
But by far the prettiest place I've ever been was up and down the coast of Oregon. Would LOVE to go back one day.0
