I mean lets just tax anyone over 1 million dollars at 90%. No one needs that much money.

Even the president agrees with me

It would create a level playing field for everyone. The rich need to pay their fair share.

I don't know about the USA, but in Canada, the top 2% of the wealthiest people (I believe it's those who make over $180k/year) account for about 80% of the total income tax the federal government brings in.

So yeah, I don't complain about the wealthy. Most of the people who have the money earned it, and they pay the highest amount of taxes.

Will Obama and the Senate be included in this tax? Or will they yet again determine themselves to be too important to have to be subjected to the same burdens as every other American citizen?

The rich already pay far more than their fair share, and this is coming from a guy who most certainly is not rich. If you really want to level the playing field, everyone should pay the same tax rate instead of penalizing success and subsidizing failure and laziness.

Better question, how to people who work a small part of the year get back thousands of dollars in tax returns?? Those of us in the middle are lucky to get anything at all...

Amen. My dad is a perfect example of someone coming from nothing who worked their way up, even without a college degree. His tax rate is insane.

Why would anyone want to work their way up to a better life if you just punish them for it?

I have dependents too and we are taxed closer to 30% than 14...

Honestly though, the rich really don't pay near as much as even the upper middle class does... thanks to tax shelters and tax benefits for things like giving to charities and the like... and honestly, Sweden is one of the happiest countries on earth and the rich pay at least 50% of the taxes, no exemptions.

It's all about the tax brackets. To be at 14% with dependents, you would be grossing less than 30k a year.
