Hey there. I started January 1 and I had 125 to lose - so far I am down 15! Some of the things I have found that have helped me are: no eating after 8pm, workout first thing in the morning before work. I keep busy to make myself think about other things so as to not obsess about food like I always have in he past.

    Best of luck to you!

I've been close to the 100-pound mark. Trying to get back there again!
  • I need to lose A LOT of weight as I am so fat this it actually depresses me. Also I am an acting student and we have a big show coming up and I don't want to look like an elephant on stage. I need all the help I can get :)
  • I've been eating healthy for like three days and just worked out today after months of being inactive! I've been struggling with my weight for years, started and stopped many times. But I've decided to start again this time for the rest of my life. For my health, happiness and wellbeing. I'm very supportive if you guys want to add me :)

I'm back at it after 2 years of gaining back the 80lbs I'd lost. I have over 120 to lose which is so depressing, but I know meeting here every day is what motivated me last time. I look forward to getting to know all of you. Add me as a friend if you'd like.

Hello! I have a goal to lose about 125 lbs and would love to have a group of friends to chat with and learn. I had lost about 75 lbs from my heaviest but found about 20 - 25 of if again. So now I'm trying to get better at maintaining a food journal. I've never had the discipline but so far this year I'm showing some progress.

So if anyone would like to chat and share some successes or failures, look me up!

Quick step to weight loss. Do not drink anything 15 minutes prior to eating, during the meal, 30 minutes after. Keeps you fuller longer. Not sure what diet you are on, but exercise at least 20 minutes every day. No excuse. Add me if you would like.

That sounds like my journey. I loose but seem to never maintain. Its not that I can't. Its more like I forget how hard it was to get it off. :s
  • I started January 6th and I've got about 130 pounds to lose. I've been trying to eat clean and exercise every day. I would welcome any friends, support and encouragment. I also have type II Diabetes and would be very grateful if anyone has suggestions for working out while controling blood sugars. I wish everyone all the best on their journey.

Just set up an account here after deciding to keep a food journal, I set myself a goal Of getting healthy around 6-8 months ago. I started by cutting out the stuff we know is crap and eating fruit/veg and protein more (salmon, chicken, steak ect) and I lost 2 stone.
It's the new year and back to it with so much more to do, has anyone else started to look forward to working out?
    Add me :)

First off welcome to anyone new here! I hope you all choose this thread and come back daily so we can build a support system that really motivates us through this challenge. 4 years ago I was part of a group that helped me navigate through 80lbs and I’m hoping to find that again. Please friend me and come back and share your successes and challenges (or just a to chat). There is power in numbers!!

@Bat100 – keep that food journal going. The MFP diary is such a great tool. Have you tried out the barcode scanner?

@skinny652 – I hope you are going to keep posting to this thread. We can all support each other.

@mommazach – I’ve never heard of not drinking anything 15 minutes before eating? I usually drink a large glass of water to help me eat less since it makes me feel full. Hmmm maybe I will try this. Thanks

@winniway – congrats on the 10lbs down!! Keep it going girl!!!

@crzycowgrl23 – I hope you like the app. You can go to myfitnesspal.com also. It’s a lot easier accessing many of the great features here from your PC but the smartphone app is handy when you’re out and about.

@preachergirl09 – I’ll be looking for your post. We are like MFP twins. Same story. I’ve been mad at myself for 2 years about gaining the weight back. It’s time we took charge again!!!

So far my day is going fine. My meals are planned for the day so I’m feeling good about things. If possible I will get out for a good walk at noon and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, which we have not had here in Maine for way too long!! I’m drinking tons of water and will not be falling off this wagon today. TODAY is all I can worry about. Take it one day at a time ladies. We got this.

    Keep it skinny
    ReNae

  • I take it one day at the time too....so glad to know u..hope we can encourage each other..if I can just get back to where I was b4 I gained it all back I'll be ecstatic....blessings girl! Nancy
