What are the foods you refuse to compromise on?

Cream cheese, has to be full fat. Any cheese, really. Cheese is literally made from fat.
Steak. I like my New York strip and all its marbled fat. Filet minion just looks sad to me.

I had thought cheese a while ago. However grated Romano or any other hard cheese goes really far with a LOT less calories. When I have a cheese craving (often, it's my husband's FAVORITE evening snack) I have 6 "Laughing Cow" cheese cubes. 80 calories. It does the trick.
And yes.... although I would not consider myself a "beer drinker", I would not do Corona Light or Coronita... give me the real thing (and it's not bad with 128 calories), and I do love a Guiness (it's an excellent source of iron).
And ashleycde... there's a reason we are RENOWNED for our "Canadian Bacon"... there IS NO substitute!0 -
Cheese. I tried reduced fat cheese one time. Blech!0

I don't compromise on anything as I'm practicing moderation, and I like the taste of things that I eat. I'd never eat low fat cheese (or low fat products in general), and ketchup other than Heinz doesn't taste good. It helps that I don't like sweet or fizzy drinks.0

First: I love everyone in here who refuses to succumb to light beer.
Second: Bacon, whipped cream (extra creamy or gtfo), and cheese. I'll do "part-skim" without an issue, but "light" cheese is only in my diet under protest.0 -
butter
cheese
steak
brownies
cake
buttercream frosting

Wine, mayo. I think that's it.0

I won't compromise on full fat dairy and butter. I embrace full fat everything. Low fat versions are bogus.0

absolutely beer! i can't stand a light beer, i'd rather just drink a really tasty beer, take the hit for it, and have a great day the next day haha0

There is nothing I will buy that makes any of these claims. I'll just eat meat and/or fresh fruit and veg. If I decide to have something else, it's going to be the best tasting thing I can afford, not some neutered, bland excuse for food.
I do have to admit, those Skinny Cow caramel squares are good. However, I hate Nestle, so I won't buy them anyway. 365 Whole Foods chocolate, however, well I just have to stay out of that aisle!0 -
Bagels, salad dressings, and mayonnaise.0

Butter and cheese. I would rather go without than have a low fat or cal version of either one of these.0
-
Cheese. If I have to have margarine instead of butter, that doesn't faze me.0
-
I don't compromise on any foods that I eat. And I certainly don't drink crappy beer.0

anything dairy, i can go to maybe 2% but skim or low fan.... no thanks.
Also mayo, id much rather have a little helmans full fat than any other mayo substitute0 -
low fat cream cheese = smells and tastes like glue
give me bacon and full fat butter, mayo, and cream cheese, please.0 -

I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong with the smell/taste but that's it, mystery solved.
definitely won't compromise on reduced/low fat versions of any dairy of any kind, or bacon. i also still like to use full fat ground beef for burgers, as i find them dry otherwise (a bit of real butter in the middle helps too!)but i will use lean ground beef for putting into tacos, chili etc since the seasonings add back in the missing flavour.0 -
Potato chips for me. Baked chips taste like crap. Give me my regular UTZ.0
-
Half and half in my one cup of coffee a day. I gave up the sugar in it, but will not give up the cream. I mean have you ever tasted fat free half and half?!? There should not even BE such a thing!0
-
Pizza, cheese and beer, there is no way I am trying to substitute that!
They go into my moderation pile.^^0 -
Pork Bacon, nothing can take its place.0
-
Pasta. I don't eat it often but when I do I want the plain ol' normal kind, not other grains or vegetables parading around as pasta. I love veggies but they're not spaghetti and no amount of spiralling or grating will change that for me.
And bacon. Because bacon makes everything better. Seriously.0 -
pistachios no fat pistachios yes no

I do not purchase any 'diet' foods. For me, the decision to eat only regular food within reason and balance has worked to be nearing the half-way mark to my goal.0

I refuse to touch anything diet, low fat, fat free or sugar free. They usually mean chemical *kitten* storm. I'll either just go without or enjoy it in smaller quanties.0
