Got to love that search feature
OP- lose weight in the way you want to maintain it. Slimfast is expensive. You can eat real food and still lose as long as you are in a deficit.0 -
I tried it a few times years ago but it wasn't sustainable for me, and the results I got weren't as good as the results I'm currently getting from counting calories and exercise. (I only lost about 7 pounds total, which IMO wasn't worth the trouble and expense of the drinks.) I found that I would get hungry more often and be tempted to eat a lot more than I should have. And my father-in-law tried it but did it wrong: he would have the drink AND a meal instead of just the drink, and couldn't understand why he wasn't losing weight, oops!0

I tried it when I was younger in elementary school, but not for dieting. I just liked to drink it. But it did not make me less hungry or whatever it just made me want more of the drink0

I used to drink the shakes in high school during the summer. I thought the bars tasted like candy bars and neither did much to satiate me.0

How about the old fashion way, eating at reasonable deficit and exercise = weight loss!!

I was on it a few summers ago and it worked very well for me. Along with working out often and eating healthy, you'll lose weight really fast. I'm on it now, but more like on and off because as a college student, I'm really busy and I'm eating all the time lol. But Spring Break is coming, it's time to get back on that grind.0

Tried it and failed at it.
Just use MFP as intended. Eat your normal foods, exercise moderation, log daily, follow your calorie goal that MFP sets for you, win.
ETA: Their shakes taste like chalk... which is pretty gross.0 -
Let's see....220 calories per can, with only 10 grams of protein. Nope nope nope. Would much rather have a protein shake for 150 and then an actual breakfast (2 eggs, in fact).
Mmmm food.0 -
No way...I need food! HA
In all seriousness you can get way more satisfaction from eating the equivalent in lean protein and veggies and stay full longer.0 -
i did slim fast and had no results. it was not satisfying at all. eating sensibly and logging everyday on MFP has been the best plan for me.0

Slim fast is just a calorie reduction diet; the shakes are pretty low calorie so if you restrict what you eat a few meals per day to shakes, then you are cutting calories.
Does it work? Yeah, it does. Does it work better than eating the same number of calories in food form? No.0 -
I used the shakes back in the day during college. They tasted bad, sat in my stomach weirdly, and never really kept me full. In the end, I learned nothing about portion control or sensible eating and didn't really see any results. Anything that I did happen to lose I gained back quickly. Maybe your mileage with them will differ, but they wouldn't be my recommendation.0
