There were 27 people at my line dance class this morning including 3 family members from out of town who came with regular students. The class is usually close to 40 so this was a pretty good turnout for the day after a holiday.
We have rain today and the promise of dropping temperatures until it gets below freezing for the weekend...nothing like what so many of you in the central and eastern parts of North America are experiencing.
we don't buy gifts for Christmas but we shopped online today for new landline phones for ourselves.

Hello ladies. Slept until 10:45 this morning. Boy did I need it. But Michelle and boyfriend was going to be here at 11 for lunch so oldest daughter and I worked on getting everything out of frig and start microwaving. A pan of sweet potatoes that has been put in the oven for reheating is not easy to clean. Between yesterday and today the dishwasher was run 3 times. But the whole gang is all gone now, floors cleaned again. Counters are back to being just counters. I did OK today at lunch. Not good but OK. There were 3 pieces of pie left over from yesterday, and the pies were Walmarts small pies. I really don't care for pumpkin and apple has to be really special. But I have never met a piece of pecan pie that I haven't liked so I had s very small piece of that with a tad bit of cool whip. Other than that it was small turkey sandwich, carrots and an apple. Our family was it's usual goofy self today and no tension, no politics and we had a great time and a good day to have Duran to meet more of the family.
I love Mariahs strength. I think how children react to the rigors of cancer therapy our truly miracles. Of course the wonderful families and hospital staff are part of that.
My house is to quiet now. Joyce, Indiana0 -
Saturday and meant to walk doggy yesterday afternoon but fell asleep and step only 7476
On 6th day of Jeannette's 15 week challenge and LOVE it. Today was cardio dance before breakfast, Circuit B (back, Bis and legs) after breakfast, plus 1 hour walk after lunch (better do it)
Another lovely day here.

Good wishes to all of you who have survived the holidays and the shopping frenzy! On the news was a violent altercation at a supermarket in London as several people tried to grab the same TV. The police had to be called!
We have just got back from London and seeing the grandchildren. Heavenly, as always, but I ended up eating too much. I now reckon I have a 1, 000 deficit in all to get rid of from all my socialising. It won't be tomorrow as it's my brother's anniversary do in an Italian restaurant! We haven't got a lot planned after that, apart from suffering the bedroom renovations, so that will be the time to be super disciplined.
The grandchildren were in fine form and DGS spent the whole time building houses out of table mats with DH. He was Batman for the day. DGD. was her adorable self and we did some gender de-stereotyping by playing with a carpentry set. She is good with a screwdriver! ! ! What joy they find in everyday life.
Makes me realise how lucky we are when I read about Mariah. What a great kid she is with such a lot of spirit! (*)
We had our "feast" on the way home on the train. At least I am keeping a count of calories.
DSIL rang me to thank me for her birthday present. It's so nice that she has come out of her depression and we are back in regular contact. I am looking forward to seeing my family tomorrow. There should be about 20 of us.
Love to all. I willl post a photo of my lovely grandchildren.

Good evening everyone! It was a nice day here today. Warmer temps and lots of sunshine. I spent most of the day at the studio making soap dishes and tea bag dishes. Those are always good sellers because they are small and cheap and make good stocking stuffers. I had some customers come in and buy stuff today too. That doesn't happen very often.
I was really constipated for several days so I ate a few prunes and had chili for lunch and now I feel a little sick. Things are happening. Not all good, though. I know, too much information.
It was so nice to see Mariah! Thanks J.B.! She's so adorable in her new jammies. I hope she feels better soon.
Meg, so nice to hear from you, too. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving.
Heather, your DGC are so sweet! Such beautiful smiles!
Barbie, we don't buy gifts for each other either. Our anniversary is New Year's Eve, so most years we get a piece of furniture or something like that, something for the house.
Well, time to warm up the turkey. Good night everyone!

Just looked on Facebook - it seems DH'S family have just set off to the Philippines to get the child back. The nephew is calling it Operation Ninja. Discretion would seem a better idea. :ohwell:0

Didn't get to ride to work, it was raining too hard, no more calories burned. ;0(0

Michele: Rant away. Sending hugs. :flowerforyou:
Sylvia: I’m happy that your DH is warming to Spot. It seems that a good bath is magical. Today’s joke sounds like it could b a true story. :flowerforyou:
DeeDee: Thanks for the good wishes. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. :flowerforyou:
Juanita: Maybe if we celebrated Thanksgiving in October we wouldn’t’ be plagued with Black Friday sales. :flowerforyou:
Meg: I count you and all my Women 50+ friends as blessings, too. :flowerforyou:
JB: Thanks for the update on Mariah. She and her family are among the bravest people I’ve known about. I love the picture of Mariah in her new jammies. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. What a wonderful picture of the little ones! My bread rising basket has arrived! I'll be trying a loaf again soon, maybe plain sourdough this time. :flowerforyou:
DS and DDiL were here for Thanksgiving, and his best friend from childhood came today with his family for a brunch get together. I enjoy this family so much. I’m happy they came & I got to spend some time with them. DH was away at this 2nd physical therapy treatment and is now sleeping if off. The therapist made him work hard. I love that woman. I am looking forward to my horseback-riding lesson in an hour. Yay! More family is coming tomorrow. DSIL and DBIL will be here with their youngest daughter. Our niece is in her forties, and left her husband this year and moved into an apartment of her own. I look forward to seeing all of them.

Home now from visiting my parents in the Cleveland area. I was glad to see my parents, but my parents took us out for Thanksgiving dinner ... and the only word I can use to describe it is atrocious. Dinner was served family style, but I think everything was processed/packaged! The turkey was "soft" ... if you know what I mean ... and laden with salt and gravy. The potatoes were definitely instant! It all tasted like cafeteria food and it was an expensive Italian restaurant! Now my folks didn't notice anything being wrong because everything they eat comes out of a can or the freezer section. But my DH and sons have been on this migraine trigger diet for awhile now and have been eating relatively "clean" ... our taste buds were in shock! So far son doesn't have a migraine ...
Tomorrow I'm making a fresh turkey I have in the fridge ... it was my standby bird if the weather derailed our travels ... so we'll see how my guys like a more unprocessed dinner. I have to say it was nice to see that the processed stuff was unpalatable to them ... kind of validates my recent cooking efforts.
Plan to put up one of our trees this weekend... the artificial one in our living room. We'll put up a live tree in the family room next week. Then I'll think about baking and shopping.
Have a good weekend!

You're all so sweet
Here's another pic from last week, Mariah with her cousin, baby Jaxson, who she'd just met for the first time. Looks like they're very happy together!

Hola Amigas!
There are 365 messages since the last time I visited this community, so I will be busy this weekend trying to catch up. I'm back from a glorious vacation in Panama. Visited family, made new friends and enjoyed the natural beauty of the oceans and cloud forests. Fortunately, I stayed active enough to mitigate any negative impact from overindulging with food. No gain! Yaaaaaaay!
Today it was back to the gym, lots of water and clean eating. Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.
Stay well.

Adore the black dog. I have sent a copy of him to my son who calls himself blackdogcoach, a coach with depression. (Triathlon coach) He adores dogs, especially black ones.0

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. We take it as a four day weekend and spend time with family and friends. Unfortunately, the retail world has turned it into the biggest shopping day of the season. That means a lot of workers do not get to spend time with their families.0 -
BUT, it hasn't affected some of us... it doesn't mean and never has meant anything to me. black friday is just friday to me

Happy Saturday everyone! Thanksgiving day is over, but I am still so very thankful for all of you! Wishing you all much health and happiness!
Jb: I’m so sorry to hear about Mariah. She is so beautiful! I’ll bet that she is the apple of your eye! Mariah & Jaxson are precious! It must be so difficult for all of you to watch that precious little girl go through so much. Prayers going out to her and to all of you
Heather: The grandchildren are precious!
Piccd34: Beautiful dog!
Anamika from Mumbai: How do I explain Black Friday? It’s like shopping on steroids! There are tons of ads that you have to go through, but some of them come up at the last minute. Most of the time, there’s a really good deal that you want at one store and then you have to try to figure out how you’re going to get to the next store that has something you want before it’s all sold out. I’m so glad that now you can shop online as well. I was able to get a FitBit flex for my DH & I for Christmas for $69.99. I got free shipping, so that in itself was a savings of $60. Most of my shopping was done on Thanksgiving online, but unfortunately we had to pick up one item at Bed Bath and Beyond that we had put for store pickup. Online, it was 29.99. In store, it was 19.99, but I had a $5 coupon so it ended up costing me $14.99. It just takes so much time and it’s really frustrating because the stores are FULL of people trying to get that special thing that someone on their list wants. A few years ago, my DH and I were standing in lines at midnight for a couple of hours. Now the stores are starting Black Friday on Thanksgiving! I would love to just not shop Black Friday, but I have 4 children, 3 have spouses, 7 grandchildren, DH’s parents (mine are deceased) that we have to buy for. Plus this year one of my DD#3’s friends moved here from another state. She and her family were living with us at the same time my DD#3 was with her family. (We had 12 people living in my 1500 sq ft house at that time…but that’s a whole other story! ) They are struggling as well, so we are buying a present for them and their children as well. It gets to be very expensive if we don’t try to get the best deal we can. I used to totally enjoy Christmas…now, not so much! I keep telling my children that when my DH and I retire in a few years, Christmas gifting will definitely be downgraded. I seriously wouldn’t buy so much, but honestly with the exception of my DS who is a dentist and his wife my DDIL who is a veterinarian all the others are struggling financially so I have a tendency to overdo it by purchasing more than one gift because it’s things that they need. Ok, enough rant! Sorry! Black Friday is a zoo. I’m glad the merchants offer deep discounts on some items, but Heaven help me, I am so glad when Christmas shopping is done!
Off to clean house! DH and I are trying to pack up the stuff the DD#3 & her family left from when they bought their home and moved out! She's in school and getting ready to go into finals and doesn't have the time to help. DSIL, her hubby, is offshore working. He came in for all of one day and was sent out again. At least he has a job! Thank you Heavenly Father! My house looks like something from hoarders! Ugh! I could use a few prayers!
Hugs to all! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Ladies!
Happy holidays! I just popped in to say hello and wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. I enjoyed all the great pictures! Black Friday is the day I stay home and do not go near a mall. I survived Thanksgiving at DSIL where there were few healthy dishes. That aren't big on salads and veggies. I am still maintaining my weight loss as well.
Here is a pic of our little Brian. He is a wonderful little addition to our family!
Best wishes to all of you!

Love the photos .... I am a sucker for Black Lab puppies! Our lab, Zeke, is almost 10 years old and is "recuperating" from his 48 hours in the kennel and a basic grooming ... poor baby ...0

Good morning. I suppose it's good, anyway. My mood is a little bad today. I have a multitude of little issues to deal with this morning, but I'm sure it will all pass. Someday. My weight is up almost 2 pounds from Thanksgiving, even though I tried really hard not to let it. My nose has been bleeding on and off all morning. We went swimming laps and the pool was packed with over-achievers. I really don't like swimming in choppy seas. I have hemmeroids. BAD. It hurts to walk, sit, stand, cough, laugh, poop or pass gas. And my poor fingers are cracked so bad that it hurts to type. And to top it all off I've lost my credit card when I need to be Christmas shopping. (I suspected that hubby hid it, but he swears he didn't.) So, I've been retracing my steps for the last few days trying to figure out where I might have misplaced it. Boo hoo, poor me.
Enough of that. It's supposed to be a beautiful day here, in the upper 60's, but tomorrow only a high of 30! This is nuts. I just hope we don't get snow or ice. By the way, has Buffalo recovered yet, or will it be springtime before you can get out again?
I think my favorite thing about the upgrade to MFP is the ability to see pictures. I'm loving all the photos of kids and dogs!!!
I do not do black Friday shopping at all. No price is so good that I would risk getting into that frenzy to get it.
I came to the studio this morning with money to make change, because it's Small Business Saturday, but nobody has come in. Last year I got a few shoppers. Oh well. It gave me incentive to straighten up the gallery a little bit. I'm afraid I'm not terribly neat so things were a little dusty. Now it looks much better.
Well, I'm going to crawl back into my hole of self pity. I hope you all have a wonderful day where you are.

Hi, all,
Quiet day yesterday. Tried to watch the Va/Va Tech game last night but went to bed at 10pm. Finally put the flannel sheets on yesterday and they really felt great last night!!! Made it to both tai chi and yoga this am. Very cold, couldn't even break the ice early this am on the birdbath with my usual stick, had to get a garden tool---it was about a half inch thick!!! 28 degrees when I reached the gym at 8am. LOL, DD had morning feed duty for the horses at the show barn for 6am. She called about an hour ago to let me know she had gotten off whatever horse she was riding and was heading to the city library down there to get warm before heading back to the barn for 4pm.
Heather.........OOOHHHH......they just get cuter and cuter!!!!
jb.......Thanks so much for providing the update and adorable pics for everyone; we are all pulling for Mariah!
piped34..........Very handsome fellow!
Cindy.......Your Brian looks so alert and smart!!
Sylvia..........Hope you day improves in a BIG way!!!
Someone here likes herons???? Got caught up on newspapers and there was a pic of a blue one with two little fish in its bill (beak??).....whatever. Anyway, it was a really neat pic.
Stay strong, ladies!
