Unexpected results of weight loss

Wow. After losing 45 lbs, Being able to shimmy in places that I never could before.
The thing about this thread is that it makes losing, maintaining, and enjoying the new lifestyle look normal and satisfying. And doable.

I've lost 15# to date, and noticed last night while laying in bed that I feel 'lighter'. Normally I have to hug a pillow to prevent myself from rolling forward or backward while on my side, but last night I actually stayed put!1

When I'm running on the treadmill and I use my upper arm to wipe sweat from my forehead, I can't help but flex my bicep a little bit in that moment that my arm is against my head. Feels sweet.5

how bout this....(hasn't happened for me yet but I can't wait).....when you lay back in the tub and the water covers your tummy!!!13

On the cold thing, things Ive noticed:
- Cold drinks make me shiver. They never used to effect me at all, now they actively make me cold.
- I find myself washing my hands randomly just to warm them up.
- I find Ill get a cup of hot water even though Im not thirsty just to hold it for a while.
- Im always tucking my shirt in to kill the draft that goes up my back/down my pants.
- Im constantly taking my jumper off, then putting it back on, then off...
It drives me mad, especially as Ive always been one of those hot people who can go anywhere in a tshirt and not feel cold!2 -
I'm a fortunate one that I'm losing most of my excess weight around my belly sooner than later. With that said, I give myself brazilian wax , I'm able to clean and fix myself "there" without having to move my stomach around... It's so much easier! sorry! this is TMI but I haven't read anything like it on here so I thought I post that here. I've only lost about 17lbs which is 35% of my goal.6

I have kind of had to relearn how to keep my balance. I'm used to hauling around 300+ lbs. and it doesn't take quite as much effort to move around at 200 lbs. A couple of months ago I face planted when I got up from the couch. I used a little too much force standing up and the momentum just kept me going forward until I was face down on the ottoman. My husband laughed so hard he cried.23

I've always had accumulated fat, hard skin and calluses under my feet. It is so weird to look at the bottom of my feet and see they are pink like babies'.5

It's SO worth it! You do adjust to the cold somewhat and you also learn to take seat cushions with you or a pillow when possible!1 -

I agree! I think this thread should be directly linked to all the threads on the "Motivation & Support" board. All you have to do is read this and you will find all the motivation and support you need. I know it provides that for me.5 -

Cutting myself while shaving over my newly popping muscles. Too many times to count, I had to really SLOWWW it down.1

Today I got up into a wheel pose in yoga. It almost broke me, but I did it! Didn't have the strength to shift my fat butt up that way before.
Now if only I could get into some of the finishing sequence without being suffocated by my own boobs...4 -
So, I have this small little bone growth on my sternum. I was born with it, and it's nothing to worry over, just a little bony bump. When I was a kid, if I pulled my shoulder's back (so you can an impression of your ribs through your skin) that little bump would show up as well.
Now that I lost 55 lbs (5 more to go!) for the first time in 20 or so years, I got out of bed, stretched, and saw this little bony growth. I could press my fingers to it and feel it. I completely forgot I had this little thing, and I would have never seen it if I didn't shed so much weight. I thought it was pretty cool.8 -
I am a very shy person but since starting this journey and losing 111 lbs, I hold my head high and feel like a RockStar!!!13

At least once a week, when I am exercising I can do something that I haven't been able to do before. And it feels amazing!6

Running and dancing have become easy and something I feel I'm doing for fun rather than specifically for exercise.2

I sure am looking forward to all of these wonderful things such as my belly not being so heavy that I have to hold it up at times to give my back a break, to not have sore hips and knees, to rid of depression and lack of confidence, no more rubbing thighs, large breastsand feeling embarrassed! Really looking forward to all of the above2

So I'm just starting the weight loss process just over 10 lbs down. The first thing I realized yesterday is that I no longer feel embarrassed to go food shopping. My cart used to be filled with so many boxes of junk food that you almost missed the real food. Yesterday food shopping was so easy. Mostly just I the edges of the supermarket only down isles for tp and granola
Before half my shopping was chocolate/biscuits/crisps/desserts and I'd smuggle most of it into my room rather than leave it in the kitchen because I was embarrassed. Now it is all veg/meat/fruit and I can unpack without shame!6 -
I can swim further and faster and I don't feel like I'm about to die the entire next day. And I've only lost 15 pounds, hopefully it'll be even better when the final 20 go.0

In addition to my butt getting sore sitting on hard surfaces, I bruised my spine taking a bath over the weekend. Not that comfortable laying on my back now either2
