Haha. i love those doctor's orders. Definitely make it something delicious and get it in! Good luck with the injections, sounds like he's been repeating the only walking comment which means he must have your number! It's only two weeks in the scheme of things so relax, follow the recommendations, and enjoy that post-pizza!
Eye specialist?! Oh, boy. No, it doesn't end. Lol. Do you have eye issues? I wear contacts/glasses but Dan's eyes are 20/20 so I pray that gene went to the kids. Two that need ortho work keeps me busy enough!
So, I went to the doctor for vertigo (been going on randomly since September). Doctor suggested chiro because (I guess) tension in your neck/shoulders can cause vertigo symptoms. Monday was my chiro appointment and she popped my neck and right shoulder back into place. I can't tell you yet if it helped my vertigo issues. But I can tell you that the amount of crackles and pops that came out of that session reminded me how old I really am.
Let's see what else have I been wanting to tell you?!?! Diet stunk this weekend, so back on that horse this week. Trying not to cut too low until 2nd week of February. I have that max deadlift competition the 8th so (although I have to fill my macros with healthier foods!) I know I can't cut down or I'll lose strength. Once that's done, I have no excuses left!! Leg day today so I'll hop down to the gym tonight and chiro again tomorrow. Very exciting stuff.0 -
Hope the vertigo is better for you today. I am so impressed with you entering a deadlift competition. You are boss!
As for Josie's eye issues, no one on my side has a problem but Mike's father had eye issues fairly young. So if there is an issue there it probably came from there. Her appointment was today but we had to cancel since she has been since with a fever since Sunday. No flu or strep but it seems like she is finally getting better.
Well I got my first shots last night and that was fine. Mike sort of skipped one of the sterilization procedures by accident so hopefully I don't get any sort of crazy infection from the one shot.
Since I am now off of all workouts I am on food lock down. I will be living on a lot of protein shakes/bars to keep things in check for the next 2 weeks. I am sure my weight will be all over the place due to the meds but I want to make sure it is just water weight and not fat from overeating. Hard to imagine that we will be doing the retrieval in less than 2 weeks. Fingers crossed.0 -
I hope Josie is all better. Tarren caught the flu somehow. He came down with it after we got back this weekend. He's on the mend but those fevers are scary when they won't break.
How are you feeling?
No gym for last four days between being away all weekend and tarrens flu I haven't been able to go. Tonight I'm just too pooped from fighting fevers all night!

Holy hell, old thread is old. Waaaaaay too long to read through, but looking good though, OP!0

Haha @furious - yeah we both did Lindsay Brin's programs and this has become our social chat even though we have moved on to other programs.
Josie is all better but I am sorry to hear about Tarren. I hope he is feeling better!! I am doing ok it has been 12 days of no workout and massive bloating but the end is near! Waiting for the final call but it looks like egg retrieval will be this Wednesday!! I am so ready to get back to life!
Hope everyone is doing better and you are back at the gym kicking *kitten* and taking names!

I am not back to the gym and no names have been taken. I caught the bug and have been completely out of commission until today. Hopefully today will be my first day back into the gym since Friday before we went away. No, I take that back, I went this Saturday but it was more of a I showed up tried to lift, was out of breath and weak. So I did go....but it was crappy! We'll see what today brings, strength is shot I'm sure.
I also made a radical decision I'll probably regret last night. I put my macros on the LP plan. I'll be shocked if I can manage to work my way through them, but I have to try something. I've been torn between sticking with a manageable plan and a workout I LOVE. Or cutting hard core and sacrificing workouts. Either plan has it's cons. For now I'm going to operate at LP (probably not the full 12 weeks) because I have to get some weight off. I saw 167 (granted sodium from all the soups this week) but really?! What am I doing?! Not getting back on the horse to weight loss, that much I know! So even though I loathe the idea. I have to try and hit this hard while my workouts are limited anyways with Dan's schedule. Then I can work on reverse dieting back to a feasible macro level. Totally not a long term plan, but I need a swift kick in the rear. Seriously.
So, I saw your update. I continue to pray that tomorrow's retrieval goes well. Definitely choose something super salty and delicious on the way home! You've been kicking butt keeping your diet under control. Proud of you! Definitely know I can always look to you for motivation. You continue to rock it no matter what gets thrown your way!!0 -
I would have won the competition had I made it to it. :-( my numbers (assuming I didn't flop) would have beat the top female. Darn it. We ended up back in the ER with Tarren getting strep 4 days after getting of Tamiflu. Needless to say I need to stock up on Lysol.
I am back in the gym though, trying to build my numbers back up (on a calorie deficit, which isn't easy) but so far so good.
How are you?

Hey sorry for the absence the egg retrieval knocked me off my *kitten*!! I was supposed to be able to go back to work the next day but I ended up having to take 3 days off and only 5 days later did I start feeling better! Retrieval went well. We got 10 eggs and 6 of them made it to the testing phase (which is good). They have been sent today for the genetic testing and I will find out on Monday if we have any normals. I feel like out of six we must have one normal (since I have 1 living kid out of 5 pregnancies) but you just never know. Each batch is totally random. I will totally lose my mind if we have all abnormals though because we spent $16k out of pocket on this so you can imagine. I am up like 4lbs still but I am hoping it is still fluid from the retrieval. We will find out how much is fat once I get my period and water retention is no longer an excuse but I am on a lower calorie, higher protein crack down as we speak.
I am so sorry you missed the competition! You would have killed it!! I hope Tarren is feeling better!!

I am praying you get good news soon. And I am glad the retrieval went well. I imagine it does put you on your butt! Good for you for listening to your body and taking some time!!
Definitely high protein. I need to get the shakes back in the rotation because it's easy, but ugh. LoL. I am on a 3 good days/1 iffy rotation it seems. But I am going to keep plugging away. Dan got wind about his 3 week training in Georgia that he has, and we plan on heading down to see him for a few days. So I'd really like to stay focused heading into that. Since it's only 4 weeks away I don't exactly have a ton of time!!
Nice job with the S90. Today is deadlift day. Makes me excited.0 -
Yeah we found out all my eggs are abnormal so we basically flushed $17k down the toilet. Needless to say I binged like there was no tomorrow over the weekend. We are going to give it one more shot since my parents offered to pay one more round so I am trying to put the pieces back together. My weight was already too high before the extra few pounds of weight from the first IVF so I am sure this weekend put me over the edge. Oh well. Just trying to get through it.0

S90 in this weather seems like a fantastic idea! How are you feeling? The morning workouts look great!
We are in the deep freeze again here. Such weird weather, or I'm just old and notice it more now. It was cold enough our gas lines froze on Monday. Super weird.
May stick with home workout tonight because sheesh on the cold weather. Yikes!
I am still sending virtual hugs and prayers your way. 100%. x 100%!!0 -
Well I am sure you can see how well I am doing since I barely on here I am logging food but I gained 4lb with binge eating since getting the news. This week is my first full week back working out and dieting again and some is coming off but I am still way up. I am trying to get my head in the game but I am so worked up about this whole thing. I am just every emotion under the sun. I am pissed off, beat down and just overall feeling like nothing really matters. I certainly have good and bad days but overall I am just beat down. Sorry for the negativity I am trying to get my head back on straight but it has been hard.0

We've been chatting for quite a while now. ... so please don't hesitate to express whatever feelings/thoughts you have! Negative, positive, indifferent, unknown. It's what we've kept this board going based on! The ability to discuss whatever pops in/up!! From weight to diets to workouts to life!!
MFP will be here. I will be here (though more sporadic then perhaps a year ago!! ) Getting yourself feeling healthy mentally and emotionally is what's important, you have every bit of ability to set yourself on the right track physically ([proven through the 1000K days of dedication!) so that will come when you are ready.
I've got minimal to report since I'm not doing well with consistency myself. We have moved out of our house for the time being due to no water in the city until the weekend. Been at my parents since Tuesday. I don't eat well at my parents...proven fact. My gym is closed due to the water issue. I did, however, deadlift with DH at his gym (snuck in at night!) and hit 275 so that was my high for the week. Other than that, trying to stay warm in the negative temps. Still searching for my motivation............0 -

Hope its ok that I revive this thread.
Right now I'm doing Lindsay Brin's first postnatal boot camp dvd. I've already finished week one and I lose one pound doing that along with counting calories.
This thread is super long so I'm just going to ask who did boot camp one or two and how much did you loose after completing them?0
