Bad run today. I had to squeeze it in after work but before taking my son to a game. Could only squeeze in two miles..but it felt like 10. Just one of those days where you don't feel it at all.....

Those days are rotten, rotten I tell you! At least a bad run or two is usually followed by an AWESOME one!

....It always amazes me that the same route/weather/environment can be fabulous one day....and torture the next!

    Feb 4 - 4 miles -
    Feb 5 - rest
    Feb 6 - 3.3 + strength training
    Feb 7 - 34 mile bike ride
Feb 8 - sore from biking, so only did a 5 mile walk, not on ticker

Saw a shooting star! That's the 3rd one of seen since I started running. I don't know why that excites me so... but we barely see any stars as it is where I am, so to see a shooting one is just fun for me.

@HonuNui‌ - it would take me an hour to run 2 miles if I ran where it is so beautiful. Wow.

@ddmom0811 - I love shooting stars too. I'm a bit out in the country so you can really see the stars at night, sometimes I just lay on my deck and look at them. So peaceful.

@honunui - Love seeing all of your pictures. It is fun to see where eveyone runs.

@gabbo34 - some days are like that! For no apparent reason they just suck. Great job getting something in though.

    Date Miles Total
    2/1 8 8
    2/5 4 12
    2/7 16 28
    2/10 6 34
    2/11 5 39
    2/12 7 46

I did 4*800s during my 7 miler today. I hit my times but they did not feel good! ;) I ran last night with the jog stroller and I think doing 2 runs in less than 12 hours made me extra fatigued.

@HonuNui‌ - Beautiful picture! What a wonderful place to run! I am with @skippygirlsmom‌ though, it would take me hours to complete a short run!
@gabbo34‌ - glad you got 2 miles in even though it was rushed and didn't feel great. Just think how wonderful the next one will be!
@ddmom0811‌ - I don't get to see many stars, certainly not when I run but I get so excited when I see the hawks or ospreys! One soared over me today and just made my day (stopped in my tracks to watch it)!
@SonicDeathMonkey80‌ - your speed pyramid run sounds like fun. Do you run it on a track? I would love to try it but don't have access to a track so wondering how I would measure the distances...

Strength training in an hour then I am going to have my body fat measured in a BodPod - should be interesting! I have lost 7lbs since the last time I had a dunk test so hoping to have a better result, even though I don't think I can really compare the results.

I've been having a better experience with managing my speed on the treadmill. I just do pace conversions, so 200m (.13mi) at 11.3 (5:0X pace)rest at 6.4 for .12mi, etc.

@Lesleycali & @HonuNui It is so beautiful and green where you run! You are so blessed to live near such wonders. @shanaber I'm so glad you shared your river, It's not at all what I pictured in my head. It's less wild than I envisioned as river but less structured than what I had imagined as a channel or canal. We have Canada geese that return to us every year to hatch their young, but our flock is just 2 mated pair and their young usually 11-14 hatchlings. That small brood can be aggressive & makes a huge mess. I can't imagine what it must be like when all of those geese start families.

@Autumnblade75 See, you already know what went wrong. You're used to running 12 miles a week, you ran 33 and your body said no way girlie- not doing this for you. The whole, I'm going to miss my goal if I don't run an insane number of miles this week sounds exactly like something I would do. The good news is you're probably not broken sounds like overuse. Rest a few days and recover then start back in at around 10-12 miles you were used to doing instead of going all the way back to zero.
I agree with you about the expense of PT. Skippygirlsmom made a great suggestion about internet searching strengthening and stretching exercises for runners. Out of curiosity I did a quick image search and found several great reference sheets. If you want to run keep running. I promise it won't be this hard forever. One day everything is just going to click into place for you and you'll realize, hey I'm running- this is so easy and nothing hurts. Wishing you a pain free run:)

@dfnewcombe Your arms in your profile pic are enviable! B) Girl your hard work shows!!

@HealthyFocused715 I saw your post about the next storm and I said to my man, 'I thought we were expecting a dangerous cold snap. You know high winds and below zero temps we're not expecting more snow are we?' I must have blocked out the winter weather advisory- you're right blizzard conditions and more snow in addition to the brutally cold temps. Well, at least you warned me. :'(

@fabnine‌ Thank you! I never in my life committed to any workout program. My 2014 New Years resolution was to lose weight- I was 50, overweight and waking up every day with a new ache or pain. I joined the gym 1/2/14 and signed up for training in March. Best thing I ever did for myself and I go 3x per week. At 50 years old- I had never correctly accomplished a push-up. Now I can do that and I am working on pull-ups. Getting ready for a half marathon May 2nd. You will never know what you can accomplish until you really try!
