I actually have about 47lbs or so to lose still yet. I'm a stay-at-home mom of 2 wonderful little boys (2yrs and 4 months). I had to have a c-section with both and that really makes me nervous about what my stomach is going to look like when this is all said and done.
Lowest Adult Weight: 130lbs (2009/2010)
Highest Weight: 260lbs (Jan 2012...6 weeks after my first was born)
Weight when I first started MFP: 218lbs (March 2013)
Lowest Weight Since 2012: 170lbs (September 2013)
41 wks pregnant with baby boy #2: 212lbs (May 27, 2014...2 days before csection)
Weight as of yesterday: 175.8lbs

That could prove to be a real challenge. I do a circuit dvd 2x a week that is 1hr 20 mins long and my hrm gives me an approx burn of 650. Of that burn I only log about 400 calories (I don't trust my hrm). That's the highest calorie burn I get out of all my workouts through out the week. All my workouts are about 1hr in length.
Why not just eat at a deficit of 500 calories everyday?
It should be a bit easier, than trying to build the deficit with daily exercise.
Not that there is anything wrong with daily exercise, but trying to burn off 700 calories a day seems a bit excessive. Personally, I exercise for health benefits and for looks. I eat at a calorie deficit to lose weight.

I'm a new mom of a 3 1/2 month old. I've lost around 33 lbs since giving birth, but still have 15-20 more to go. Any of you are free to add me, I'm on here every day.0
-
I'm with you! I've got a 5 month old and 40lbs to lose. I also have a 3 year old and a 5 year old. I lost weight after the older ones, was nice and slim and fit, got pregnant and most of it came back on, and I exercised until 38 weeks pregnant and logged every day. Sob sob.
Anyway, I've been back at the gym since my baby girl was 6.5 weeks old. I do PT sessions, spinning, aerobics, step, boxercise etc and I walk loads with my kids.
I'm not a stay at home mum, but I am on maternity leave...we get a year in England.0 -

Um? Title-less mommy with 3 year old, lol. I've got another 60 to go, I think.0
-
well my kids are 17 and 19 but I want to lose about 60! I had lost 47 and kept it off for a year! Just started a 90 day challenge and have lost 7lbs in two weeks! loving it. I need to measure because my clothes are saying more than 7lbs!!!! I would love to have some interaction on here.0
-
I was thinking of 700 calorie deficit total.. While doing 400 by exercise and 300 by eating smartly. So by the end of 5 days we she b able to lose 1 lb.0

My workout program is currently (and for the next 4 weeks till it changes up):
Circuit
Legs
Arms
Circuit
Chest/Back
Core
Yoga
Obviously the circuit is going to burn the most, since it's the only cardio. It however does take at least an hour to get my hrm to report a 500 calorie burn at my current weight/VO2Max, takes roughly an hour. When I was heavier, I could reach that number much faster.
That being said, last year I was only working out anywhere from 20-45 mins at a time.
Looking back at my logs from last year,
(April/May)
22 mins of EA Sports Active - I logged: 100 to 150 calories
20 mins of Dance Central - I logged : up to 200 calories
These were both activities I logged frequently when I was over 200lbs.
By August (173-181lbs)
30 mins of Dance Central - I logged: up to 200 (most of the time under 200)
By September (173-167lbs)
48 mins of Dance Central - I logged: 280
1hr 15mins of Dance Central - 431
Estimated by the Zombies,Run!5k Training app:
36 mins of walk/run drills burned approx 231 calories (end of August)
The lower my weight gets, it seems the harder it is to burn a large number of calories without extending workouts.

That being said, you can still see results with 20 min workout sessions. The only reason mine are an hour this year is because while I was pregnant I bought this workout DVD set. I didn't know at the time the workouts were so long.
I've only been able to make it fully through the circuit DVD 3 times (the most recent 3) out of the 8 times it's come up during the program.
You might want to try a workout like 30 Day Shred (can be found on youtube). Also, taking walks with your little one will help (either using a stroller or a carrier).0 -
It's going to be very cold here In a month so even walks are not an option:( .. I see u have lost weight before, so can u suggest which DVDs I should buy? For me, it's the first time.. I was 130 lbs a year back bar I got pregnant...0
-
I have heard about these YouTube videos 'walk at home' ... I'm thinking of starting with them.. Not sure how much stamina I have for workout0

Last year my workouts were mostly video games (wii & kinect) and youtube videos. This is the first time I'm trying DVD workouts.
Currently, I'm using X-TrainFit at Home. However the time ranges from 26 mins to 80 mins (the shortest just being a stretch DVD). Then to make things even more difficult, the last 3 weeks of the program the trainer wants you to do 2 workouts on some of the days. So if you don't have a lot of time, I wouldn't recommend it.
I have Rockin Body, but I haven't done the program yet. It looks like it will be fun. I have tried the workout where Shaun T goes over the basic moves that will be used throughout the rest of workouts. If I remember correctly it was pretty fun (and not a bad workout either). The workouts range from 10-45 mins. If you follow the program, he doubles up some of the workouts on some days. I think the longest day is like 75 mins, but since it's a 30 min workout and a 45 min workout you could probably split it up.
I want to try ChaLEAN Extreme eventually. First however I plan to at least complete the two programs I bought while I was pregnant. With the X-TrainFit, I'm currently on Day 2 of Week 6 (almost half way done). Rockin' Body is only set up to be a 4 week program, so I'll finish that one a bit quicker.

if you're looking for stuff to do at home, look up bodyrock. Theyre 7 to 12 minute HIIT kick you butt workouts that use mostly your bodyweight. They use some equipment but if you look on their website they offer alternatives to the equipment they use.0

Hmm... Thanks for the ideas0

Dancing can be a great workout. I haven't used a video program yet, but I did do the dancing video games last year for cardio.
Anyway, I did do a search of the success forums for some of the Dance DVD's I'm aware of:
Hip Hop Ab's
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1257322/beachbody-hip-hop-abs-results-5-7-pear-girl
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/785218/before-n-after-hip-hop-abs-w-pics
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/951854/picture-results-for-30-days-hip-hop-abs-shakeology
Rockin Body is mentioned quite a bit, but I can't seem to find any progress pictures where the person followed the program. A lot of people seem to use it as a cardio along with workouts that are more strength based.
Zumba is mentioned a lot as well, but it's hard to say if the person is talking about the classes or the DVD's or the video games. Although, I'm not sure if it really makes a difference.0 -
